He twice voted in favor of convicting former President Donald Trump in impeachment trials. He excoriated his fellow senators who objected to certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election. He even scolded New York Rep. George Santos for his audacity in grabbing a prominent seat at the State of the Union address after admitting to fabricating much of his biography.
After four years in Washington, Republican Mitt Romney has established himself as a rare senator willing to publicly rebuke members of his own party.

Two Minnesota Democratic lawmakers are proposing a pair of bills that would significantly impact the state's backyards and neighborhood ice rinks in an effort to combat climate change. State Reps. Jerry Newton and Heather Edelson, members of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, introduced legislation on Monday that would block the sale of common landscaping appliances like lawn mowers and chainsaws as well ice resurfacing machines such as Zambonis, requiring that only electric battery versions be sold in the state starting Jan. 1, 2025. The ban on lawn and garden equipment would include any machine that uses "a spark ignition engine rated

Fast food lovers are deeply divided over Chick-fil-A's launch of a new cauliflower sandwich, with some welcoming the addition, while others reacted in horror to the 77-year-old chain 'going woke'.
The Atlanta, Georgia-based family firm announced on February 13 that they were trialling the new plant-based sandwich in three locations: Denver, Colorado; Charleston, South Carolina, and Greensboro, North Carolina.
The $7 sandwich - contains no meat, but is not considered fully vegetarian 'due to its cooking environment,' Chick-fil-A said. A regular Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich can cost as little as $3.05 in cities where the plant-based newbie is being triale.d

Social Security and Medicare are on an “unsustainable course” and will run out of funds by 2037. That’s the conclusion reached by the General Accountability Office (GAO) and the Social Security Administration. There is no saving these programs without massive changes. And demagoguing the issue, as Joe Biden and the Democrats are doing, only delays the day of reckoning. To pretend these programs don’t need intervention now — right now — is to play with dynamite. The sooner we can get started, the less pain will be inflicted on senior citizens.
Pain there will be. In order to put these programs on the path to long-term viability, it will take political courage

Experts are calling for an investigation into a Stacey Abrams-founded charity over a large financial discrepancy.
The New Georgia Project, a minority-focused democracy advocacy group founded in 2013, was run by Nse Ufot, hand-picked by Abrams, until she was fired in October. The group filed its 2021 Form 990 financial disclosure three months later, when the form was two months overdue, an investigation by the Washington Free Beacon found. The group reported a $533,846 consulting payment and $67,500 grant to an obscure charity called the Black Male Initiative, run by Ufot's brother. However, the group claims it never received any such payment.

Paige Spiranac has jumped to the defense of Tiger Woods amid the backlash he has received for a tampon prank between him and golf partner Justin Thomas.
Woods handed his friend and rival Thomas a tampon during the first round of the Genesis Invitational, shortly after out-driving him on the tee, with cameras - unfortunately for Woods - capturing the moment.
Spiranac, a former college golfer turned model and influencer, was quick to react to the situation and said: 'If anyone tries to cancel Tiger over this we riot. It's funny. 'It's interesting to see women outraged by Tiger slipping JT a tampon after out driving him but those same women

Jimmy Carter has “decided to spend his remaining time at home” in hospice care after a series of short hospital stays, the 98-year-old former president’s family said in a statement on Saturday.
The statement, issued by the Carter Center, said the ex-president’s choice had “the full of support of his family and his medical team”. It also said the family “asks for privacy during this time and is grateful for the concern shown by his admirers”.
Carter, a Democrat, was president of the US from 1977 to 1981. The late Ronald Reagan, a Republican, succeeded Carter after defeating him at the end of his lone term in the Oval Office.

Jimmy Carter, the longest living president in U.S history, has decided to live out his final days in hospice care in his Georgia home with wife Rosalynn by his side rather than seek more medical treatment.
The 98-year-old's charity The Carter Center announced on Twitter on Saturday that after a series of short hospital stays, the former peanut farmer has 'decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.'
It said the Democrat, who has dedicated his life to public service and charity, has the full support of his medical team and family

Kamala Harris was forced to fly a military cargo plane home to the nation’s capital Saturday after Air Force Two broke down on the tarmac in Munich, Germany. Harris spoke to the Munich Security Conference earlier in the day where she announced the U.S. has “formally determined” that Russia has committed “crimes against humanity” in its conduct of the war on Ukraine.
Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs posted to Twitter: “The @VP’s blue-and-white plane is broken down. Kamala Harris will be flying back to the US from Germany on the C-17 support plane.” (Tweet)

Keith Olbermann is a world-class jerk.
We all know that, and usually, jerks don’t merit much attention. Contempt? Obviously. But spending a lot of time worrying about a jerk being a jerk is time you could have spent enjoying something else.
But Olbermann is a hero to many, and one of the more influential political figures in the country. Sometimes an A-lister, usually a B-lister, Olbermann is just the sort of guy who can express the id of the Left and get rewarded for it by his followers, if not his colleagues who famously hate him. [Tweet] Olbermann’s “feisty” personality has cost him professionally–not because his followers

America has been drifting toward a level of corruption incompatible with a free society and a free-market economy.
Political and economic freedom depend on the presence of a level of honesty that makes it possible for people to interact with one another with a sense of trust.
Consider recent corrupt, criminal events and their implication for the future of American culture.
An estimated $20 billion was stolen from California’s unemployment compensation program. The money was largely taken by criminals already incarcerated in California prisons using prison computers. Outside accomplices would pick up the money, according to the Sacramento district attorney I interviewed

Exclusive: The White House explained why it turned down Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine's request for disaster relief this week in the aftermath of a derailment of a train hauling toxic chemicals.
A Biden administration official told Fox News Digital that it has provided extensive assistance to surrounding communities following the chemical release earlier this month in eastern Ohio. However, the official said the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the agency that usually provides relief to communities hit by hurricanes and other natural disasters, isn't best equipped to support the state's current needs.
"The Biden Administration is mobilizing a robust, multi-agency effort to support the people of East Palestine, Ohio. Since February 3,
