During an interview with Tucker Carlson on X/Twitter, Victor Davis Hanson discusses the volatile 2024 election:
VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: It's going to be scary if they win because that means they'll probably take the House, the entire Congress, and there won't be any redress of grievances.
But I don't think they will because they don't have any popular support because every single one of Joe Biden's issues -- economy, crime, energy, foreign policy, the border -- he's polling 30-40 percent. The only way they're retaining power is through the legal system and the administrative state and our institutions: media, entertainment, sports, education, K-12 and universities

The only way MAGA loses is due to the entrenched Vote Counting Fraud! That gave us the debacle we have now!

Some big twists could happen. I do not feel at all certain that it will be a Biden vs Trump election, 13 months from now.
Biden is turning 81 in November and he's slipping. There is a chance he will be replaced on the Dem side. And Trump is age 77 and he is under a mega-ton of stress, being hunted down like a caribou by all these Dem/DOJ lawsuits and BS indictments, I hope his health stays solid and nothing tragic happens there, but that is not a given.

The patient is dead, Jim. Time to do some deep soul searching and move on to whatever it takes to psychologically and spiritually survive the new reality that we didn't want but has been thrust upon us against (50+%) our wills.

Nobody seems to realize, we can't vote our way out of this. Even if he wins, DJT can only do so much in four years, and that's if he survives. He can't materially change the deep state.
As it was in the seventh decade of the eighteenth century, we are being crushed by a cruel and vindictive government.
The question is: what are we going to do about it?

FTA: 'The only way they're retaining power is through the legal system and the administrative state and our institutions: media, entertainment, sports, education, K-12 and universities, and it is kind of an artificial way of getting power without popular consent.' Sorry, VDH, lack of popular consent is NO bar to assumption and retention of power by tyrants. In fact, it's pretty much SOP. Prominent exceptions Onkel Adi and FDR were actually voted in.

Look, I am a nobody in flyover country but have had the realization driven home to me well before 2008 that the country was in deep do do. You could see what was coming a mile off which is why Donald Trump wisely understood something had to be done. VDH is no fool. He knew then and he knows now just how grave our situation is but has offered zero solutions other than the ballot box to remedy our situation. I would love to believe that we could put our future in the results of the 2024 election but we all know that election will be rife with fraud of every kind. Can we win a fail proof majority? I certainly hope so because the alternative is unthinkable.
It is going to be a very dicey few months ahead. Even if we are so blessed to win the Presidency and the House and Senate, does anyone believe democrats will participate in a peaceful transfer of power? It is going to be a fight to the death. These creatures are not going to quietly into the good night. It will be a battle to even get the country on an even keel because democrats would rather have complete and utter chaos than to lose control. Be prepared for the worst because they will burn the country down before they accept defeat.
It is clear that VDH does not care for Trump. He may accept his agenda but I do not believe he respects him. Trump is too rough around the edges which boggles the mind when you look at the other side’s complete lack of any virtue. We are in a time in this country when we have to go with the leader we have and whether the Republican elites like it or not, it’s gong to take a brawler to take down the political cartel that is destroying the Republic. War is hell. It is ugly and it takes warriors to stand in the breach and fight when the odds are against them. Victor may want to rethink his position on Trump because for this fight at this time he is the best we have. We can trust him to fight and never give up because for President Trump this fight defines his love for this country. What other politician has given up so much personally to go toe to toe with this evil cabal? Trump believes the country can be restored and he has put everything on the line to make that happen. It galls me that he is not given the proper respect because he refuses to play the game the way it has always been played. If VDH is serious about saving the country, he is going to have to make a choice. Go with the guy who knows the cost of the fight and is willing to pay the price or allow these evil cretins to destroy us.

"All bets are off!" Nobody can spell things out clearly like the brilliant VDH. I really like his analogy that a bomb is being built with many known and unknown ingredients and nobody knows what the resulting explosion will look like. Possible contaminants in the 2024 election are:
8 million or more illegal immigrants that are demanding everything under the sun will probably get the vote.
Joe Biden's Eveready will burn out at an awkward time.
The economy will crash under the weight of government overspending.
China will decide that the time to take advantage has arrived.
The government induced food shortage will reach the tipping point.
150 million well-armed patriots will decide that 1776 must be repeated if we are to survive.
One of the world's many lunatics will decide that it's time for nuclear escalation.
The democrats will be bold enough to try election cheating one more time since it's a proven method.
The many terrorists and enemies now lying dormant within the country will decide that their time is right.
The simmering Civil War will blow the lid off.
Be ready for any or all of it, MAGA

Not too long ago Republicans controlled both houses in Congress and the White House (Donald Trump) and yet what happened? Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell teamed up to block most of Trump's (and our agenda) because they didn't like him. They blocked funds for the border wall, etc. And McCain allowed Obamacare to continue.
Pundits for the past couple of years keep saying that the Dem party and Pelosi when speaker was owned by a small contingent of extreme leftists in her caucus: AOC, etc. That the majority of Dems are not that extreme, but they cave to the extremists. But a small group of conservatives in the Republican House who get very little done because house leadership doesn't cave to them (and are always under attack by fellow Republicans which the Dems never do to their own) are the problem? Hmm - Why is that?

At least VDH understands what is at stake and the utter chaos that is unfolding in America. The next 18 months will be epic in the political sense while the msm continues to fan the flames all of which fuels the ongoing mental health crisis in Amerika. While I doubt that VDH is that perfect person despite his rather excellent essays, I want him to understand that Donald J. Trump is fit for purpose and must prevail from the expected Great Election Fraud of 2024 and be sworn in January 2025.

"...we've never had a president running against an ex-president."
Wrong, and I can't believe VDH blew that one. I can think of at least two cases of an incumbent POTUS running against his predecessor:
1892 - incumbent Benjamin Harrison ran against ex-POTUS Grover Cleveland. Cleveland won the rematch.
1912 - incumbent William Howard Taft ran against his predecessor Theodore Roosevelt. Both lost to Woodrow Wilson.

I watched the entire video. Riveting to me. VDH has a delivery of this awful information that more talking heads should adopt. No screaming, histrionics, sarcasm or slang. Clearly stating the problems in front of us. But as to putting forth a solution? Voting our way out of this mess seems like what he advocated. And we ALL, as Americans need to participate in our government by voting. He also mentioned the precinct level of participation. Very important.

Love Dr DH's advice that the best strategy for any Republican running is to say that he can help DJT more than DJT an help himself. And also making DJT whole is required to save the election process for everyone.
Any primary candidate who does not know these two things is unserious toward his own viability to survive the election process.

Two things working against the Republicans. First is the voter fraud. Second is all the lies, propaganda, social justice and entitlements, save the planet, save humanity, and one party rule. I would not be surprised if Biden kicks the bucket two weeks before the election and still wins. Tens of millions of people are NOT voting their wallet.

When Biden won, the midterms and the special Georgia elections for the senate, all won by voter fraud. Just keep counting past election day until they find the ballots needed for the win. Welcome to our new banana republic.

I like VDH a lot, but so many GOP have been in jail or other legal trouble specifically for their reasonable opinions - being pro-life, home schooling, self-defense, wanting elections audited, doubting we are in a climate crisis, etc. And the idea that these people are going to favor someone who has steered clear of the trouble and views that as a qualification, well, I do not want to use any vivid wording but.... It is OK, but it is not an actual qualification, to have stayed out of trouble at a time like this. Was it Thoreau who had a visitor in jail who asked him why he was in jail, and he said, why are you not in jail? It is OK not to go to jail, It is not a qualification.
