America’s top medical schools, worried they have too few minority students, are doing something about it. They are lowering academic standards for admission and trying to hide the evidence. Columbia, Harvard, the University of Chicago, Stanford, Mount Sinai, and the University of Pennsylvania have already done so. The list already tops forty, and more are sure to follow.
Of course, the universities won’t admit what they are doing – and certainly not why. All they will say is that their new standards add “equity” and “lived experience.” Unfortunately, adding those factors inevitably lessens the weight given to others.

That is the most bigoted move yet! They are saying that Minority students aren't as smart as anyone else so maybe you better find a doctor who isn't a Minority. What is that doing to a smart Minority student who would be a great doctor? These smug idiots have just trashed their career..
These so called educators and dangerous to society

And all they've done is to make sure the majority of Americans will not go to a minority doctor. Right?
Here's a good idea. Every single elected politician, by law, must have a minority doctor, dentist or lawyer for themselves and their families. That would soon put a stop to this nonsense.

If this remains true, you have to wish good luck to the just regular people residing in so-called minority “communities” that could end up with a whole bunch of substandard doctors and healthcare! While the leftists and socialist activists and operatives who push the “woke” so-called equity agenda have the wherewithal to receive their healthcare from the best doctors.

Doctors will be replaced by AI in the not too distant future.
As it is, doctors are not doctors , but conveyers of what insurance ( socialized medicine committee) and pharmaceutical industry ( Chinese owned and controlled) decide is in your best interests.

When I visit doctors - - I don't care about their medical qualifications and experience.
What I really care about - - is what happened to their families three hundred years ago. If they had bad experiences back then - - I want them to take care of my health now.
What could possibly be more logical than that?

It's not like it's anything new.

The left is insane. Dropping merit in medical schools, airline pilots and air traffic controllers. Frankly, I would also like a competent lawyer, accountant, teacher, auto mechanic, plumber, carpenter, electrician, police, fireman, or anyone else hired for a job.

Malpractice is going to soar. Health in all its forms does not appear easy. When you lower standards to be "fair," disaster is just around the corner. "Well, I wasn't good enough for the NBA or the NFL, guess I'll have to send those med school applications out..."

Letting someone in under different criteria is one thing, but they still have to get through the rigors of the program, then their rotation.

This policy failure harms all the medicine trainees, including the non-minorities and top performers because the rigorous program must be diluted down to allow the affirmative action enrollees a reasonable chance for success. It's the old teach down to the lowest common denominator. Therefore, even the top if the class is less well trained. I fear for my profession.

It was never an accident or a matter of desperate “need” that this country imported thousands of Middle Eastern physicians or Muslim men for admission to too medical schools starting in the Clinton administration. Who believes there were a severe lack of white Europeans outstanding English-speaking students or doctors wanting to come? Many of them were rejected to give preference to ME applicants.
This move is in your face bigotry and more of the same to populate medicine (rich areas as well as poor) with the colors and religions that government wishes for us.

I’ve had several excellent doctors who were minorities, primarily of East Indian descent. The lesson I learn from this latest idiocy by the left is never to go to a doctor who is under the age of 50.

One of the major reasons I prefer white male doctors, older white women (who had to get in before quotas), or Asians in that order. I do have an Eqyptian ENT (who I'd guess is a Copt) who speaks perfect English with a Texas accent so I assume he came over here as a child or was born here to naturalized citizens.

So both the medical and legal professions are dumbing down doctors and lawyers. What are we left with, quacks in both professions. Excellence is cast aside for identity box checking. America is FU'd.

The North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners removed one entire section from the exam that MD’s must pass to practice - apparently some groups had a high fail rate on that section.
My GP told me not to use any MD who graduated from UNC Med School after 2019. (His alma mater).

30 years ago, almost every doctor I saw was a white male. They were all smart and very talented at the practice of medicine.
Now it seems like every doctor at the group we go to is either a woman or a foreigner (bonus points if you are both I guess). They mis-diagnose more often than not, and I'm sure part of that is that they really don't understand us all that clearly. Sadly, while there are some really good female doctors, many of them definitely come across as "affirmative action" medical school graduates.
I do have one Asian male doctor (specialist) who is a 2nd or 3rd generation American with a perfect American accent. I love him. The rest are all older white males. I am in my 60's, so hopefully I can keep most of these doctors for the rest of my time here on Earth. But I really feel sad for my kids and grandkids.

Add that to the coddling of limited hours during training and you have an inadequate seasoned work force of “health care providers” who are prima Donna shift workers that care about themselves more than their patients. After meeting the real world they commit suicide at higher rates because they are ill prepared for the job. Foreign doctors who have non-pampered training may be the better doctors at this point in history.

At least the Medical schools haven't lowered their standards as low as the American people have for president. When medical schools admitted demented perverts that the highlight of their day is piling their diaper, then we are really screwed.

The most oppressed individual in the country? A white male. They bear the burden of a sin that they have never committed.
If white privilege is a real thing, then why do we not see a soaring economy, beautiful cities with zero poverty, amazing advances in science and technology flourishing in African nations? Blaming a group of people for the inability of others to succeed is racist. What is causing so much trouble in every nation in the world is the abandonment of God. Those Ten Rules He gave us so that we could all get along has been rejected and we are all worse off for it.

The leftists' "god" of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (aka "DEI"), has totally blinded them to the obvious, which is that society needs to produce ONLY the very BEST medical professionals, because each and every one of us depends on one, two, or more Doctors to care for us from time to time. This would always hold true, unless you're a Cyborg in which case the need for electronics technicians trumps any need for medical professionals.

The failures needing rectification are in k-12. Instead of programming the kids in the indoctrination of every kind of sexual proclivity (and perversity), to the exclusion of academics, educators ought to be true educators and make sure kids learn well the BASICS of reading, writing and arithmetic.
They need safe schools, safe for teachers as well as students; safe trip to and from school.
The woke dopes have dumbed-down k-12 education, then college, now graduate levels where the society will suffer the greatest, gravest impact.
This is purely STUPID.

Next generation will be even worse. Fortunately my Jewish Doctor is much younger than I am, so I will keep him.

This is sad to see. Healthcare is in a crisis in this country; lesser qualified people are now going to add to the crisis. Up until this new mandate, you could rest assured the physician you see is likely qualified. Soon, it appears, this is not going to be the case. Lesser qualified people/physicians will be adding more to the healthcare crisis in this country.

Reply to #1: Look at medical school requirements. At one time in a midwestern state black medical students had to have a GPA of 2.5 while white males were told to have a minimum GPA of 3.50 but actually, it needed to be higher for admissions consideration. Not sure this is still the case.
