I told you back in March that Governor Randall Flagg-lite – Gavin Newsom of California – had done an abrupt u-turn regarding the shuttering of the state’s last nuclear plant at Diablo Canyon. In a volte-face worthy of a twinkle-toed Baryshnikov, Newsom went from climate cultist hero to dirty dog overnight when he realized – for once – not cutting the state’s energy throat was more important than not cutting his own. He said the plant, slated to close in 2025, should remain open until at least 2030. He also helped facilitate the panicked rush to get a Nuclear Regulatory Commission extension approved.

I'm shocked! What about those windmills, solar panels, unicorn farts? I thought those were the answers to our energy woes, not big, bad, nuclear power.

Leftist windbag puts moistened thumb in the air. Hey, they can't regulate ceiling fans and still mandate EV's for everyone unless there's some juice in the outlets.

The brownouts are getting harder to hide. California is fortunate that cooler weather is on the way and the power draw will not be as high for a few months.

Isn't 2030 the year that his gas-powered engine ban is to take effect? Keep us tethered to a source of electricity that can later be used as a cudgel against any uprising -- one wrong move and we can all be cut off by the guy who can pull the plug on Diablo Canyon. With all the "fossil fuel" bans looming, California should be rushing to build about ten more major power plants. And not just more wind turbines or solar farms.

Discovering that if their homes go dark....people will NOT be happy, and somehow, billions and billions of taxpayer dollars flushed down the rathole of solar and wind.....just won't do it. Nukes are reliable, and run 24/7/365 for many decades.

Federal revenue dropped $416 billion compared to this time last year, according to recently released U.S. Treasury Department data, despite the Democrats’ passage of their $780 billion Inflation Reduction Act last year. The legislation, which President Biden signed in August 2022, contained a 15% minimum corporate income tax, which still hasn't been fully implemented by the IRS. Experts at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and the Tax Foundation told Just the News that most of the revenue raising provisions in the IRA have not taken effect yet but they likely won't raise much revenue given the price-tag of the energy-related tax credits in the bill.

The Associated Press, the country's top wire service, is now bankrolled in part by millions of dollars from left-wing foundations, including one founded by "1619 Project" author Nikole Hannah-Jones. The news organization last year announced a series of "partnerships" to subsidize reporters covering climate change, race, and democracy. A review of the donor roster shows that the vast majority fund left-wing political causes, while none are supporters of conservative initiatives.

A coalition of 1,609 scientists from around the world have signed a declaration stating “there is no climate emergency” and that they “strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy” being pushed across the globe. The declaration does not deny the harmful effect of greenhouse gasses, but instead challenges the hysteria brought about by the narrative of imminent doom. The declaration, put together by the Global Climate Intelligence Group (CLINTEL), was made public this month, urges that “Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific.”
