In the decades during which I have followed politics and social issues, I have seen passionate disagreements among Americans. The Vietnam War was the focus of massive protests. Legalized abortion, after Roe v. Wade, was followed by bombings. Racial integration was accompanied by murders by racist militants. Unenforced laws, including immigration and retail theft, have left us feeling betrayed by our government. The list goes on. Somehow, we survived.
Then came the transsexual movement, complete with "drag-queen story hours" for young children. Some of those children have become the victims of surgical mutilation.

For some, one of the more notable attributes associated with the idea of there being a God is the binary choice He is said to have offered mankind: be His friend, and you'll be blessed by Him for eternity; choose otherwise, and you'll be left with an eternity that, at best, will be damned regrettable...to say the least.
Through the ages, many have wrestled with the rightness or wrongness of this concept, including the scientist and mathematician Blaise Pascal. It was he who put the real issue on the table with what has come to be known as Pascal's Wager:

A Democratic presidential candidate who shocked some of his supporters by agreeing to speak at an upcoming convention of conservative parents rights activists now says he will be unable to attend.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was due to speak at the Moms for Liberty summit at Philadelphia this week, but dropped out “for family reasons,” a press person for the campaign tells the Sun.
A Moms for Liberty co-founder, Tiffany Justice, dropped the news Tuesday, saying the Kennedy campaign “told us his schedule changed and he can no longer speak to our summit.” The group had been advertising Mr. Kennedy’s appearance, but his name is now removed from the schedule.

In the latest episode of Tucker on Twitter, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson made a rather bold prediction about the 2024 election.
Carlson pointed out that the recently released WhatsApp messages from Hunter Biden to his Chinese business partner proved that Joe Biden was involved in (or at the very least knew about) Hunter Biden’s influence-peddling schemes. He called the messages a “smoking gun” that “would have been enough to cripple a normal president, would have been more than enough to keep a normal president from running for office again,” yet they had “virtually no effect on Joe Biden.” Why? Because the mainstream media relentlessly defends him from his scandals.

Several Dutch citizens who had autism or other intellectual disabilities have died by physician-assisted suicide in recent years after doctors determined their afflictions were untreatable obstacles to a normal life, researchers found.
Nearly 40 people who identified as autistic or intellectually disabled were legally euthanized in the Netherlands between 2012 and 2021, according to a Kingston University investigation of Dutch euthanasia cases.Five people younger than 30 who were killed at their own request cited autism as the sole or a major reason for their decision to end their lives, the UK study found.

Members of President Biden’s family may have accepted in excess of $40 million from foreign nationals in exchange for favorable policy decisions, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer suggested Wednesday.
The Kentucky Republican said that his panel has identified “six specific policy decisions” where Biden, 80, took actions that indicate he may have been “compromised,” during an appearance on John Catsimatidis’ “Cats & Cosby Show” on WABC 770 Wednesday.

Bowing to popular demand to expand upon my recent analysis of the DeSantis strategy, I note that all the smart insiders, like @MAGAKing69 and @TrumpMemeLord4976, have come to a conclusion – it's time for Governor Ron DeSantis to pull out of the race. It's all over, seven months before the actual voting, because the polls they like reinforce their (and the Bulwark sissies', and the Democrats') hope that Heavy D just can't touch the Trump.

The Supreme Court’s decision in Moore v. Harper to reject the independent state legislature theory could give Special Counsel Jack Smith a free hand to bring charges — including, possibly, against President Trump — in respect of efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
By a 6-to-3 vote, the high court held that notwithstanding the Constitution’s Elections Clause, the national parchment “does not exempt state legislatures from the ordinary constraints imposed by state law,” meaning that state lawmakers are bound by state constitutions and the judges who interpret them.

Three school districts in the state of New Jersey require parental notification if a child begins transitioning their gender. As a result, they are being sued by the state.
This is outrageous and shows that concerned parents who have been showing up at school board meetings in recent years had every right to be worried about where things are going.
Imagine such a monumental thing happening to your child and the school you fund with your tax dollars hiding it from you.

A New York state appeals court has thrown out New York Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit against Ivanka Trump alleging she engaged in fraud while working at the Trump Organization.

James sued the Trump Organization, former President Donald Trump and his three eldest children – Ivanka, Donald Jr. and Eric – in September 2022, alleging they misled banks, insurance companies and others about the value of the 77-year-old family patriarch’s assets, including golf courses and Mar-a-Lago.
As part of her lawsuit, the attorney general is seeking $250 million in damages from the Trump family and a ban on the clan doing business in New York.

Former US President Donald Trump has sued the writer E Jean Carroll for defamation, alleging she falsely accused him of rape after a jury found he sexually abused her.
Last month, the civil jury in New York found he sexually abused and defamed the columnist but did not rape her.
Mr Trump's claim, filed on Tuesday, relates to comments Ms Carroll made on CNN a day after that verdict.
When asked about Mr Trump's liability for rape, she said "oh yes he did".
The claim is seeking a retraction of that comment as well as unspecified compensation and punitive damages.
