When Trump burst on the political scene, his smashmouth style was, shall we say, off-putting. Dan Bongino, also from Queens, told us this was just the normal style of speech in that area. And many of us voted for the Donald, knowing that the alternative was simply intolerable. We weren’t sure what he would do, but his opponent was guaranteed to do bad things.
For four years, in the face of relentless false attacks, Donald Trump got things done. Lots of things. But he didn’t drain the swamp.

I am well aware people think differently than I do. But a lot of articles pretend to love Trump when they really don't. It's obvious in some of them. The catch is there is no one else brave or big enough to take on the current swamp in Washington. No one. So I really don't care that he wasn't perfect his years in the White House. He was new to politics. He's learning. That's what we need.

If DJT runs, I will vote for him. If anybody else runs, after 55 years of jumping through the uniparty game hoops on a useless quest for a good president, I will simply stay home.
I don't think DJT can save us but I want him as my captain as we sink into the ocean of lies and deceit. He will fight to the end, and I'll do my best to praise the Lord and pass the ammo. I am so unhappy at still being alive at the end of the United States of America. We've lost the republic.

He needs trustworthy cabinet members and advisors. Congress needs to defund a lot more than the CIA and FBI. About 3/4s of Washington could be fired, and We the People would only benefit.
I admire Trump's chutzpah and drive, but politics is very different from business, and you have to consider that everyone you appoint may be someone who is specifically there to thwart and betray you.
Donald Trump, if you read this, remember:no one who works near politics is trustworthy. You are better off getting ordinary people with the right skills and give them the authority to can anyone working against OUR plan.

It was the betrayal of the establishment Republicans that helped sink Trump. I am never voting for them. I will vote for Trump, as he is the only one that will stop the progression to communism, and reverse it.

Trump has a hard ceiling on his favorability rating and there is nothing he has done or said recently to change that. Just the opposite, in fact. His foul-tempered outbursts do nothing to broaden his appeal.
It's all a damned shame, but that seems to be the way of it. IMO he can't win a general election, and if he did he would hit the same brick wall he ran up against in 2017.
Let's not make the mistake of fighting the last war. That approach did not avail the French in 1940.

Condensation noted, OP. This is just another garden-variety anti-Trump piece. Perhaps it’s not been posted because it doesn’t say anything new. Trump supporters already know why Trump-hesitant people are reticent. They don’t care. Do what you have to do, as will they.

The main problem for the Republicans is that many of us hold no allegiance to them anymore. After watching so many of them stab President Trump in the back in 2020, I became an independent conservative. So did my husband.
Don't get me wrong. I will never vote for a Demøn-Rat!!!! They are all pure evil these days!!!!! But I will never vote for another Republican just because they have an "R" after their name either. At least with Demøn-Rats, you know what you are getting (pure evil). But with a RINO Republi-Can't, it's even worse.
As far as the presidency, Donald Trump has a massive following of people like us. There are a couple of other Republicans running that I would vote for, though definitely not with any passion, if Trump were not the Republican candidate in 2024. But there are several running that I would sit home because I just can't do it anymore.

I think the article is thin gruel. He wonders if Trump can really drain the swamp or is it just hyperbole that Trump says he will. Sorry, but that’s inane. The swamp has immense power and we have seen it on display with the cooperative media. Who can do better, definitively and unquestionably better, than Trump? Who has drained a swamp so that we know they can actually do it? Who has fought one-hundredth of the swamp battle that Trump has fought? There is no other candidate with credibility in this issue.
Is he getting senile? Don’t make me laugh. Not by any sane definition of senile.
I don’t like the attacks on the two women, but i have paid little attention to that. If that’s what your going to hang your hat on, your hat’s gonna fall on the floor. From a position of “know almost nothing”, I’m sorry he attacked them. But really? That?
It’s going to take some substance and “show me” to persuade me. Otherwise you’re just claiming desantis or whoever the next guy is won’t be so disliked by the swamp. Do we really think the swamp attacked Trump like it did because of Trump’s “smash mouth”?
I know they hate him. And i guess a lot of “independents” don’t like his “smash mouth.” He got more votes than any other president other than Big Bidet. More than in 2016. Really?

The Republicans have always had the same problem…the few elites like Bush, Romney, McCain, Mitch think they run the party. Why Trump wants to take on this mess is beyond me! I admire him for his love of country. Millions have been spent to destroy Trump & he’s still standing!! Amazing!

I would be fine with another Trump presidency but I agree he didn't drain the swamp, his administration even had lots of RINOs and deep state, and I have to wonder if he's learned enough to not do a repeat.

Oh come on!!! Donald Trump has been the greatest President I can remember (born 1951) Why would a non-RINO Republican vote for anyone else?

