Beijing/Washington - China said on Monday that U.S. high altitude balloons had flown over its airspace without permission more than 10 times since the beginning of 2022, drawing a swift denial from Washington.
China's accusation widened a dispute with the United States that began last weekend after the U.S. military shot down what it says was a Chinese spy balloon, prompting top U.S. diplomat Antony Blinken to cancel a trip to Beijing designed to ease tensions. "Since last year, the U.S.'s high-altitude balloons have undergone more than 10 illegal flights into Chinese airspace without the approval of the relevant Chinese departments," Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin

Sounds rather like a very convenient disinformation operation, a false flag that they are point too as justification for their blatant illegal actions within our soverign airspace, gain sympathy among the anti-America crowd, and save face!!!

I was certain the Chinese were lying -- then the Biden Administration said there were no balloons, so now I suspect there were.

Balloons over China? So the CCP is admitting that it's as inept as the Biden Administration. I doubt it since I'm sure that it takes its national security a lot more seriously than Biden does ours.

Unfortunately, I am responsible for one of them. I was at a two-years old's birthday picnic, and I brought a party helium balloon, with a pretty face on it. Most unfortunately, I was distracted for a second, and I lost my grip on it. It sailed up and out of our sight, I immediately called NORAD and the Defense Department, and both told me they would take care of it. I asked if it might float toward China and they both said "it'll have to go all the way around the world to get there, sir!"
I worried about every night for weeks, but then I got the vaccine and stopped worrying about it.

Now the he said she said games begin. The media will get involved and the entire situation will become so confused that the story will be twisted from balloons were shot down to "confidential sources in the Pentagon say" that nuclear missiles or some other more threatening devices were actually destroyed but no evidence will ever be given or found. It will make great headline and talking points and ramp up fear and ratings, as well as show how "decisive" our fearless leader, President Joseph Biden, the most prepared man ever to be President, took steps to save or country from unseen threats that Donald Trump and the Republicans ignored while they made our country weaker. I can just hear it now......

We use satellites these days. Used to be SR-71s.
Ever see a ChiCom version of the SR-71? It is white and fat and round and goes about the speed of the wind.

I'm no rocket surgeon, so I'll need some help here. I thought that the winds which carry balloons over the western US first, travel from west to east.
Unless balloons are launched in Europe or the near east, how could they get to China?

We are discovering there are tons of atmospheric trash above our heads just floating. Balloons just floating around that the launchers never intended to recover. Things like that.

We don't need no stinkin' balloons, we have Satellites. The unclassified part is they can see the dimples on a golf ball on the ground from space, let that sink in.
