The historic landslide came despite Arctic temperatures and the Hawkeye State being battered by blizzards that were expected to decimate turnout. It gives Trump a massive boost as he seeks to win the Republican presidential nomination and return to the White House in what would be the most remarkable political comeback in U.S. history.

His habit of lying about events in his own life — a disastrous kitchen fire, growing up in the Puerto Rican community, starting the civil rights movement at a black church in Delaware, etc. — in order to pander to his audiences has earned him a mountain of Pinocchios from the Washington Post. Now, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the White House is taking up Biden's habit of telling untruths with a post about MLK. We should dispense with the tired narrative that four conscientious state and federal prosecutors—independently and without contact with the Biden White House or the radical Democrats in Congress—all came to the same disinterested conclusions that Donald Trump should be indicted for various crimes and put on trial during the campaign season of 2024. The prosecutors began accelerating their indictments only once Trump started to lead incumbent Joe Biden by sizable margins in head-to-head polls. Moreover, had Trump not run for the presidency, or had he been of the same party as most of the four prosecutors, he would have never been indicted by any of them.

Diversity equity and inclusion require that groups – rather than individuals – be treated "equitably", and that preferred groups be advantaged in hiring, admissions and other benefits. This is all part of the DEI attack on meritocracy. DEI demands that individuals be judged by the color of their skin and their identity rather than the content of their character — or their grades. DEI now demands that schools begin with the goal of achieving equity grading by any means, including non-blind grading, grade inflation or grade abolition. Anything to undercut the equality of meritocratic blind grading that didn't achieve the goals of DEI.

Law enforcement agencies in Portland, Oregon, are conducting an arson investigation after a car owned by Portland City Commissioner of Public Safety Rene Gonzalez was set ablaze on Friday morning. They suspect the act was a political statement against the commissioner, who is supportive of the police. The development occurred in a city that was one of the epicenters of the “Defund the Police” movement that cropped up after the 2020 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. An arson investigation is underway after a car was set on fire outside the home of Portland Commissioner Rene Gonzalez early Friday.

This bit of news actually surprises me. It doesn’t surprise me that the Hostages and Missing Families Forum would create a powerful and published public service announcement (“PSA”) highlighting what happened in Israel on October 7 and the ensuing hostage crisis. What does surprise me is that movie theaters across America, as well as Hulu (a Disney-owned company) will be showing it in the coming days as part of the trailers they routinely screen before running a picture or TV show. The PSA is filmed to look like the trailer for an upcoming thriller or horror movie. It ends by reminding viewers that this is the real horror that Israel

The Iowa caucuses are upon us, and it appears former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has improved her position, according to the most recent poll. But while the survey reveals favorable results for the candidate, what it says about her supporters in Iowa is also noteworthy. The poll revealed that most of her supporters would vote for President Joe Biden if former President Donald Trump became the Republican nominee. While the overwhelming percentage of Republican voters in Iowa would support Trump if he gets the GOP nod, Haley’s supporters have a different plan.

On the eve of the Iowa caucuses, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, a former ally of Donald J. In 2017, Donald Trump, who was then serving as President, threw his support behind Ron DeSantis in the race for Florida’s governorship. This endorsement from Trump was a significant boost for DeSantis, a tea-party conservative, enabling him to surpass the right-wing GOP candidate Adam Putnam, who was serving as Florida’s agriculture commissioner at the time, Politico reported.

As President Joe Biden’s immigration crisis overwhelms the United States and wreaks havoc on the state’s resources, confidential documents suggest the president’s open border policies were intentional. The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) filed a lawsuit against Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS), claiming the agency halted the 287(g) program, which assists in the deportation of illegal migrant child rapists, attempted murderers, assailants, carjackers, and other known criminals. In August 2023, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) revealed that the government ended the program in January 2021— right after Biden entered office.
