How the Democrats Will Come At Us

Original Article

Before Grandpa Badfinger Biden descended into his usual vortex of bizarre verbal constructions, incoherent shouting, and occasional improvised concessions that neutralize key Democrat talking points, his State of the Union speech was outstanding. You heard that right – the first 25 minutes, before he insanely got himself filmed conceding that Republicans are not about to push old ladies over the cliff by slashing their Social Security and Medicare, was the strongest, most effective speech he has ever given. It pains me to admit it – I would rather pee glass than praise him – but the current fashion of lying to oneself about the nature of one’s opponents is self-destructive.

Comments:

Sometimes Kurt Schlichter's writing looks like he's just trying to be snarkily entertaining. This piece, though, is serious and very smart. Republicans have to get back to showing that they represent the workers of America, and proclaiming what they are doing about it.

The first part of Biteme's speech was taken from Trump. The rest was pure lying Biteme.

He has a great point. When Trump was slapping tariffs on the ChiCom junk, so many old school Repubs got their panties all in a twist with "the consumer pays those tariffs.....they just harm Americans". This is a wonderfully narrow view of things. Sure, some ChiCom government controlled factory could just raise their prices to cover the tariffs....but when you make an item for $1.25 and sell it for $43 in the USA, because the USA product costs $53, it's no biggie to keep your price at $43 and suck up the tariff.....because the ChiComs still win by beating up the American producers and they still employ their people. Republicans need to think really hard about what it means to have a functioning country. We need to have decent jobs available for those Americans who want to work. Jobs that can pay enough to make a decent family life. THAT is really important.....FAR, FAR more important than getting the cheapest ChiCom doodad at a really low price. Keeping American workers working and American factories open making QUALITY goods instead of Chinese junk, even if the junk is cheap, is absolutely fundamental to having a nice, functional, workable country. The economists who tell us that "those low skill jobs should naturally move overseas to those countries that only have low skills workers, Americans should think in their jobs not work with their hands" are as far removed from grasping human nature as the idiot Marxists are. ' Hard fact: A heck of a lot of Americans do not WANT TO work in an office and "think" and "push paper" for a living. A huge fraction want to make something, build something, produce something useful. Lots of them don't at all mind getting their hands dirty to accomplish a job "that needs to be done". There is a lot of self satisfaction to making things. We need to recognize that this sort of person is a good and desirable kind of person to have, to support and to facilitate in any way we can. Yes, the "working man" is usually a solid American and Republicans and conservatives need to make a real effort to make the system work for them, too. Schlichter is right. The Romneys and Bushes are losers, and we need more Trumps and DeSantis type folks who think a lot more about how to make life work for the average working class American.

AUSTIN, Texas—Elon Musk is planning to build his own town on part of thousands of acres of newly purchased pasture and farmland outside the Texas capital, according to deeds and other land records and people familiar with the project. In meetings with landowners and real-estate agents, Mr. Musk and employees of his companies have described his vision as a sort of Texas utopia along the Colorado River, where his employees could live and work. (Snip) They say Mr. Musk and his top executives want his Austin-area employees, including workers at Boring, electric-car maker Tesla Inc. and SpaceX, to be able to live in new homes with below-market rents.

There is no way to avoid this moment. The formal letter of apology. From me. To Conservatives and to those who “put America first” everywhere. It’s tempting to sweep this confrontation with my own gullibility under the rug — to “move on” without every acknowledging that I was duped, and that as a result I made mistakes in judgement, and that these mistakes hurt millions of other people like you all, in existential ways. (Snip) The proximate cause of this letter of apology is the airing, two nights ago, of excepts from tens of thousands of hours of security camera footage from the United States Capitol taken on Jan 6, 2021.

