Last weekend, we celebrated the 8th birthday of one our youngest (of 18) grandchildren. For all of us, "family events" like these offer an opportunity to reflect on the future of our progeny. President Ronald Reagan (having borrowed the phrase from John Winthrop) often described our nation thus: "America is a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere." Unfortunately, given the present domestic trajectory of our country and threats from foreign adversaries, our hopes for all our grandchildren may well fall short of Reagan's vision unless things change dramatically and in short order. Herewith, some current domestic vulnerabilities: Constitutional infringement:

Unfortunately too many are hard at work to support their families and not paying attention. This should be a must-read!

Colonel North is right. This is a spiritual battle. These evil forces are after Christians and the church. A few things we can do; belong to a community of believers, hoard food & water. Stack metals; silver, gold, cash, and brass. Pray and admonish others in love. The conflict with China, Russia, and others is very serious. (Not to mention conflict with our own government & FIB)

A very good article. We have so few leaders in government who are not after God's heart. The only things they seem to be after is money or something to do with themselves. From the article: "America is a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere." It is so sad when reading this quote by Ronald Reagan especially when thinking of the big cities governed by a Democrat. There is nothing shining anymore with all of the filth, decay, cheating, corruption, murder etc. being the most visible.

It also be smart to stock up non perishable food. Find an alternative for your furnace. If all goes bad the grid will probably go out and you will be left with no electricity. After that has been said you should also have a source for drinking water. Think about this seriously. L.T.H.

Okay, so I have one more comment. I am not going to make my statement exclusive to leaders in government. There are spiritual leaders who are not after God's heart either. Close to every city or town in the United States has a church or two. How can we have so much moral decay? Take a look at the qualities of the fruit of the spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23) These are the qualities we should have of ourselves. You know what I seem to hear from spiritual leaders mostly - giving and forgiving. Now don't get me wrong, we should have those qualities too but when there is an overemphasis on them, some other things are left out. Repentance and "do no more" comes with forgiveness. Giving should be done anonymously and cheerfully. Given what I am seeing in a lot of churches, truth and honesty along with the above qualities have gone to the way side. Spiritual leaders don't even expect congregation members to read their Bible much less from beginning to end. Truly sad because being prepared comes from listening to God and trusting His wisdom, not of men. . .

Those cans of food will run out in no time. On top of that, I recall a good woman from my neighbourhood who emigrated from Britain to our city after the WWII. She had been persecuted for hoarding food. Her husband was a diplomat abroad and warned her to stockpile food for herself and their children as he knew war was imminent. You can't win.

Things are going to get worse. They may not get better. This may well be God's way of getting our attention, and recognizing we cannot go through life without him.

Why the 2020 Election was Unverifiable 0 replies
Posted by Imright 2/23/2023 5:27:25 AM Post Reply
Joe Biden acquired his job through a legal process. However, he did not earn enough verifiable votes to justify the certifications in six key swing states. This issue is addressed in my new book, but here is some of my reasoning. I have limited myself to one example of unverifiable votes for each of those swing states. Arizona At an Arizona Senate Committee hearing on January 24, 2022, we learned that precisely 95 percent of Maricopa County overseas military members (and their families) voted for Joe Biden. That is an amazing (as in phony) percentage, given that the overall county-wide vote was fairly even between Biden and Trump (51 to 49%).

New video shows the terrifying moment an alligator lunged at a woman walking her dog by a lake in her Florida community, dragging her to her death. The horrifying nightmare captured on video obtained by Inside Edition unfolded in front of a neighbor who frantically called 911 as she tried to help the woman. But it was too late.  Gloria Serge, 85, died after she was mauled to death by the 10-foot gator when she tried to rescue her beloved dog, Trooper, from the reptile's clutches on Monday.  Serge's pup survived the attacked, but the gator was later captured and euthanized.  Scroll for video

A group of 16 GOP representatives is on course to derail House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's leverage in negotiations with President Joe Biden and the Democrats over the debt ceiling. The group of 16, identified by Axios, all have never voted to raise the debt ceiling, including under former President Donald Trump, meaning they are unlikely to break their streak now. The 16 were identified as Reps. Del Toro said that China's navy has recently added over one hundred combatants to its fleet, calling it 'a naval buildup that is a key component of its increasingly aggressive military posture globally.'

The jury forewoman, Emily Kohrs, was a sudden media darling over the possibility of Trump being among those being indicted and she was downright giddy over all the attention she was getting, but her explanation of why she wanted to hear from the former president was enough to give one pause, regardless of their political affiliation. “I wanted to hear from the former president, but honestly I kinda wanted to subpoena the former president

Why would they be so upset about people viewing the footage or knowing more about what went on that day? Isn’t that what they kept saying they wanted? Yet suddenly we’re seeing them melting down and coming up with all kinds of reasons why more light on the subject is such a bad thing. We saw some of the members of the Committee — Rep. Welcome to the latest Hunter Biden reboot. Call it Dark Biden rises. Hunter has long been a reclamation project for the media and the Biden team. Despite ample evidence that he and his family may have engaged in one of the largest influence-peddling operations in history, the media have struggled to find a redeeming image for someone who’s committed his life to a toxic mix of nepotism, narcissism and narcotics. First there was “Hunter: the wrongly accused international businessman.” This blanket denial of wrongdoing was maintained by his father and dutifully repeated by the media. Hunter Biden did “nothing wrong,” and reporters pressing questions of corruption were immediately attacked.

The White House said Wednesday it moved one step closer to meeting its offshore wind energy goals by announcing the first lease sale for developments in the Gulf of Mexico. President Joe Biden set a goal of having 30 gigawatts of offshore wind installed by 2030, with another 15 GW coming from floating turbine installations by 2035. To reach that goal, the administration said it opened its first lease sale for offshore wind in the Gulf of Mexico. Three lease areas off Texas and Louisiana could support the development of enough wind energy to meet the demands of nearly 1.3 million average households, the White House in a fact sheet.

The Ukrainians have not only held their own, but have managed to liberate a good chunk of their conquered territory. They’ve been buoyed tremendously by a constant influx of Western military aid. I argue here, against a small but vocal conservative faction, that we should continue this aid. There has been plenty of unhelpful hyperbole on both sides of the debate. Prominent pro-Ukrainers have attempted to equate opposition to Ukrainian aid as opposition to democracy itself. Michael Beschloss, NBC’s resident Rent-A-Zinn, referencing members of Congress who didn’t applaud Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent speech, and in Stalinist fashion, tweeted “we need to know from them exactly why.”

Nonprofit research organization Wirepoint has looked into Illinois public schools, and their performance deserves less than an “A+.” Among more than 30 institutions of learning, zero students can read at their respective grade levels. As for math, across 53 schools, no students are proficient. The bulk of those underperforming campuses — twenty-two in the case of reading and thirty-three in the case of math — sit within the City of Chicago School District — where taxpayers annually spend between $5,929 and $56,311 per student.

While approved by the Food and Drug Administration for veterinary use, xylazine, a non-opioid, is not safe for humans,

Throughout the past year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly committed to "liberating" Crimea from Russian control. The peninsula was illegally annexed by Moscow back in 2014. "Crimea is our land, our territory," Zelensky said in January. "It is our sea and our mountains. Give us your weapons—we will return what is ours."
