Cody Nobles hopes to study environmental science or marine biology at a college on a shoreline town, where he can observe ocean life firsthand.
But after his native Florida adopted legislation restricting LGBTQ rights, Nobles, who is gay, is planning to find a similar environment in a different political climate. The 19-year-old says he wouldn't have to worry as much about discrimination or even physical assault in California.

This is the definition of ‘win-win’! The states protect their citizens AND keep Leftist college students out of the state. Bingo!

What right did Florida ban, beside allowing the use of the restroom of their choice. But both the offended and residents of Florida will be happy if he goes somewhere else.

A few weeks ago, I had a discussion with an older left of center gentleman. He didn't like DeSantis because of the "Don't Say Gay" bill. When I informed him that, that was nowhere in the bill and that the bill specifically prohibited teaching sex and gender issues for third graders and below, he was surprised. Whereupon he took the position that of course we shouldn't be teaching these subjects to children and if anything, the bill didn't go far enough.
The problem with this college brat is that he's too stupid to find the facts on his own. He relies on the mainstream media, social media and fellow liberals for his information.

Even though the biased article is supposed to be a “Woe is the Alphabet Soup Group”…. I fail to see a downside here. The vast majority of sane people in this country are sick and tired of this crap, see it as irretrievably damaging to young people, and are finally standing up and pointing out, rightly, what a disgusting clown show this is. These idiots are shocked that parents want their rights to raise their kids free of satanic brainwashing. I back any state who is willing stand up and say, “Enough”.

This is merely NBC doing some pro forma anti-DeSantis propaganda. USA Today did its bit a while ago, finding gay Floridians who said they were considering leaving the state.
(Why not find find gay Floridians who actually DID leave the state? I could hazard a guess. . . .)
Americans generally are extremely tolerant. Alphabet activists are not, as Cody may discover.

The Bible, both Testaments, are very clear on the subject of homosexuality.
Think about it, Scripture calls for chastity when it comes to heterosexuality, meaning, no sex before marriage. Have you EVER heard of ANY homo boy proudly proclaim that restriction on themselves? Of course not, because homosexuality is the very expression of Hedonism, and hedonism in a society is corrosive at its core, which is why the Old Testament calls for the death penalty for anyone partaking in it. This is serious people... deadly serious.

Education should be the focus and not lifestyle. Unfortunately, that message has been blurred by a lot of institutions. When I make the comment about lifestyle, I am not talking just about sex. There are a lot of students who drink into oblivion or get drugged up while in college. Lifestyle refers to any choices made pertaining to your body or your life. And when you take God out of the picture, lifestyle becomes about whatever a person decides to do with his or her body. Why do you think there are a lot of people being easily influenced? Look at how many people claim to be impoverished and have tattoos or hardware up the ying-yang. Sadly, all of this about lifestyle. . .

Putting aside the obvious bias of this piece, why is a 19 yo still looking at colleges, and with very vague references to "a college on a shoreline town"? I suspect Cody will be living with his PFLAG mom for some time, drifting in and out of community college when he's not playing video games.
NBC is, once again, simply copying and pasting propaganda pieces from the radical left.

How does the government - - the law - - know who is a homosexual and who isn't a homosexual? What method does the law use to determine that?
Anyone?

Immature brats with inflated egos invent something new to whine about. The ban on "sexual orientation" discussions is for children in K - 3rd grade, it has zero impact FL college students. Same with access to their "hormone therapy" drugs, they're 18+, no one is blocking access to these meds for adults.

Funny how the article never asked the uninformed student what "rights" have been taken away. I haven't heard about LGBTQ people being hauled away in shackles and chains to internment camps. They are obviously still free to spread their misinformation about Florida laws. Go ahead, move away to California. You will find that people are people and those who dislike guys are everywhere. Even supposed liberal enclaves like California.

Re: poster #7, I can't tell you the numbers of friends I have on the Left who are either uniformed or ill informed and are either" too busy" or too lazy to really look in to an issue. And if you ask WHY they think the way they do, they often get angry! They point to their (good) college degrees and their general righteousness (called virtue signaling) and they can NOT be swayed by reason or even common sense. I really don't know how we are going to survive as a country with a population so willing to accept that the Merry Go Round of Democracy will go on forever and that their Party has nothing but the good of the Union ("why can't we all just get along" while raiding Trump-'s house with guns ablazing).

Why would advocates worry about students missing out on diversity? The only students opting out of “diversity opportunities” are the ones unwilling to attend a school that offers views and discussions unlike their own.

This is what the left does. Create a false narrative from something the right does in order to present liberal victims. There is no anti-LGBTQ legislation in Florida. The laws simply deny recruitment to happen in grades K-3. That’s it. You can recruit from 4th grade on, and there is certainly nothing in the education system that would affect this young man in a university. If he’s stupid enough to deny himself a marine biology degree in the best state for it—much better than CA—just because of his sexual identity, than he’s too stupid to make any major decisions in life at all.

If you ask a normal man to describe himself, words like "heterosexual" or "straight" aren't even going to be listed. He would probably mention that he is a husband, father, Christian, mechanic, golfer, etc. But specifically talking about his sexual orientation would be so foreign of a concept (because he is sexually normal after all).
But homosexuals define themselves first and foremost by their deviant unnatural sexual desires and lifestyles. Ask a homosexual to describe himself, and "homosexual" or "gay" will be the first thing they always list.
Gee, maybe if Cody all the other homosexuals would stop announcing that they are freaks and just be normal people that talk about school, sports, vacations, movies, music, etc, etc, then they wouldn't have to worry about stuff that never actually happens. Seriously, when is the last time anyone heard of an attack on a homosexual that didn't turn out to be a self-inflicted act to get attention?

There is no such thing as Anti-LGBTQ Law.
The state is merely failing to give you illegitimate "rights".to harm people.
Rights don't come from government. Move to where people persist in believing otherwise.

So, the State of Florida is supposed to have a big old sad, because this self-important narcissist is going to school in another state. Never mind, the absurdity of his idea that he would be safer from physical assault in California, where drug-crazed hobos and violent repeat criminals are allowed to run loose.
