On last Monday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said that he doubts “that Americans in 2050 are still going to be driving that old technology, that combustion technology that we inherited from the 20th century.”
Buttigieg said, “[T]he share of EVs has been dramatically increasing every single year, and that’s continuing. Now, our goal is, by the end of this decade, to be about half-and-half. We think that that can and will happen. But what isn’t guaranteed is, first of all, is that EV revolution going to continue to be made in America?

China has a large selection of EV's for under $20,000 starting at $6500.
Any comment GMC or Ford?
I wonder how much the present government leaders are getting to destroy the American auto industry?

Yes, my bet is that we will be driving gasoline or diesel cars in the 2050 time frame.

What Pete meant to say was "I don’t know a lot of people who think that Americans in 2050 are still going to be VOLUNTARILY driving that old technology". Also, of course Mayor Pete doesn't know a lot of Americans who disagree with him on EVs. He is insulated in the liberal DC bubble where everyone thinks alike and mindlessly agrees with government green edicts. People who want EVs can buy them. People who don't want them shouldn't be forced to buy them. Until the infrastructure and technology an costs are financially viable for everyone, people will not be buying Mayor Pete's snake oil about EVs.

Then Cuba will sponsor regular junkets to Havana for us Deplorables to drive "old gas-powered" cars. Heck, I'm looking forward to it, no wait, I'll be dead by then but my children should have a ball.

That fool must not be listening as auto manufacturers like Ford and Chevy have stopped making EV's because they won't sell.

Not seeing it. With the volume of rare earth and other scarce minerals it takes to manufacture the batteries, to the incompatible flammability in water and unreliability in cold, to power replacement almost equaling the initial price, they seem a poor investment in unsustainable technology.

Royt. And the president of our company said, and I quote, "EV's have won the technology war." The board decided his services were no longer required a couple years ago.

Sorry to disappoint you Booty Edge but I personally plan on driving a brand spanking new gasoline powered vehicle in 2050. As I'm sure many smart consumers will be doing. Why don't you go back on vacation and chest feed you're two rent-a-kids along with your husband Chasity. What a yammering, sad, strange little man.
