The Washington Post cast doubt on its own poll with ABC that showed former President Trump up by 10 points over his likely rival President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential contest.
Trump leads Biden 52% to 42% in a hypothetical general election matchup, according to the Post. The outlet suggested that, given other polling showing a closer race, its own poll is “probably an outlier” and appeared to cast doubt on the sample.

But that does not necessarily translate into winning presidential elections, which is of course the only sure way of enacting conservative political agendas. Yet victory is possible for conservatives, as long as they learn from the past.
Take the potpourri of current controversies over illegal immigration, rising crime, fossil-fuel independence, the economy in general, and an array of cultural concerns—from the indoctrination of the dogma of diversity, equity, and inclusion to the fact of transgendered men participating in women’s sports. In these hot-button-issue debates, the conservative side usually wins the support of the American people, at least in opinion polls.

I am so sick of hearing that the United States has a “broken” immigration system. There is nothing wrong with America’s immigration system. It’s a system of laws passed by the people’s duly elected representatives that enables limited and orderly immigration. There are further limited exceptions for refugees fleeing legitimate persecution. It’s an honorable, decent, growth-enabling system.

An investigator with the Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney’s Office accidentally shot herself in the leg inside a courthouse bathroom on Friday.
ABC News reported the incident occurred in the same courthouse in which “former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants were arraigned” on charges related to the 2020 presidential election.
The incident did not result life-threatening injuries.
FOX 5 noted the female investigator was in a “handicap accessible bathroom” on the fourth floor when she shot herself.
The name of the investigator has not been released. Former prosecutor Ash Joshi commented on the incident, saying, “It was an accidental shooting, so there is no intent to commit a crime."
A group that promotes “normalizing abortion” has lined up six billboards on Interstate 55 through pro-life states leading to Illinois, one of which falsely reads, “God’s plan includes abortion.”
Shout Your Abortion, a far-left advocacy group, placed the billboards in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee — all states which have outlawed or limited abortions. The black and white billboards, which face travelers heading into pro-abortion Illinois, also include messages such as, “Abortion is OK. You know what’s right for you,” and “Abortion is OK. You are loved.”

Of the 14 fighters from Ukraine currently receiving care there, the majority are Americans. The hospital, previously a major treatment center for service members hurt during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq , is now providing care to those that the U.S. government had urged not to join the war in Ukraine.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) called on Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) to resign from the U.S. Senate on Saturday after Menendez was indicted on federal corruption charges late this week.
“Senator Menendez should resign,” Fetterman wrote on X. “He’s entitled to the presumption of innocence, but he cannot continue to wield influence over national policy, especially given the serious and specific nature of the allegations.”

Twenty-five years ago, California enacted Proposition 10, one of the most aggressive anti-smoking campaigns in the country, referring to tobacco, not marijuana. WASHINGTON – Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg slammed former President Donald Trump’s attack on the retiring chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staffs, Army Gen. Mark Milley, calling his comment “outrageous.”

The strike begun by the United Auto Workers last week expanded to 38 parts-distribution centers across a dozen states as the union demands higher wages as well as “economic and social justice.”

The major film and television studios on Saturday evening delivered their “best and final” offer to the striking writers, a person close to the situation told CNN, adding to significant hope that the negotiations to end the months-long strike will conclude with an agreement this weekend.
