At a town hall in New Hampshire, Ron DeSantis was asked how he will respond when Trump starts belittling him and name-calling in personal attacks on the debate stage. His answer was a glimmer that the Ron DeSantis we’ve been waiting to show up on the campaign trail is still there.
Is he finally waking up? The question now is whether or not it is too late to make a difference. DeSantis pointed out what many Republican voters think – the way Trump speaks is not presidential. [Snip] A majority of voters don’t want a Trump-Biden re-match.

Seriously, Karen? Trump doesn't sound presidential? That all you got? Frankly, that's why his supports keep growing. We're tired of the double talk lies from RINO's. They talk pretty but are lying out of both sides of their mouths. I'll take Trump and his stupid remarks. You're right, they aren't presidential. That's why we need him. He fights back.

"DeSantis pointed out what many Republican voters think – the way Trump speaks is not presidential. "
Maybe, Ron. But your answer in New Hampshire to questions about dealing with deep state -- that you will begin slitting throats on day one -- isn't exactly presidential, either. Good grief.

"A majority of voters don’t want a Trump-Biden re-match"
Says who? Maybe that includes most Democrats because they know Trump will beat the pants off Biden in a fair election. They will have to cheat bigly (again) to drag Biden across the finish line (again)..
DeSantis is a forlorn hope for the anti-Trump Republicans. See the chart at this link for one reason why..

FTA ... This Republican presidential primary is one like we’ve never seen before and all we can do is wait it out.
I'm one of those Independents. Trump is a GUARANTEED one term OLD president, DeSantis kicks everybody's butt except Mooch. Sure as hell not voting for ANY Democrat.

It looks like Hot Air is starting to sound more like Red State everyday. Bonchie has started with the "I support Ron" mantra, and while I wish DeSantis no I'll will, he needs (in my OPINION) to wait for 28. Join the Trump administration team and pick up experience and good will.
Then in 2028, stay away from the "Republican" elite and he is an easy winner.

I support both President Trump and Governor DeSantis. I don't know for whom I'll vote when the California primary rolls around, Trump was a good president, not great since he didn't unite us, had minimal legislative success and, worst of all, didn't exceed the margin of cheat in the 2020 election. Trump attracts me on an emotional level and getting him back in the White House would restore justice.
DeSantis speaks more clearly, obviously would work to get Congress to pass good legislation and clearly would chose better personnel than Trump did. His response to the Covid hysteria, this century's biggest test, was miles away better than Trump's. He is a bit of a bore. I have no emotional attachment to him,
The criticism, highlighted in this article, was entirely correct. Trump is running as if it is 2015 and it is true that many of the promises he made then were not kept. So far Trump has made no attempt to attract the voters he needs to win in 2024. His constant recitation of his grievances appeal only to his base and are a turn off to potential voters. Despite what the Trump pom pom squad says, his support outside the base is not growing. Does he have time to get serious? I don't know but I wish he would.

I like a lot of what he says, but as we are finding out he will say what his owners tell him to. Anyone can say anything. We've been betrayed enough times by tough talking "republicans".

People forget that President Trump only had people who Turtle gave him and that would pass muster. I don't think he was much able to put his own people in. Granted there were some stinkers of his, but we all make mistakes.

When the answer to how to stop the democrats from doing what they did the last two elections is taken care of, Trump will lose again. Unfortunately, probably none of our candidates can win. I’m not very optimistic.

So many conservatives "want a change." If we don't fight what is happening to Trump now, every Republican President will face the same playbook that was used on Trump because it worked. That is not a change!!

Of course he doesn't talk presidential, why do you think millions of people support the guy? Open your eyes Karen and stop being willfully blind.

Karen Townsend is Townhall’s token lib. Or just another dumb Republican who is wowed by form rather than substance. If the way Ron speaks is presidential, I am Catherine the Great.
What will Ron actually do for our country? Stop illegal alien invasion? Brng back President Trump’s economy? Keep us out of war? Tell Xi to fly a kite? The list goes on and on. Not as simple as Disney...

Comparing RDS’s “Florida Covid response” to President Trump’s is the height of naivete. Does no one have a memory for how shockingly the Chinese plague hit the world and our country? How quickly we forget.

Think about it. He is a very popular governor of a solidly Republican state. He has an attractive wife. He has a state legislature that will pass pretty much any legislation he truly wants. Even the media in his state is pretty supportive of him. He says all the right things.
Sadly, the "he" I was describing was George W. Bush. He was elected president, and suddenly discovered just how hard it is to lead when you have a very hostile opposition party, and way too many members of your own party, in Congress that do everything they can to keep you in your place.
I honestly don't see a lot of differences between Bush back then and DeSantis today.

As I was reading this writers article, I couldn't believe how many Republicans are timid little Pearl clutchers
Listening to some posters criticizing his lack of accomplishments. I guess it wasn't very good 1.7% inflation, $1.50 gallon gasoline, became the world's biggest exporter of oil what else, brilliant Supreme Court picks, the ending of Roe v wade, staying out of foreign entanglements with other countries, increasing the wages of factory workers and laborers. Bringing more minorities into our party than anybody else ever did. You're right this is terrible we need a different direction God those are such bad years.
