I’ve told this story before, but it bears repeating here. Once upon a time, I wanted to be an Episcopal priest. The diocese in which I was living rejected me. (snip) But one Sunday, an older “supply,” or substitute priest, took me aside and told me not to take it personally. (snip) But he continued, “Right now, the diocese is not accepting straight, white men for the ordination process. But if you hang in there, you might have a chance in a few years or so.” (snip) The United Methodist Church lost a significant number of parishes over the weekend.

Excellent news. The national church leadership of essentially all the Protestant churches are hard core Communist, anti-Christian, doing evil, not good.

I hope they will connect with others who have left aberrant denominations—such as the LCMC and NALC (Lutheran) and the ACNA (Anglican).

My Methodist congregation which was part of the Alabama - West Florida conference voted 92% to leave. Yesterday was the day we became part of the Global Methodist Church. My problem with the UMC was the failure of the Bishops to uphold the Book of Discipline. After all, they took a vow to do that when they were ordained. Yet, the UMC has a Bishop who lives openly in a same sex marriage. This causes me to wonder if she lied when she made her commitment in front of GOD and witnesses to uphold the Book of Discipline. If so, how could anyone believe anything else she says? The African UMC Bishops have been instrumental in stopping the American Bishops from "modernizing" the Book of Discipline. Christians in Africa and other areas of the world will one day see the USA as their primary missionary field.

Sitting in a church no more makes one a Christian than sitting in a garage makes one a car.
If someone (lay person, priest, bishop, denominational board, etc) claims to be "Christian", but disavows its central tenets, then...wait for it....they are not really Christian at all.

As the Christian Church continues to decline in the West, so it is ascending in Africa and Asia.

#1~ With all due respect, not ALL Protestant national church leadership can or should be categorized by the sweeping statement of being “hard core Communist, anti-Christian, doing evil, not good.” Noting the caveat of “essentially” is appropriate and appreciated.
#2~ For individuals not familiar with Lutheran churches, the following clarification is offered with special emphasis on not confusing the LCMC with the LCMS; they are two distinct Lutheran synods but within the Lutheran mainstream. (Reference: Wikipedia)
LCMC – Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ
Is an association of Lutheran congregations located primarily in the United States; an affiliation of autonomous Lutheran churches and not a denomination; it began in 2001 in response to some liberal views by the ELCA; it describes itself as “centrist” or “mainstream” and stands between the more liberal ELCA and more conservative LCMS and other Lutheran church bodies in North America.
NALC – North American Lutheran Church
Is a Lutheran denomination with over 420 congregations; established on August 27, 2010 in response to the dissatisfaction with the ELCA moving away from the authority of the Bible and the Lutheran Confessions; it embodies the “theological center of Lutheranism in North America” and stands between the more liberal ELCA and the more conservative LCMS and other Lutheran church bodies in North America, “firmly within the global Lutheran mainstream.”

the "church" was merely an arm of Greenpeace, so not a big deal

#6~ Addendum:
LCMS – Lutheran Church Missouri Synod
A traditional, confessional Lutheran denomination; roots “trace back to 1847 when Saxon and other German immigrants established a new church body in America, seeking the freedom to practice and follow confessional Lutheranism; originally named The German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States, the name was shortened to The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod in 1947 on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.”

I don’t know which, if any denomination of Christianity is right. I do know how to tell the more obviously evil pretend Christian churches out there.
If a church openly supports homosexuality, baby murder, or communism. There’s no question at all. They oppose God and support Satan.
If a church is huge and rich and talks about how God wants you to be rich here on Earth that’s also a church that is selling a tempting Satanic lie.
If a church talks about turning the other cheek and never defend yourself they’ve added words to God’s word and ignored other parts of God’s words like modern day Pharisees. (They make their version of Christianity into a suicide pact.)
I don’t trust any church I’ve encountered so far.

Not accepting anything but gays? That is heretical, evil and just disgraceful! Lord help us!

Reply #3 might have been quoting my wife when she argued for disaffiliation at her UMC here in WI. The vote was equally one-sided, and we're raising money to buy the church property itself.
Outcome: a *growing* congregation, with people coming from further and further away to join a church that matches their faith.

It's sad when you drive by a Methodist Church and the rainbow flags and the "A Blessed Ramadan to Our Muslim Neighbors" signs are more prominent than the cross.

Praising God for this news. In other conferences, the bishops are playing hardball and not letting congregations disaffiliate as they desire. My understanding is that in Texas the numbers of churches moving to the GMC is even larger than this group.
Of course none of the UMCs in the super liberal northeast are making any such moves. I left mine in 2015.. It closed and is now a 'community arts center' or some such thing. Another ex-UMC church near my hometown houses a radio station.
The Lord is in charge of His Church.

In NH the new bishop in the United Methodist Church is a lesbien with a transgender wife and a gay son.
I am looking for a new church , one which follows the Holy Bible.
God will not be mocked!!
