So, eight conservatives have successfully ousted Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House and much of the conservative punditry is angry!
What does that tell us?
It tells us that all those RINOs who voted to retain McCarthy are not conservatives. That any member of Congress can and does vote to perpetuate the brutally irresponsible spending of the uniparty that runs the swamp which should be a wake-up call for all Americans. Congress can't stop spending and the Fed can't stop printing money to do it. Modern monetary theory is a joke; printing money backed by nothing is a dangerous way to operate.

Personally I'm all for the ouster. And as many more as it takes for them to get the message. Our nation is in a death spiral, and they are going out of their ways to make it worse but feathering their own nests quite nicely.
Our debt is completely unsustainable. It will never be paid off without surrendering a state or two. Our freedoms are largely gone, chipped away one exception at a time. Our justice system is the enforcement arm of the American Communist Party and our culture is completely in the toilet. We are being invaded by third world barbarians and nobody in power seems to care.
And the establishment republicans have done nothing to stop any of that. They are as big a plague as the communists and need to be gotten rid of.

A close friend of mine was elected to the House during the 'Tea Party' hey day. We had lunch several months after she was elected, and she claimed it was the worst place on earth to work. All of the members only cared about themselves, and getting re-elected. She had multiple offers of cash if she would change her vote on bills. She didn't run for re-election, since she couldn't stomach the atmosphere of corruption.

FTA: “ The vote to oust Kevin McCarthy should be an epiphany, the realization that neither political party gives a damn about the American people.”
There it is in a nutshell. This article affirms what I believe and I don’t care who is telling me that getting rid of McCarthy was a mistake, I vehemently disagree. He lied. He betrayed us. He was just moving the chess pieces around the board and doing nothing to stop the madness that has consumed our elected officials. Anyone knows you cannot spend your way out of a financial crisis. Furthermore, you cannot wrap war up with a big bow and tell us it is a good thing. There has been no serious attempt at negotiation. Now why is that? Simply, because war is a big money maker for far too many elites. Levin, Hanson, and anyone else cheering on this Ukraine debacle are failing to understand that Americans are sick and tired of funding endless wars that do not benefit anything or anyone. War has become a means of generating wealth for the soulless elites whose only consideration is the money they can make. Look what they have done to the country of Ukraine and it’s people. It is a genocide. War mongers are evil and have twisted themselves into pretzels trying to justify the unjustifiable. Ukraine is like every other killing field we have been involved in, a means for the elites to prosper and ordinary people to suffer. No more. Not one dollar, one piece of military equipment or one American life is worth the price we will pay. Let Levin, Hanson and every other war supporter send their sons and daughters. Americans are done sacrificing their kids and country for the whims of the smug elites calling for war at any price.

I totally agree with the article and comments so far. The endless spending and wars make me crazy. Very interesting #2 and believable.

I had a similar experience when a friend was elected to the House. We worked hard for his election and we were so pleased to have someone with integrity represent our district. Our celebration was short lived when he was “one and done”. The corruption was intolerable and he felt helpless to get anything done. Disappointing and definitely enlightening.

Printing fiat money with no constraints is a certain route to devaluation of the dollar.
And without its global ties to a hard commodity like oil (used to be gold), the dollar will now devalue.
How fast it does so is the only remaining question.
Just hope it's not overnight.

Gaetz is a showboat. He is certainly no hero.
Now that the change has been made, its time for positive action to do the business that needs to be done.
There were some who thought poor Lee Harvey Oswald was a hero too.
This country has never been the same since 11/22/1963.
LHO could not have done it all by himself (enter Mr. Landis and the 'deep state') and you can see how far we have veered off course into over spending for welfare and the military industrial complex as Ike warned us....

If there’s only 8 principled Republicans and the rest are RINOs it doesn’t matter how the deck chairs are rearranged.
When will the new speaker balance the budget? Do we have a date certain yet?
Usually the 8 Republicans voting against the other 210 Republicans would be the traitors. I don’t think their friends the Dim will now vote for a balanced budget.
Can somebody explain the numbers going forward?

Thank you, Patricia McCarthy ... you said it so well! I will save this article to read again every time I am depressed at how our beautiful nation is being attacked and damaged. Yes, Matt Gaetz is a hero, along with Donald Trump and all the Maga people.

A corollary to that old addage about the definition of insanity: "When what you're doing isn't working you need to do something else." With very few exceptions over the years, the Republican faction in the House has not delivered since the days of Newt. We were always told that things were going to change. Just pass this spending bill, this CR, and THEN we'll balance the budget. We're tired of the lies. Thank you, Congressman Gaetz, for blowing it up and allowing at least an attempt at a new approach.

I just hope "Hero" Gaetz has a plan to unite the Republican Majority before the Dem minority starts taking over due to the majority's inability to quickly elect a replacement Speaker of the House. I understand the ideology of the eight--I just don't see how the next steps are going to lead forward rather than backward. It all seems too chaotic to function.

I try to follow the news pretty closely, but I still do not have a clear image of the various bills that the Pubbies failed to pass.
I understand that one 'CR' would have imposed a 1% across-the-board spending cut.... it was voted down.
I understand that a different CR would have imposed a 30% spending cut on 'discretionary' spending..... it was also voted down.
I understand that the -what is it, twelve?- various funding bills are all, or most are- tied up in committees, as the Democ'RATS insist on loading each of them with Lard, and so few, it any of them, reached the full House for a vote.
If the Feds had done their so-called 'shut-down' we all know the Lamestreams would have gone into AFTERBURNER OVERDRIVE to blame the Pubbies on the shutdown, and pound away at all the TERRIBLE things that were happening as a result.... no mention that all the Federal workers would have gotten paid afterwards, as they always do, and all the Gimme-Dats on the Welfare rolls would have received their automatic payments.
I understand that some of these guys voted against McCarthy just because they don't like him.
Is there ANY PLAN to put things on a better track?
If there is, I have not heard of it
But I can GUARANTEE, the Democ'RATS -who ALL also voted to oust McCarthy- and their fellow travellers in the Media, will do everything that they can to Inflame the situation.... and then Blame it on the Pubbies!
Don't believe me?
Wait and See!
