Earlier this month, former San Francisco Fire Commissioner Don Carmignani was attacked by a homeless person with a crowbar. The attacker, Garrett Doty, was one of a group of vagrants who had been blocking Carmignani’s mother’s driveway and acting in a threatening fashion. The attack sent the former fire chief to the hospital for emergency surgery with a hole in the back of his skull. He also had a broken jaw and required fifty stitches. This looked like a fairly open-and-shut case, but last night the San Fran District Attorney’s office suddenly dropped the charges against Doty and dismissed the case.

Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira is a flight risk who 'must remain detained', federal prosecutors have argued ahead of his appearance in federal court in Massachusetts on Thursday. Teixeira is due to appear for a detention hearing, charged with the unauthorized retention and transmission of national defense information and willful retention of classified documents after allegedly sharing military docs in a chat room on Discord. Prosecutors argue he may still have access to secret information that he could expose, claiming he took deliberate steps to undermine the investigation into the leak -

A federal court in Washington found rapper Pras Michel, former artist for The Fugees, guilty on Wednesday of colluding with the Chinese government. “The Grammy-winning artist and former member of the Fugees faced multiple counts over the failed conspiracy to help Malaysian businessman Jho Low and the Chinese government gain access to U.S. officials, including former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump,” reported CNN. Michel now faces up to 20 years in prison after being found “guilty of conspiracy to defraud the US, witness tampering and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government.” Michel remained largely silent throughout the proceedings on Wednesday.

Tucker Carlson has been trending on Twitter this week, after being let go by Fox News on Monday. If things go the way Elon Musk is planning, Carlson’s show would be trending every day on Twitter, because he has the potential to be the first megastar of Twitter’s new platform. (Snip) Many Twitter users were speculating that Carlson will want to go to a platform that won’t censor him, and articles have speculated that Carlson was being censored by Fox News. At the suggestion that Twitter should hire Carlson, Musk replied, “[W]e don’t hire anyone, but simply enable content creators to prosper on this platform

Minnesota state Rep. Harry Niska, R., asked during a debate on a new bill whether praise for "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling or arguing that COVID originated in China would qualify as biased speech that would put citizens on a government database. Minnesota lawmakers are mulling a change to state law, House File 181, that would log alleged bias incidents even when they aren't considered a crime. The bill, introduced in January, would allow people to report perceived bias-related incidents such as alleged slurs and verbal attacks that would fall outside the hate crimes compiled annually by the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, according to the St. Cloud Times.

As RedState reported, Joe Biden got caught red-handed again with a “cheat sheet” while giving a press conference on Wednesday. This time was a bit different than past occurrences, though. Biden has previously been observed having a pre-approved list of reporters on hand as well as outlines spelling out every syllable he’s supposed to utter. What made this time more concerning was that he had the actual question the reporter was set to ask him as well. In all my time following politics, I’ve never seen anything like this. (Snip) The excuse here will likely be that because this was a joint presser with a foreign dignitary, questions needed to be pre-screened.

Earlier this year I noted that the mainstream acceptance of transgenderism would be the precursor to the normalization of pedophilia. The evidence to support this was quite clear. And I’m sorry to say that I was right. The Minnesota legislature is in the process of changing the legal definition of “sexual orientation” that literally opens the door to mainstreaming pedophilia. Here’s how it’s being done. The bill modifies the existing Minnesota law that designates sexual orientation as a protected category, making it unlawful to discriminate based on sexual orientation within the state. The first thing it does is adds a definition for gender identity: (Snip) But this is not even the most

In one of the most memorable presidential debate moments, Ronald Reagan asked voters if they were better off in 1980 than they were when Jimmy Carter was elected in 1976. The obvious answer was, for most, a resounding “no.” Whoever runs against the Democratic nominee next year needs to bring back that question, because it’s a certainty that in the fall of 2024, we’ll still be worse off than we were in pre-pandemic 2020. And for that, we can thank, or rather blame, Joe Biden. In a poll taken earlier this year, 41% of Americans said they were financially worse off

Fox “parting ways” with Tucker Carlson was an insane move by any standards of business, given how popular his show was on the network. As we noted, it didn’t seem to have affected Carlson’s mood, as he seemed to be having a good time with his wife down in Florida. He also put out a video on Twitter. While he didn’t talk specifically about the “parting of the ways,” I think he was making it clear that he wasn’t going to be silenced. But it is affecting Fox. They’ve taken a huge hit in just one day since the news broke on Monday.

WASHINGTON—She swaggered, she jabbed, she inspired. She even joked. Anyone looking for a glimpse of what Vice President Kamala Harris could bring to the campaign trail would have found it this week at Howard University, where she headlined a rally for reproductive rights. After two years of tightly scripted, uneven performances that often dismayed Democrats and cheered Republicans, Harris is looser, more forceful and more willing to speak off the cuff following her trip to Africa a month ago. “That is the vice president that America is going to get a chance to get to know for the first time,” said Laphonza Butler, a former adviser to Harris who leads EMILY’s List.

Although the RNC disclosed that the ad was AI-generated, the corporate media still went into freakout mode. The 30-second ad, called “Beat Biden,” uses AI image generation to produce images of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and images of some doom-laden hypothetical scenarios if the current occupant of the White House wins re-election. Florida Gov. The murder rates in major US Cities have soared more than 10% in the past two years — with most homicides occurring in Democratic areas with soft-on-crime policies. In a study released by WalletHub Wednesday, researchers found that Memphis, Tennesse; New Orleans, Louisana; Richmond, Virginia; Washington, DC; and Detroit, Michigan are suffering from the biggest homicide rate problems. All five cities are led by left-wing mayors. After comparing the rise in murder rates in 45 of the country’s most populated cities between 2021 and 2023, scholars noticed that killings were rising faster in Democrat-led cities than in their Republican counterparts.

Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price declined to add gun and gang enhancements to murder raps against the suspects — a “staggering” move which could significantly lessen their sentences. “Not filing gun and gang enhancements in a case like this is an extreme departure from California criminal law practice,” veteran Los Angeles County prosecutor Jason Lustig told The Post. “It’s extreme.” The Berkeley Scanner first reported the lack of enhancements alongside basic murder charges and called it a “break in precedent”