Mainstream media correspondents for major US networks rarely, if ever, report from inside Crimea and certainly are nowhere near Russian-held territory in eastern Ukraine. However, this week NBC News chief international correspondent Keir Simmons went to Sevastopol, surrounded by a significant Russian military presence given it is home to the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet, and in a live segment admitted that it's not at all realistic Zelensky and Ukrainian forces can ever hope to take Crimea. This is especially as the "the people there... view themselves as Russian." Simmons noted that "This is the closest that any US news crew has got to the Russian Black Sea Fleet
Why You Should Binge Read Dean Koontz 9 replies

It’s hard not to binge read a Dean Koontz novel. His suspenseful plots hurl readers headlong into raucous adventures in which the stakes for his protagonists are extreme and, for humanity, often dire. His heroes are resilient. His villains ooze wickedness. Walk-on characters are often hilarious. (Snip) If an enjoyable read was all there was to Koontz’s work, it would be enough. But like the best novelists, Koontz also communicates important moral truths. (Snip) Koontz’s various stories also provide a running commentary on the sorry state of contemporary American culture, in particular, the egregious failings of our most important cultural institutions and the irresponsibility of our woke leadership class.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s call for a Digital Bill of Rights is a critical first step towards rebuilding a civil society in which each person has a voice. As DeSantis describes it, “Floridians have the right to: Private conversations without surveillance by Big Tech, participate online without unfair censorship, see internet search engines manipulation, control personal data, [and] protect children from online harms.” (Snip) By opening the door to more real conversation, we allow for a revival of the social trust upon which civil society depends. America’s nosedive into social distrust over the past several decades has fueled our loneliness epidemic.

For two years, mRNA Covid vaccine skeptics have raised questions about whether the shots might damage fertility. mRNA jabs alter menstrual cycles in some women. An Israeli study last June showed that sperm production falls after the Pfizer shot. Worse, births are falling fast in many mRNA countries. The trend predates the shots, but in some countries it accelerated nine months after the widespread rollout of the jabs to women of childbearing age. Still, data have not supported the worst fear of mRNA skeptics - a marked rise in late-term deaths or stillborn babies. Until now. (Snip) 73 stillbirths in 2019. 78 in 2020. 78 in 2021. 133 in 2022.

President Joe Biden's diplomats are negotiating a treaty with the World Health Organization to promote so-called global health equity. The premise is that in a pandemic or other worldwide disease emergency, Americans should not get better or faster health care than inhabitants of third-world countries. (Snip) Under the draft treaty, presented in Geneva on Feb. 1, the U.S. will be obligated to hand over a whopping 20% of its medical supplies, including diagnostic tests, antiviral medications and vaccines, to WHO for global distribution. Article 10 of the treaty specifies this will be done in "real-time," not after American needs are met.

Over the past year, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Denmark have begun or completed public investigations into their countries’ responses to the Covid-19 pandemic. These governments believed it was important to report on successes and failures of pandemic decisions because it was the public that was on the receiving end of policies such as closed schools, vaccine mandates, and shuttered businesses. The United States is notably absent from this list, despite a long history of setting up bipartisan commissions after national crises in order to avoid repeating mistakes. Since 1989, when the current iteration of bipartisan commissions essentially came into being, Congress has funded 170 commissions to

The “great awokening” touches every elite institution in America, mostly radiating out from our compromised system of higher education. One of the most disturbing and illuminating aspects of this cultural revolution is how much it is transforming science and medicine. A video of medical students at Columbia University reciting an updated version of the Hippocratic oath that injected elements of critical race theory made the rounds on social media recently. As many have noted, this “student-led initiative” sounds cult-like. [Inserted tweet] When did medicine start sounding like a cult? Kamala Harris may suffer from aphasia 49 replies

Kamala Harris's verbal utterances are bizarre, repetitive, and often not completed. (snip) Aphasics may do this to hide the fact that they can literally not hold onto the meaning of their narrative, to carry it to completion. So, they make up an ending to the story and then perhaps flip into a semantically weird ending. Harris often simply repeats her first sentence. This is not planned for a rational purpose, and she often solves her semantic confusion by bursting out in stereotypical laughter, with gestures, to encourage her listeners to think she just did a funny.

America’s top medical schools, worried they have too few minority students, are doing something about it. They are lowering academic standards for admission and trying to hide the evidence. Columbia, Harvard, the University of Chicago, Stanford, Mount Sinai, and the University of Pennsylvania have already done so. The list already tops forty, and more are sure to follow. Of course, the universities won’t admit what they are doing – and certainly not why. All they will say is that their new standards add “equity” and “lived experience.” Unfortunately, adding those factors inevitably lessens the weight given to others.

A defendant in Maryland can be charged with felony murder if the person commits a murder during a felony crime, such as robbery. Crutchfield and supporters of the bill say that the brain is not fully developed before age 25, so issuing so harsh a sentence is unfair.
