MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said that dealing with angry rural Americans is similar to combating terrorism on “Morning Joe” Tuesday.
Matthews highlighted the importance of anger in mobilizing voters during elections as he drew the analogy. He said rural Americans harbor a deep-seated anger toward liberal elites and then seemed to liken it to the sentiments of terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq following the U.S. military presence there.
“This is rural rage. They are so angry at the liberal establishment, the coastal elite, they look at people on television … ‘They don’t have to worry about us,’” Matthews stated.

Israel has seized 30,000 explosives in the Gaza Strip since Hamas launched a war on October 7, a spokesman for the Israeli government confirmed on Tuesday.
Eylon Levy told reporters during a briefing that while there was no deadline for eliminating Hamas’s rocket-launching capacity, Israel sought to achieve that goal.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari had mentioned the figure of 30,000 on Saturday, and Levy confirmed that the figure included rockets found ready for firing at Israeli cities.
Separately, the IDF reported Tuesday that it had found a cache of weapons in a children’s bedroom in a civilian home in Gaza:

On last Monday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said that he doubts “that Americans in 2050 are still going to be driving that old technology, that combustion technology that we inherited from the 20th century.”
Buttigieg said, “[T]he share of EVs has been dramatically increasing every single year, and that’s continuing. Now, our goal is, by the end of this decade, to be about half-and-half. We think that that can and will happen. But what isn’t guaranteed is, first of all, is that EV revolution going to continue to be made in America?

An animal shelter in Pennsylvania is bursting with joy because its community members helped the organization reach a huge milestone.
A few weeks ago, the Adams County SPCA facility was nearly filled with cats and dogs that needed homes, but People reported Monday that its kennels were now empty for the first time in 47 years.
In a social media post, the organization called it “a true miracle!”
“To say that we are beyond excited is an understatement! The staff and volunteers have worked VERY hard to take care of the animals in our care and to make sure they got adopted to the right home!” the SPCA explained: [Facebook]

World Health Organization (WHO) head, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declared war on meat and traditional farming.
“Our food systems are harming the health of people and planet. Food systems contribute to over 30% of greenhouse gas emissions, and account for almost one-third of the global burden of disease. Transforming food systems is therefore essential,” Tedros said in a video message published last Thursday for the COP28 official event.

Earlier this month the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) rolled out its food guidance for first-world countries in an effort to reduce carbon emissions.
The message to ‘rich’ countries? Consume less meat.

A peaceful Christmas Day turned grim at Grand Central Terminal when two tourists, girls aged 14 and 16 from South America, were unexpectedly stabbed while eating.
The assailant, identified as 36-year-old Steven Hutcherson, made racially charged threats before launching the attack, abc7NY reported.
The attack took place around 11:25 a.m. in the Dining Concourse of Grand Central Terminal while the girls were dining with their parents. Following an altercation with the staff of Tartinery, who told him he could not sit in the restaurant’s area, Hutcherson redirected his rage towards the young tourists.
Reportedly, Hutcherson exclaimed, “I want all the white people dead,"

In 2022 Biden stayed at a beachfront villa owned by wealthy Biden-Democrat donors Bill and Connie Neville.

Contrary to popular belief, apparently there are some lines that even anti-Israel types won't cross after all. But only when they're shamed into doing so.
As RedState previously reported, the newly formed "Doctors Against Genocide" (DAG) anti-Israel group, whose powerful allies include antisemitic members of Congress like House Hamas Caucus members Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Cori Bush (D-Mo.), announced on Christmas Day of all days that it was holding a "Stop the Genocide in Gaza" event inside the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, encouraging their supporters to obtain free tickets from the museum.

And Disney takes another blow on the chin, this time from South Carolina.
According to Moneywise, South Carolina State Treasurer Curtis Loftis has divested the state's money from Disney over the corporation not doing its fiduciary responsibility. Loftis blamed a "structural rot" within the company that he doesn't see it getting away from:
“I think it's clear to anybody paying attention that there's a structural rot inside of Disney. It's deep, it’s pervasive, and I suspect Bob Iger, since his return as the CEO, now realizes it can't be fixed,” he told Fox Business Digital, adding that it “does not bode well” for the future of the company.

Growing up in a rural enclave in western Pennsylvania, Gina McNulty regularly attended Catholic Mass with her family each Sunday. But something always felt missing about the experience, McNulty said — something she could not put her finger on until a few years ago when she and her husband, Steven, began attending a traditional Latin Mass at the Most Precious Blood of Jesus parish a 20-minute drive away in Pittsburgh.
Initially, the couple and their children worshipped at Most Precious Blood only occasionally — their regular parish was just a short stroll away. But by the time the couple had their third child three years ago, they started attending weekly.

Several remarkable archeological discoveries in Israel during 2023 confirm the consistent presence of Jews in the Holy Land for the last two millennia, hundreds of years before the emergence of Islam 1,400 years ago in Arabia.
Among the most spectacular findings is the Pool of Siloam, the site where the Bible says Jesus restored sight to a blind man. American pastor John Hagee, the founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel, explained the significance of the pool:
The Pool of Siloam’s excavation is highly significant to Christians around the world
It was at this site that Jesus healed the blind man (John 9),

President Trump on Sunday delivered a special Christmas message to the American people.
“I would like to wish everyone a happy and joyous and wonderful Christmas season. In this holy time of year, Christians everywhere give thanks to over 2,000 years ago, God sent his only Son into the world to be the Savior of all mankind,” Trump said.
Trump continued, “The birth of Jesus Christ is the true miracle we celebrate each Christmas. He is the ultimate source of our joy, our hope and our sense of peace and good will as we gather with family and loved ones. It is such a great time of the year.
