Fox News’ Loss of Tucker Carlson Could

Tucker Carlson has been trending on Twitter this week, after being let go by Fox News on Monday. If things go the way Elon Musk is planning, Carlson’s show would be trending every day on Twitter, because he has the potential to be the first megastar of Twitter’s new platform. (Snip) Many Twitter users were speculating that Carlson will want to go to a platform that won’t censor him, and articles have speculated that Carlson was being censored by Fox News. At the suggestion that Twitter should hire Carlson, Musk replied, “[W]e don’t hire anyone, but simply enable content creators to prosper on this platform

Comments:

Tucker would have to create his own infrastructure so he would have to invest something and work hard to set it up. I don't know if he is the kind of guy to do that. I'd like to see him partner with Mark Steyn, who has his own show online. The two of them get along wonderfully and have similar worldviews.

It would be great if Tucker was on 600 radio stations like Limbaugh was. Seems like he could reach more people that way.

I hope that he doesn’t go to Twitter. Even with Musk at the helm, I still refuse to join.

Rush never liked TV. He wasn't comfortable with it. But his truth resonated. Tucker could be TV's Rush Limbaugh.

I'd love for Tucker to host his show on Twitter, Twitter still has a massive reach and unlike YouTube, he wouldn't be censored.

The whole world is commenting on and speculating about the abrupt departure of former Fox commentator Tucker Carlson from that network. Addressing the current moment is not my intent. (Snip) What I want to do now is note, for the record, almost elegiacally, how important Mr Carlson’s voice has been, in the evaluation of at least this dyed-in-the-wool old-school capital “L” Liberal. Mr Carlson and I spent most of our careers not in alignment on anything; for decades, our places were adversarial on the public chess board. He had assumed that I was the caricature of a shrieking, irrational left-wing feminist

The great sorting that’s taking place

During busy news cycles, it’s hard to write posts. Each story screams for attention, creating analysis paralysis. What struck me today, though, was that many of the stories we’re seeing are part of something much larger, which is what I call the “Great Sorting.” All the old patterns are broken, and people are rethinking their allegiances. Before the 21st century, the world’s patterns were predictable. You could divide history into the era before the Soviet Union collapsed and after the collapse. (Snip) And then, literally overnight, the Soviet Union collapsed. Americans blithely assumed that the free world had won, and the hard work was over.

I’m not sure why it’s happening -- perhaps it’s a backlash from the most obnoxious of the feminists and their conduct or the widespread denigration of and discrimination against white heterosexual men, but there’s no doubt in my mind that there’s a concerted attack by the culture warriors to erase women, denigrate them, and allow them only symbolic powers -- like choosing the moronic Kamala Harris as vice president instead of someone with a demonstrated and earned record of competence. How long has it been since we’ve seen women we looked up to, like Golda Meier and Maggie Thatcher, wielding political power?

Decriminalizing marijuana, we’ve been told to the point of stupor for years, would simply be a matter of recognizing the way society has changed and coming to a mature accommodation of a widespread current practice. (Snip) The New York Post reported last Monday that “the Sunday night murder inside a Harlem ‘smoke shop’ near the corner of 125th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard — the second shooting in the neighborhood in the last year — is a savage reminder of the state’s stupendously disastrous legalization of marijuana.” It seems that the state went about the legalization by “virtually eliminating the entire criminal code pertaining to marijuana overnight.”

What qualities should medical schools look for in future doctors? Probably academic excellence, experience in the medical sector, loyalty to medical ethics, and good interpersonal skills. These are all characteristics that future doctors should have, but they’re not what medical schools now emphasize. Medical schools are looking for social justice zealots to advance the diversity, equity, and inclusion dogma. A Missouri school district plans to include the personal pronouns “they/them” in math problems and hire certified teachers as “math interventionists” to fight racism and gender bias in math classes after a curriculum evaluation. “A persistent myth within math education is that since ‘numbers are universal,’ math classrooms are objective and free of bias,” says the Webster Groves School District’s Math Program Evaluation, which was presented Thursday during a Board of Education meeting. “Research shows clearly that any space where learning occurs is neither free of bias nor resistant to oppressive systems such as racism, sexism, classism or xenophobia,” Susan Bergman, the district’s math curriculum director, wrote

There has been considerable concern since before the start of the war in Ukraine about the influence of National Socialists, or Nazis, there, and now it has gotten considerably worse. Rather than apologize for or at very least ignore the nation’s past ties to National Socialism, the city council in the nation’s capital of Kyiv is reportedly considering naming a street after a National Socialist collaborator who actually served in the SS during the Holocaust, Volodymyr Kubiyovych. Apparently the Ukrainian government is so certain that Western aid will continue that it feels no hesitation about flaunting its openness to National Socialism.

When I originally made this Substack, I found myself in a very frustrating position—I had something I felt was essential for the world to know. (Snip) One of the reasons we lack doctors everyone wants to see is because those who try to do the right thing get pushed out of the system. Because there is so much corporate control of medicine, even doctors who want to do the right thing know they have no recourse if the hospital turns against them. Those doctors thus have to choose between toeing the line and doing their best within those circumstances or leaving the system entirely.

Dylan Mulvaney has already cost Bud Light what is assumed to be millions of dollars (17 percent drop in sales), but he’s not done causing chaos yet. The transgender “influencer” entered into the broader public eye after Joe Biden invited him to the White House back in 2022. Think about that. A president who hasn’t done a challenging interview since he took office found time to receive softballs from a grown man who pretends to be a prepubescent girl. But I digress. Mulvaney has been propped up by corporate America despite only claiming to be a “girl” for a little over a year.

Democrats have mostly given up on denying that Joe Biden is suffering from an advanced stage of dementia. Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) and state lawmakers reached an agreement to phase out natural gas hookups in new buildings beginning in 2025, a first-of-its-kind state law designed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and transition to cleaner sources of energy. Hochul said Thursday she reached a handshake deal with lawmakers on the agreement, which was included in New York’s fiscal 2024 budget. Though the budget stops short of an explicit ban on natural gas appliances, it will ban natural gas hookups in most new residential and commercial buildings under seven stories beginning in 2026. By 2029, that will extend to larger industrial and commercial properties as well.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Iran's navy seized a Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday heading to the U.S. amid wider tensions over Tehran's nuclear program, the latest-such capture in a waterway crucial for global energy supplies. Satellite tracking data for the vessel from MarineTraffic.com showed it in the Gulf of Oman, just north of Oman's capital, Muscat, on Thursday afternoon. It had just come from Kuwait and listed its destination as Houston. The Advantage Sweet issued a distress call at 1:15 p.m. while in international waters as Iran seized

A troubling societal issue called "transableism" is attracting attention these days. Transableism is a newer term for BIID, or "Body Integrity Identity Disorder," in which a person actually "identifies" as handicapped. BIID has been relabeled to transableism to align with today's trans community, according to some. The point of "changing the identifier" from a psychiatric condition (BIID) to an advocacy term (transableism) is to "harness the stunning cultural power of gender ideology" to the cause of allowing doctors to "treat" BIID patients by "amputating healthy limbs, snipping spinal cords or destroying eyesight," according to Evolution News and Science Today
