Attorney General Merrick Garland testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and responded to numerous questions surrounding the ongoing Hunter Biden case.
House lawmakers pressed Garland on specific points of contention from IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler’s testimony including special counsel David Weiss’ charging authority and the apparent refusal by Biden-appointed U.S. Attorneys Matthew Graves of D.C. and E. Martin Estrada from the Central District of California to cooperate on potentially charging Biden.

Remember when President Trump got indicted on 34 felony counts for campaign finance violations for making ‘hush payments’ to Stormy Daniels?
The FBI and IRS investigated criminal campaign violations involving Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign and a politically connected lawyer who paid Hunter Biden’s large tax debts.
However, according to congressional investigators, federal prosecutors inside US Attorney Dave Weiss’s office blocked agents from pursuing the campaign finance violation case.
Was the politically connected lawyer’s payoff of Hunter Biden’s tax debt a contribution to Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign?

New York City police arrested ten people on Staten Island on Tuesday after a resident-led protest involving a blockade of a migrant bus drop-off escalated into a skirmish with officers.
During the protest, people attempted to block a bus carrying illegal immigrants from arriving at the former Midland Beach assisted-living facility, which was recently converted into a migrant shelter, video of the protest shows. Dozens of officers arrived and put several people in handcuffs, the video shows.
Police confirmed Wednesday that ten people were taken into custody. Nine of them were issued summonses for disorderly conduct.

The Barbary pirates were a ragtag gang of North African pirates who terrorized Europe for centuries. They pirated commercial shipping, raided as far north as Ireland and Iceland to abduct and enslave Europeans –especially women – for the harems of the Middle East, and exacted tribute in exchange for safe ocean passage.
In two wars, the new United States of America put an end to them. The first was in 1801-1805. The second was ten years later and lasted just a few days, permanently putting the barbarian Barbarians out of business. America and Europe finally stopped paying tribute and ransom and enduring slave raids.

Remember all those fights about removing historical statues?
Of course you do, since the battles continue to this day. The issue flares up every once in a while, particularly when Democrats want to get their voters fired up against the evil American system of government, which is almost always.

One big battle took place during the Trump administration, and Trump dismissed the (largely successful) movement to remove statues and building names that glorified members of the Confederacy.
Trump had a simple argument: wiping away these statues and references to the Confederacy had nothing to do with confronting America’s racist past, and everything to do with wiping away American history as a whole.

The biggest story of Hispanic Heritage Month, which began last Friday, is that Hispanics are coming home to the Republican Party. Earlier this month, the New York Times published a bombshell article headlined "Consistent Signs of Erosion in Black and Hispanic Support for Biden." The piece chronicles the ongoing political migration among minorities, especially Hispanics, from Democrats to Republicans. It highlights twelve "high-quality" 2024 election polls that show Biden holds a mere 50% to 40% lead among Hispanic voters. That's down significantly from the 65% of Hispanics who voted for him in 2020.
This polling destroys the media narrative that Republicans are a racist party.

With the unconscionable persecution of the January 6th protesters, the unabashed government censorship of speech, the weaponization of federal intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and the egregious abuse of presidential executive orders and emergency declarations, the American police state is no longer a hypothetical possibility but an increasingly indisputable reality. While imperceptibly evolving over many decades, the emergence of the American police state was significantly accelerated with the overreaction to the September 11, 2001 terror attack. Even more important was the Covid 19 pandemic that dramatically increased the momentum toward a police state as once a people are terrorized it is easy to impose a police state on them.

The Biden administration is setting a booby trap in case a Republican wins the presidency in 2024.
On Friday, the White House unveiled a proposed rule that would make it even harder than in the past for an incoming Republican president to wrestle control of the left-leaning federal bureaucracy and actually implement the conservative policies promised to voters. Of the 2.2 million federal civil workers, only 4,000 are presidential appointees. The rest stay in their jobs, from one administration to the next, protected by rules that make it nearly impossible to discipline or replace them.

