Viktor Orbán's Culture War

Original Article

Hungary is the most controversial small nation on Earth. The headlines in the international press sound the alarm: Hungary represents the “death of a democracy,” the “rise of illiberalism in Europe,” and a “glimpse of our authoritarian future.” Viktor Orbán, the country’s prime minister, is described as a monster—the embodiment of nativism, nationalism, xenophobia, and fascism. Meanwhile, a faction of right-leaning intellectuals has heralded Hungary and its policies as a model for a new conservatism that asserts national sovereignty and uses state power to support families, civil society, and national identity.

Comments:

I wish Trump and other Republican candidates and elected officials would read this. Orban is not as pictured in the MSM, but has a grasp of the entire cultural and political spheres and is using his government to move them into a healthy direction after their years under communism. We need something similar.

One of the things I find most objectionable about the left is how they have redefined nationalism to mean fascism and Nazism. Nationalism is about protecting the welfare of a county itself because if the country fails it will be disastrous for everyone living there. Instead, we have half the population supporting policies that would destroy the country. Don't believe it? Take a quick look at our debt to see otherwise.

Before being forced from Fox, Tucker Carlson interviewed Viktor Orban several times. He comes across as hard-nosed and pragmatic, and determined to rid Hungary of all vestiges of Communism. Their immigration controls are some of the toughest in Europe; like Poland, they don’t allow Muslims to enter. He told Tucker several times “we are a serious country.” Hungary isn’t at all the way left-wingers portray it.

Wow! The Minister of Culture and Innovation says: "The purpose of statecraft, he said, was to “build institutions that create healthy attachments to family, nation, and God.”

Continuation of my comments in #4.... So, in Hungary, the government works to 'create healthy attachments to family, nation and God' -- while in the USA every branch of the government works to destroy the family, destroy the nation and destroy all who worship God. We are in a hell of a bad situation. And it looks like Hungary is doing a really good job.

Orban puts Hungary first. That is what he was elected to do. In the US you are considered racist and hateful (by the left) if you put the US and it's citizens first. I much prefer the Hungarian way of governing and putting their county first and expecting others to obey their laws and rules.

Mark Twain said history doesn’t repeat but it rhymes. (Snip) Harding campaigned on what he called “a return to normalcy” after the upheavals of World War I. Normalcy meant reining in federal spending, and Harding established what became the Office of Management and Budget in the White House. Normalcy also meant a restoration of civil liberties. Wilson’s administration jailed critics of the war, including socialist leader Eugene V. Debs, who ran for president in 1920 while serving a 10-year prison term. Harding commuted Debs’ sentence—and invited him to the White House. That same day, Harding commuted the sentences of 23 others jailed by Wilson as well.

 There were on site at least 20 potentially infectious pathogens including those causing coronavirus, HIV, hepatitis, and herpes.  The lab was supposed to be producing COVID-19 and pregnancy tests, but the facility contained items inconsistent with that explanation. The seizures at the lab strongly suggest China's regime is preparing to spread disease in America, undoubtedly in the months before a war.  In all probability, it is from locations like this one where China will "fire the first shot" in the next war.  General Chi Haotian, when he was China's defense minister two decades ago, reportedly gave a secret speech advocating the extermination of Americans with disease.

n Tuesday, President Joe Biden’s Justice Department took the unprecedented step of indicting former President Donald Trump — Biden’s chief rival in the upcoming 2024 election — for repeatedly expressing his opinion that the last election was stolen, rigged, and unfair. It’s an opinion millions of Americans share, and to which they are unquestionably entitled thanks to the First Amendment. That includes Trump, who has said repeatedly (and recently) that the 2020 election was stolen. He’ll probably keep saying it until his dying day, and he has every right to do so.

I apologize in advance if the title sounds like I’ll be presenting a long essay. This post will be a few snapshots, just to remind readers of the big picture. Right. As if you didn’t know already. Nevertheless, in the current context the big picture is supremely important. The extraordinary jihad against Donald Trump—that’s really the only appropriate word for this unholy war—has been instigated because Trump posed an existential threat to the global ambitions of the American Deep State and Ruling Class. Sen. Ted Cruz took aim Thursday at a Supreme Court precedent that empowers the administrative state at the expense of the people’s will and the Framers’ vision in the Constitution. This Supreme Court doctrine has “played an enormous role in the expansion of the administrative state,” Cruz, a Texas Republican, told The Daily Signal in a phone interview Thursday. “It has resulted in the American people being subject to the tyranny of the bureaucracy, over which they have very little control or ability to demand accountability.” Cruz referred to “Chevron deference,” the doctrine that whenever a law is ambiguous, a federal agency has the authority to interpret the scope

A dose of Moderna’s Covid jab injured the hearts of about 3 percent of people who received it, Swiss researchers have found. The vaccinated people did not show obvious signs of heart damage. But when researchers ran blood tests three days after the jabs, they found high levels of troponin, a protein the heart releases when it is injured, in many recipients. “Subclinical mRNA vaccine-associated myocardial injury is much more common than estimated based on passive surveillance,” the researchers concluded. The paper was published last week in the peer-reviewed European Journal of Heart Failure. Over 1 billion people have received mRNA jabs.

And that’s generating speculation that Florida Gov. The ex-girlfriend provided a copy of the letter, but had redacted one paragraph, Garrow told Tablet, who said she revealed the paragraph was about “homosexuality.”

Special counsel Jack Smith made history on Tuesday. It wasn't just the federal indictment of a former president. Smith already did that in June with the indictment of Donald Trump on charges that he mishandled classified documents. No, Smith and his team have made history in the worst way by attempting to fully criminalize disinformation by seeking the incarceration for a politician on false claims made during and after an election. The hatred for Trump is so all-encompassing that legal experts on the political left have ignored the chilling implications of this indictment. This complaint is based largely on statements that are protected under the First Amendment.

So a Democratic Party operative has once again indicted Donald Trump on transparently foolish grounds. The result of the Democrats’ seeming obsession with Trump is that he continues to dominate headlines and suck up oxygen nearly three years after he lost the presidential race in 2020. This is truly extraordinary. Did Jimmy Carter dominate headlines in 1983, years after he was thrashed by Ronald Reagan? Was Walter Mondale a fixture in the press in 1987, after being clobbered by Reagan in 1984? Were the papers full of commentary on Michael Dukakis in 1991, three years after he was obliterated by George H.W. Bush? How about John McCain and Mitt Romney?

Now that Donald Trump has been indicted for using lies about the 2020 presidential election to seek to overturn its results, it’s become a matter of grave national concern that big majorities of Republicans apparently don’t think he was lying at all. A new CNN survey shows that 69 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents do not believe “Joe Biden legitimately won enough votes to win the presidency” in 2020. It’s worth asking what if anything might have convinced them to believe Biden’s win was legitimate, if only to establish what could happen differently in 2024 to avoid another contested Democratic win — if not an attack on the Capitol.
