Miami mayor Francis Suarez announced on Tuesday afternoon that he will be suspending his bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. “While I have decided to suspend my campaign for President, my commitment to making this a better nation for every American remains,” Suarez wrote in a public statement released on the social-media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. “I will continue to amplify the voices of the Hispanic community – the fastest-growing voting group in our country. The Left has taken Hispanics for granted for far too long, and it is no surprise that so many are finding a home in America’s conservative movement.”

Former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, who had a long history of diplomatic and state service, passed away on Friday at the age of 75.
He died in his sleep at his home in Chatham, Mass., the Richardson Center for Global Engagement confirmed. He founded the institution in 2011 with the purpose of negotiating the release of prisoners and hostages who were being held by hostile countries or organizations. The center said it had worked with over 80 families for that purpose. After the judge issued the temporary injunction, Texas officials immediately appealed to the state Supreme Court, the highest court for civil cases in the state.