Americans have long been critical of politicians and skeptical of the federal government. But today, Americans’ views of politics and elected officials are unrelentingly negative, with little hope of improvement on the horizon.
Majorities say the political process is dominated by special interests, flooded with campaign cash and mired in partisan warfare. Elected officials are widely viewed as self-serving and ineffective.
A comprehensive new Pew Research Center study of the state of the nation’s politics finds no single focal point for the public’s dissatisfaction. There is widespread criticism of the three branches of government, both political parties, as well as political leaders and candidates for office.

Any U.S. citizen traveling to the Islamic Republic might want to rethink their travel plans. Truthfully, the Iranian regime has been taking Americans hostage and holding them for ransom since the overthrow of the Shah of Iran back in 1979. Unfortunately, contrary to America’s long claimed official policy of not paying ransom for hostages, with regards to Iran, every single time the United States has acquiesced to Iranian demands in order to get our people back.

60 Minutes,” The New York Times, Adam Kinzinger, and the FBI’s favorite J6 Capitol protester has gotten a slap on the wrist for what sure looked like helping to incite the January 6 riot at the Capitol Building. Why now? Ray Epps, the man the news media said was the object of conspiracy theorists of the “hard right,” was charged Tuesday with one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct for his antics at the Capitol Complex on Jan. 6, 2021. It has taken the federal government more than two and a half years to bring the single charge against Ray Epps.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged former President Donald Trump on Tuesday to release details of an apparent plan that the 2024 Republican presidential front-runner claims would end the war in Ukraine “within 24 hours.”
Trump, 77, has wildly bragged in several interviews and campaign events that if elected president next year, he would lead peace negotiations between Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin and have the conflict resolved within one day.
The ex-commander-in-chief, however, has refused to provide details about the approach he would take to end the nearly 19-month-long war.

Remember James Clapper and John Brennan? It's easy to forget given how much has transpired since both men consistently led the news throughout the Trump administration. At one time, though, their involvement in Crossfire Hurricane, otherwise known as the Russia collusion investigation was really big news.
For those less initiated, here's a quick refresher. Clapper was Barack Obama's DNI and has been credibly accused of lying to Congress. Meanwhile, Brennan is Obama's former CIA Director and has been credibly accused of doing the same. Both men lived on cable news after Trump's inauguration, making all kinds of wild, unsubstantiated claims related to nefarious Russian collusion supposedly committed by

Buried within spending provisions that passed in 2022 is a little-known program that has come to light and is raising eyebrows.
According to reports, journalists who get "harassed" online can seek taxpayer-funded counseling and other services as part of a program that seeks to fight "misinformation." No, I'm not making that up. Your hard-earned tax dollars are going to soothe the souls of aggrieved journalists who get trolled online so they can return to doing the regime's bidding.
The Biden administration has approved $5.7 million in grant funding to George Washington University to create a program that will provide psychological care to journalists who believe they are the targets

Earlier today I wrote about the layoffs happening at Ibram Kendi’s Center for Antiracist Research. More than half of the staff is now gone at a group that launched three years ago with more than $13 million in funding from big donors.
But the situation at the Center for Antiracist Research is part of a larger pattern. The institutional left in general has been laying off people in droves. Last month Justice Democrats laid off half its staff. Back in May, Planned Parenthood laid off 10%-20% of its national workforce. The Sierra Club laid off workers in April. And the Sunrise Movement laid off workers last year.

During the 1988 presidential campaign, Democrat Michael Dukakis, in accepting his party’s nomination, famously declared that “(t)his election is not about ideology. It’s about competence.”
Dukakis sought to assert the declining relevance of what he termed “political labels,” at a time when President Ronald Reagan was set to conclude two terms of conservative executive governance. His efforts to compete on more favorable terrain failed: The Democratic nominee lost in a 40-state, 426-electoral vote landslide to Vice President George H.W. Bush.
What proved a futile point of attempted differentiation in 1988 might have greater resonance in 2024. Citizens’ faith in government at all levels
