Pope Francis Slams ‘Very Strong Reactionary
Attitude’ Among U.S. Catholics

Original Article

Pope Francis has appealed for more changes in Catholic teaching, lamenting the “backwardism” of conservative Catholics in the United States. (snip) During his interview, the pope also insisted that the Church must pay less attention to “sins of the flesh” and more to other sins. (snip) “But what I don’t like at all, in general, is that we look at the so-called ‘sin of the flesh’ with a magnifying glass, just as we have done for so long for the sixth commandment,” he said. “If you exploited workers, if you lied or cheated, it didn’t matter, and instead sins below the waist were relevant.”

Sins of the flesh have cost the Catholic church in the US a catastrophic amount of money. So is the Holy Father saying that they are less important than, say stopping the use of fossil fuels?

FTA: “In other words, ideology replaces faith, membership of a sector of the Church replaces membership of the Church,” he said, in apparent reference to conservative or traditional Catholics. Really? Tell that to the Catholic parents recently denied the ability to foster children because of their religion. You're right on ideology replacing faith, Pope, But you're focused on the wrong ideology.

So the pope elected in the aftermath of the gay pedo priest scandal wants us to stop focusing on "sins below the waist." What's next, lining up convicted pedo priests as martyrs on the path to cannonization? Well we've had corrupt popes in the past and the Church survived just as Jesus promised. Better to focus on the prayer popularized by St Pope John Paul the Great: Jesus I trust in You!

It's just as lamentable to shift the imbalanced attention away from sins of the flesh, to be preoccupied with abstractions of social justice while winking at those who let their fleshly desires and appetites govern them. The Apostolic witness warned against both types of sin, alternating between exhortations to live justly and appeals to "make no provisions for the needs of the body" ... to live for the spirit and not for the flesh, because we are made spiritual beings in our Baptism.

Satan walks the earth in many human forms. 50 years ago at a Catholic University I experienced the shock and dismay of finding out that the operation was a giant hoax. The Catholic Church embraced socialism, lawlessness, and sexual perversion. It may have been saved if it allowed married priests a century ago, at the same time purging the institution of European hedonist ideology. Now it is too late.

Texas Shakes Up Drunk Driving Laws: Kill

A new Texas law recently went into effect that would impose further consequences on drunk drivers. The legislation, known as Bentley’s Law, mandates that individuals who kill a child’s parents because they were driving while intoxicated will be liable for paying child support. The new law presents an interesting ethical and legal proposition that aims to mitigate the trauma and damage caused by those who drive while drunk. It seems to make sense: If a drunk driver robs a child of their parent, doesn’t it make sense that they should be financially responsible for the loss?

It is undeniable that the judiciary and juries in the federal courts in the District of Columbia are almost uniformly left-wing partisans, a key part of the post-constitutional era brought into being by former president Obama. I do not know how or whether this can be rectified, although I expect a resounding victory for Republicans in 2024 followed by a congressional reshaping of the jurisdiction of these courts and their staffing may be the only solution. If you are unaware of the seriousness of this, it’s because the press has almost uniformly failed to cover this fairly, and, indeed, has been full participants in the multiple hoaxes

From there, the school allowed her to use the boy’s bathroom, used male pronouns to refer to her and was "socially transitioned" away from her biological gender.