Is that all the author has? Smash mouth?!
Kayleigh McEnany is a very well paid Fox contributor and knows on which side her bread is buttered and I doubt she would go against Fox’s anti-Trump company policy. Like Dana Perino, her loyalty is to the one who pays her salary. You won’t see either of them praising Trump anytime in the future. The Murdochs wouldn’t like it. As far as Jenna Ellis, I had not heard that dust up.
However, what I do know is that Trump holds loyalty in high esteem as he should considering the multiple backstabbings he has endured. He walked into DC as an outsider with an agenda that challenged the power structure. He revealed their pettiness, corruption, and pathetic work ethic. He got hit in the face with betrayal on a daily basis simply for doing for the country what he promised to do and the political class hated him for it. He wasn’t a part of their little corrupt club and he didn’t care. He was a man on a mission. It was his duty to get the country back on its feet and boy did he deliver despite the relentless attacks. He was singularly focused and he brought with him the same skills that made him an extremely successful businessman.
Has this author ever met a very successful businessman? His success wasn’t accomplished by using the Leticia Baldridge handbook, nor was it used by many of our generals and men of consequence that made this country what it is. Politics is a whole other ball of wax. The whole premise is based on deceit. They promise everything and deliver nothing but they do it with a smile on their face and corruption in their hearts. The political class has a wealth of comity and manners but they will cheat, lie to your face and steal you blind. It will all be done with a warm smile and exemplary manners, but the end game is always the same they win and we lose. While President Trump’s style is not my style, he is an effective Commander in Chief. In fact, his record indicates that he has been one of the most if not the most effective President in modern history. We have also learned that he is a kind and generous man. He is respected because of his accomplishments and willingness to go head to head with a corrupt system inside and outside the country. He may be brutally frank, but his loyalty and love for the country is unparalleled. He is also trustworthy which means everything when all manner of deceit is being pushed down our throats. If his worst fault is a smart mouth, I can deal with that. What I cannot and will not accept is another smooth talking politician playing a role for the country when raw ambition is the driving force in his life. Give me the guy whose driving force is saving the country. You cannot do that if you have been a part of the process that has cranked out one disappointment after another.

#6. "Trump has a hard ceiling on his favorability rating...." That says it all. He actively rejects the votes of moderates, independents, and disaffected Democrats. Just calls them Rinos. He can't win.

Sorry Dr Ted! The answer is obvious to me...YES! Trump is an arrogant, counter puncher with a knee jerk reaction. He is exactly what we need now. The swamp is several layers deep with amoral, vicious bureaucrats. No talking necessary.
DeSantis seems to be tied to the GOPe wing of Conservatives. They have been selling us out forever. They will let him clean up Florida, since the demographic there is uncontrollable to them, but in the end it will be UniParty, big money control. Same circus ... different clowns!
I say let Trump vigorously clean things up for four years and then DeSantis can step in and finish the job

Is there a better candidate for 2024?
No, I don't mean your favorite . . . I mean a better Republican candidate who would more likely be allowed to win regardless of having actually received the most delegates?

Only see these articles about Republicans. Never Democrats. At that point, my BS detector starts ringing. Stop focusing on who can and cannot win and focus on what it's going to take to win the presidency regardless of candidate.

Trump never had a chance to drain anything. From day one, he was stopped by his own party from doing what he wanted to do. Republicans fought him tooth and nail to slow or stop any progress in draining the swamp. Demosluts and the media were all over him and still are about phony allegations for one or another. It's the reason the demosluts took control of Congress in 2018. Then the Chinese virus came along and stopped everything due to an inside the beltway 80 year old demoslut. Every attempt Trump tried to gain control was beaten back by Fauci and the media saying Trump isn't a doctor. Fauci became the media go to guy for two years until the 2020 election was over. Since then, almost every person Trump appointed or who were in his cabinet have dumped all over Trump to sell books they've written. Trump's handling of the economy was his single greatest success. Now Biteme and the demosluts have run that into the ground.

Multiple Mega MAGA dittos, & Amen, #16.
Trump has sacrificed more, and endured more personally than any POTUS since our Founding Fathers. He continues to suffer & sacrifice as a private citizen. He is risking even more personally now, by continuing this fight for this Constitutional Republic that was bequeathed to US by other American patriots like him.
America has everything to lose if he loses. The hope of restoration if he wins. Only “slow death in hospice care”, or a quick demise if he loses, as you correctly said in another comment on another thread.
I have no way of knowing for certain, but I believe God’s providence has lifted up this imperfect, “flawed” individual to expose the clear choice between good and evil in our government, & to show by his successes that he is a leader for “such a time as this”.
There are many parallels between the circumstances & attitudes of Americans & the Israelites. As imperfect as they were, they wanted their own ideas of perfect resolutions to problems, & their ideas of perfection in their leaders. They complained & criticized if they didn’t get it immediately. Even though their circumstances & promise of a better future were much improved under certain leadership, some wanted change in leadership & looked elsewhere.
Some of them thought of themselves as grasshoppers among giants & didn’t believe it was possible to “take the land”. Some even longed to return to the oppressive conditions they had previously endured.
Who among humans is not flawed? The chosen leaders in the Old Testament were. Today’s leaders certainly are, as well as those unproven ones who want to be POTUS in these perilous times. I know what Trump can do. I know what present and past leadership has wrought. I stand with Trump.

Surprised that a featured piece like this has not yet been posted. Or maybe not surprised. Hardcore Trump supporters are not going to like some of Noel's assertions. I support Trump and said as much in response to Alicia Colon's recent fiery defense of DJT in a column published in AT. I'm posting this despite the likelihood of blowback because it's important to know why people who share your values think differently than you.
