Why Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump

It appears that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will go another week in the legal effort to locate the nation of Kailasa on a map. Recently, Mayor Ras Baraka and the city of Newark held a formal ceremony signing a partnership with the nation of Kailasa that pledged mutual cultural, social and political development. After all of the fanfare, pomp and circumstance subsided, a small problem emerged. Kailasa does not exist.

Where is Hochul? The Governor of NY allows the DA's to run amok. Her silence or acquiesce is complicit approval of Alvin-Sharpton-Wannabe-Bragg's performance as DA of Manhattan. Both should be ashamed.

Let's keep it simple. 1) There is no case, and never has been. DOJ had the "goods" and decline prosecution. 2) Discussing this in legal terms is nonsense. There is no legal basis for this examination by grand jury in NYC except to try to torpedo FPDT's presidential aspirations by indicting and trying him as the '24 election season approaches. Who'd support an indicted "felon"? 3) FPDT has been masterful in turning this inquisition on its head. By merely "expecting" his arrest, the world spun off its axis and remains in this state. FPDT made himself the center of the political, media and public conversation universes. The "expectation" that he would be arrested, maybe perp walked in an orange jumpsuit, was too much to resist. And the comedy continues with daily episodes that have put the DA in a corner he cannot escape, with "no indictment" appearing the way out. 4) This show also boxed in two of FPDT's opponents. DeSantis has apparently peed on his shoes dealing with this, or has been portrayed as doing so. Haley has been silent. They both are taking heat for not supporting FPDT in his hour of need. It has riled the MAGA Nation to action and hardened any resistance to even considering the other two "candidates" by those softer-support Trumpistas. How will it play in Iowa, new Hampshire and other early primary/caucus states? That's a question that is open. I continue to marvel at this Broadway production and its continuous morphasis. It appears more and more like it will end as a gross embarrassment for the grand inquisitor, although one never knows what a grand jury might do. They may indict and he may refuse to prosecute. Stand by...with plenty of popcorn.

"Let the jury consider their verdict,” the King said, for about the twentieth time that day. “No, no!” said the Queen. “Sentence first—verdict afterwards.” Lewis Carroll thought he was writing fantasy, not prophecy. Only in this case it's a Democrat knave trying to upend the law. Democrats live in a fantasy land where up is down, men are women, black is white, wrong is right. The problem is they want the rest of us to live there, too and have gained enough power to try to make it happen.

#4, I agree with most of your points, except the following: Who'd support an indicted "felon"? Since the indictment would be politically motivated and fraudulent, neither the indictment nor any possible conviction by a NY ideological jury, NOR any possible incarceration would deter me from voting for Trump. In fact, such unfair actions would make me consider it my sacred duty and moral imperative as a still-free citizen of the United States to vote for Trump. There is no doubt in my mind that Trump could run this country better from prison than Biden does from his basement in Rehoboth Beach,

Who Owns the University? 3 replies

The most recent shout-down debacle at Stanford’s law school, one of many such recent sordid episodes, prompts the question: “Who owns our universities?” The law students who are in residence for three years apparently assume they embody the university. And so, they believe they represent and speak for a score of diverse Stanford interests when they shout down federal Judge Kyle Duncan, as if he were an intruder into their own woke private domain. After all, Stanford, like most of the Ivy League universities, is a private institution. Are then its board of trustees, its faculty, its students, and its administration de facto overseers and owners? Not really.

President Joe Biden's job approval rating has fallen to 38% in a new poll from the Associated Press and the National Opinion Research Center — close to his lowest rating ever in that poll. Just last month, Biden's rating was 45%, which was as high as it has been since his rating began a long slide a few months after he took office. What's going on? The economy. In the month since Biden's previous, higher rating, people have become deeply concerned about the safety of the banking system. They have renewed worries about inflation. They are concerned about some difficult-to-understand maladies affecting world economic stability.

Minnesota lawmakers on Thursday advanced legislation that would establish the state as a "trans refuge" for children who are seeking transgender medical procedures but who may be denied "gender-affirming care" in other states. In a party-line 68-62 vote, the Minnesota House passed HF 146, which had been introduced by Rep. Leigh Finke of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. Finke is the state's first transgender lawmaker. Democrats supporting the bill say the legislation will protect transgender people, their families and healthcare providers from facing legal repercussions for traveling to Minnesota to obtain cross-sex hormone prescriptions or sex-change procedures.

For years, President Biden has maintained a Sgt. Schultz defense ("I know nothing, nothing!") to counter allegations that his family has profiteered on influence peddling with foreign countries and companies. Despite mounting evidence to the contrary, Biden maintains that he "knows nothing, nothing" about son Hunter Biden's business deals. He recently doubled down on this defense by even denying that family members received money from foreign sources. He repeated his denial even after the release of financial transfer reports from his own administration showing millions transferred from China. Now, emails have emerged that show that Biden personally helped draft responses to the controversial deals in 2015

The banking crisis is like a brick thrown into our economic pond. Busted banks don’t just sink silently to the bottom, never to be heard of again. Their plunge sends ripples out across the entire surface that wash into every financial inlet of our lives. If you think this has nothing to do with you because you didn’t invest in Silicon Valley Bank or keep an account there, think again. The spreading circles of its demise will splash you if you merely feel the pinch of high interest rates or buy groceries. Thanks, President Joe Biden! Why? Because his policies are to blame.

Republican lawmakers on Friday lambasted President Biden for his response to the death of an American in Syria, arguing that he's showing weakness and failing to deter America's adversaries. The criticism came one day after Biden ordered the U.S. military to carry out retaliatory airstrikes in Syria, where Iranian forces had killed a U.S. contractor and wounded six other Americans in a drone strike. The U.S. launches reportedly killed eight Iranians. Iranian-backed proxy forces then proceeded to carry out their own retaliatory strikes on Friday, launching rockets that targeted a U.S. base in northeast Syria. There are no U.S. casualties and no damage to the base, according to first assessments.

After the Chinese Communist Party’s 1949 victory in China’s civil war, the question of “Who lost China” rocked Washington. As President Biden makes his first presidential trip to Ottawa this week, he should ask if the next country about which that question will be asked is Canada. The loss would not be economic. The U.S.-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade pact continues to underpin a vast economic relationship neither party wants to undermine, although recent Biden administration policies to promote “Buy America” are an irritant that violates the spirit of that agreement. Canada, as the smaller and more trade-dependent partner, cannot afford to lose the privileged access to U.S. markets that the USMCA ensures.

When Dianne Feinstein arrived in Washington in 1992, her home state of California was solidly purple and Republican Pete Wilson occupied the governor’s office. More than 30 years later, as the oldest member of Congress and California’s longest serving senator prepares to retire, her state is arguably the most reliably blue in the US. Feinstein’s protracted career as a senator also charts the rise of California as a political power player on Capitol Hill, whose 55 electoral votes – the largest block by far, with Texas and Florida as distant seconds – have helped guarantee a Democrat in the White House for six out of the last eight terms.
