Miami mayor Francis Suarez announced on Tuesday afternoon that he will be suspending his bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. “While I have decided to suspend my campaign for President, my commitment to making this a better nation for every American remains,” Suarez wrote in a public statement released on the social-media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. “I will continue to amplify the voices of the Hispanic community – the fastest-growing voting group in our country. The Left has taken Hispanics for granted for far too long, and it is no surprise that so many are finding a home in America’s conservative movement.”

I knew he was entered in the campaign but why drop out? Him being in or out makes no difference one way or the other. The arrogance it takes for people like him, Crispie, Pence, and some ot the others to run for that office is mind boggling.

He did it so he can run to replace DeSantis in 2026. He’s done a good job in Miami but was not ready to get into this race with DeSantis and Trump sucking up all the oxygen. Then you have pretenders like Phat ChrisChristie and the Evil Nikki Haley, who are wasting everyone’s time. Trump or DeSantis will win in 2024.

Former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, who had a long history of diplomatic and state service, passed away on Friday at the age of 75. He died in his sleep at his home in Chatham, Mass., the Richardson Center for Global Engagement confirmed. He founded the institution in 2011 with the purpose of negotiating the release of prisoners and hostages who were being held by hostile countries or organizations. The center said it had worked with over 80 families for that purpose. Richardson helped rescue individuals being held in North Korea, Iraq, Cuba, and Sudan, sometimes by bargaining with tyrannical leaders, such as Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

The son of Hungarian activist billionaire George Soros and chairman of Open Society Foundations rejected claims that his globalist funding operation will “retreat” from Europe, while warning that former President Donald Trump poses a risk to EU “unity” if re-elected. Alex Soros, the scion of the Soros empire and recently installed head of the Open Society Foundations (OSF), said this week that his organisation is still intent on interfering in Europe, saying that the continent “remains of huge strategic importance to the work of OSF”. Writing in POLITICO, the 37-year-old leftist philanthropist said that reports claiming that his group is planning on leaving Europe were “misleading”,

Suffice to say, champions of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores have had a “cruel, cruel summer,” as the classic Ace of Base lyric goes. First, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, one of the foremost champions of ESG investing, disavowed the very term, saying, “I don't use the word ESG anymore, because it's been entirely weaponized.” Apparently, Fink “saw the sign,” as Ace of Base might say. Then, just a few weeks later, the first-ever lawsuit over ESG investing practices in a private company’s 401(k) retirement plan was filed. The lawsuit, filed against American Airlines and Fidelity Investments, accuses Fidelity of offering several funds to plan participants that “pursue nonfinancial and nonpecuniary

Opposition to Rep. Kevin McCarthy becoming House Majority Leader was palpable on the right at the beginning of 2023. During a drawn-out fight, Rep. Chip Roy and other conservatives held up his promotion to secure a new rules package and guarantees surrounding investigations. Eventually, McCarthy secured the votes after making several concessions, and at that point, it was fair to wipe the slate clean. He deserved a chance to prove himself, and for the most part, he's been a fairly good leader who has kept his promises regarding investigations into the weaponization of government and the Biden family's corruption. A federal judge handed down hefty sentences against two members of the Proud Boys for their role in attacking the Capitol on January 6, 2021, one who broke open a window to the building and another who took over the leadership role of the group that day. Their sentences, both among the longest yet of the over 1,000 people charged as part of the riot, are emblematic of how judges are working to separate key figures who furthered the violence that day from those who were swept up in the crowd. “If we don’t have the peaceful transfer of power, I don’t know what we have,” District Judge Timothy Kelly said

Shares of several big media and entertainment companies tumbled Friday as investors considered the potential fallout from an impasse between cable giant Charter Communications and media titan Walt Disney Co. On Thursday, Disney said it had pulled major networks such as ESPN and ABC from Charter systems after the two companies could not come to terms on a renewal of their carriage license. Charter’s systems reach a little under 15 million subscribers in markets that include New York City and Los Angeles. Charter raised eyebrows Friday morning by declaring that it could not strike a traditional renewal pact with Disney while more cable subscribers were fleeing to streaming video on demand.

The U.S. Border Patrol arrested 91,000 migrants who crossed as part of a family group in August, breaking the previous one-month record of 84,486 that was set in May 2019. Last month, families became the single largest demographic group crossing the border for the first time since President Biden took office, according to preliminary data obtained by the Washington Post. That title previously belonged to single adults. More than half a million migrants who arrived as part of “family member units” have now surrendered at the border this fiscal year, breaking yet another record.

The White House briefing room has been the site of a lot of bad and bizarre things. Most of that stuff has come from the mouth of White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre or other members of the Biden communications team or the liberal media reporters spouting the spoon-fed narrative. We saw on Thursday how Jean-Pierre was left stammering and disturbed when asked about Biden's biographer saying Biden admitted to being frequently "tired." Jean-Pierre also had blown off the question of why the doctor was with Biden the day before, claiming that she wasn't aware of the situation. If it wasn't a scheduled visit, that raises even more questions.

A Texas law banning transgender care for minors will go into effect on Friday, now that the state Supreme Court has lifted a temporary injunction issued by a lower court. Last week, a Texas district judge ruled that the law banning the medical transition of minors violated the rights of transgender children, as well as the alleged rights of doctors who follow “well-established, evidence-based” medical guidelines. After the judge issued the temporary injunction, Texas officials immediately appealed to the state Supreme Court, the highest court for civil cases in the state. The order from the Supreme Court lifting the injunction provided no further explanation as to the constitutional reasoning behind

Vice President Kamala Harris has "rabbit ears" for criticism, which are a source of frustration in President Biden's West Wing, according to a new book. According to journalist Franklin Foer's forthcoming book "The Last Politician," Harris' purported insecurity about how she was perceived led some colleagues to compare her to large-eared varmints. "Harris possessed what one of her colleagues described as ‘rabbit ears,’" Foer wrote. "Whenever there was a hint of criticism of her — either in the West Wing or in the press — she seemed instantly aware of it."

The number one problem Joe Biden faces going into his re-election bid is the economy. It stinks. A majority of Americans think it stinks. Almost every previous presidential election was based on the voter’s perspective on the economy. Ronald Reagan’s question still haunts all incumbents: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?” The pandemic and the economic fallout from business closings, supply chain disruptions, and $5.2 trillion in government spending — which led to a painful spike in inflation — have made the Reagan question somewhat irrelevant. The economy has come roaring back to almost where Trump left it. But people’s perspective on the economy is still clouded.
