“Operation Washout 2.0,” a law enforcement operation involving multiple agencies in Central Texas, resulted in the arrest of 250 individuals, including felons and gang members, and the seizure of weapons and narcotics, authorities announced Wednesday. “Most these individuals were not your typical ‘outstanding citizens,’” said Robert Garmon, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal. Funded and led by the U.S. Marhals Service, the operation focused on countering gang activity in specific areas of McLennan, Bell and Coryell counties. “This is what our citizens expect us to do is come together, put egos, attitudes, put all that away and come together and make our community safe,” said Todd Snyder, DPS Central Texas Regional Director.

This is how it is done. [ in contrast to Brandon-Hochul-Adams whining about more gun control laws, while not enforcing current laws, and stupid ideas like giving away free crack pipes] ''Anytime you take illegal weapons off the street, take them out of the hand of these criminals, take their dope away from them, put them in jail you are going to have a safer community.'' - Sheriff Parnell Macnamara

Hopefully there are no Soros funded prosecutors and judges in this jurisdiction that will let this vermin back into the community by nightfall.

great start getting the street level dealers but I'll wager the top level thugs were no threatened as they were warned by someone (bribed) in one of the agencies involved. There will be new "staff" on the streets quickly. No logistics issues in the drug trade. Buttigieg take notice Drugs - "we have met the enemy and it is us" Pogo - Walt Kelly

This should be done in every area of Texas. If one were done a month, it would still take over a year to make a serious dent. In consistency lies the power to really clean out the widespread gang and cartel activity! Well-done U.S. Marshal’s Service!!

What possesses a person to travel to another country for a luxury vacation only to complain it doesn’t mimic the dystopian hellscape they came from? I wouldn’t know, but perhaps Josh Freed, a writer for the Montreal Gazette, can offer some insight. That’s exactly what he did after vacationing in Florida and then returning to his home in Quebec, Canada. The obvious COVID hysteric penned an entire piece detailing the horrors of freedom that await those traveling to the Sunshine State, and it’s one of the funniest things I’ve read in a long time.

Pooja Makhijani has written a piece for the New York Times about menstruation. Here are a few suggested edits for Makhijani’s piece, free of charge: First, the sub-head: “Young people want alternatives to disposable tampons and pads — and they’re not embarrassed to talk about it.” Are “young people” looking for alternatives to disposable menstrual products, or are young women? (Surely the latter since only women menstruate.) “Still, the average menstruator can use thousands of tampons in their lifetime.” “Menstruator”? Excuse me, but the word is woman. (Also, “their” should be her.)

When President Biden pounded his hand on a podium this week and declared “I'm tired of being quiet!” when he talked about changing Senate rules to pass voters rights legislation, Democrats immediately noticed a shift. In five words, Biden — known for working across the aisle and his relationships with Republicans —was telegraphing that the new year was ushering in a more forceful and liberated version of himself. “It’s about damn time,” said one top Democratic strategist. “It’s like they kept him on a leash for far too long. No one elected restrained Joe Biden. We elected real Joe Biden.”

Just over a year ago, millions of energized young people, women, voters of color and independents joined forces to send Joe Biden to the White House. But 12 months into his presidency, many describe a coalition in crisis. Leading voices across Biden’s diverse political base openly decry the slow pace of progress on key campaign promises. The frustration was especially pronounced this past week after Biden’s push for voting rights legislation effectively stalled, intensifying concerns in his party that fundamental democratic principles are at risk and reinforcing a broader sense that the president is faltering at a moment of historic consequence.

After the Omicron variant began spreading through the United States just before the holidays, President Biden unleashed what he described as a sweeping effort to bolster the country's defenses. He pledged reinforcements for overwhelmed hospitals, more home tests to screen for infections and new investments in vaccine access. But little seems to be slowing Omicron's spread, despite Biden's insistence that he's "confident we are on the right track" as the pandemic enters its third year. Although vaccines are preventing what could have otherwise been a devastating death toll, hospitals are being pushed to their limits. Meanwhile, Americans are frustrated with confusing public health guidance...

President Joe Biden left for vacation earlier this week as the U.S. recorded the highest daily number of new coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. He concluded that there was “no federal solution” to the problem, and various spin doctors in the media urged Americans not to blame the president. But last year, on the campaign trail and as President-elect, Biden promised specifically and repeatedly that he would make sure the virus was under control.

The Biden administration is putting out new details on its effort to create 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations–with new efforts to push out funds to have them line interstates at 50-mile intervals. The administration is awarding $5 billion over five years to states to have them build thousands of electric vehicle charging stations. Another $2.5 billion will go out in grants to be decided later. It all comes from the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan that was enacted late last year and that the administration continues to sell, amid the collapse of Biden's Build Back Better plan.
