Life comes at you fast.
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) has announced that her 17-year-old son Tyler and his girlfriend are expecting a child next month.
Boebert, 36, broke the happy news while speaking Tuesday at an event hosted by the conservative group Moms for America, where she touted the values of her rural countrymen.
“I’m going to tell you all for the first time in a public setting, that not only am I a mom of four boys, but come April, I will be a gigi to a brand new grandson,” said Boebert, who added that she and her husband Jayson “are so excited to welcome this new life into our family.”

If my 17 year old son got his girlfriend pregnant I would be crying,
not celebrating.

I may be in the minority, but this is not a good look. You can’t help the choices your children make, but “excited” is not my first word.

This women is a wonderful person. I' m sure she and her husband would not wish for her son to be a father at 17. But since that is their future it will be accepted with happiness for all. So much better than wicked words that can not ever be unsaid. A new life is wonderful event. This new life will be welcomed with love not shame.

As we know, the kid did not ask to be born. You help with all the love and support you can. It forces a level of maturity that the young parents might not have planned on, but there it is.
Like the Ferris Bueller reference. Heard Barbara Bush use the quote [Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and take a look around once in a while, you could miss it!] in a commencement address back in 1990. Babs was the greatest First Lady.

That's just it #4 and the naysayers, Lauren Boebert may not view a baby as a lemon. . .

Not so sure she should be broadcasting that her child is having a child.

So what is the right choice, kill the baby or raise, love the child? I would raise the child, love the child and embrace the opportunity. With the knowledge, patience, and wisdom we have now, that child could be a wonderful citizen.

Children having children is not ideal. I always thought “Gigi” means Great grandmother.

As a preface, I am not an abortion advocate. The point is, I would not be publicly “celebrating” this pregnancy either. This news brings back memories of Sarah Palin’s family.

If Lauren Boebert said anything negative or not positive, the media would find the young parents and bombard them with shame. I also think that when the child was 5yrs old someone would say, "see your grandparents didn't want you" or things like that. Life is precious regardless of when it happens.

Liberals make public pronouncements in praise of having chosen to abort their own babies. Here we see the opposite, welcoming the upcoming birth of a child who'll be loved with open arms.
Better for LB to get in front of this story, not letting herself and her family be ambushed by hate-filled media. She is a public personality, so had only two choices: put it out there herself, or stupidly try to hide it.
I'm quite sure there were many tears in private.
This is not a situation any parent would choose for their child. Crying doesn't undo it. When the initial shock, disappointment, and upset settled, LB had no other choice than to deal with it asap.
Have people forgotten how the Palin family was treated?

I’ll take this response all day every day over the Biden family denial of acknowledging Hunters daughter, Navy Joan. The Boeberts are doing the right thing. This is what being pro-life looks like in practice. Accidents happen, and we love the tiny humans that result, just the same. Maybe offer the Boeberts some grace here, L-Dotters.

Every child is a gift from God no matter the circumstances. My daughter and her husband had two children before they got married. It is not the way I would have wanted it to happen, but I adore those children and they are the lights of my life. I too was excited about their upcoming births. Now there is a third child on the way and I thank God for all of them.
Best wishes to the Boebert family for a happy and healthy birth!

Thinking about it now, 17 might be a more appropriate time to have a kid, compared to the way things are currently done..
Nothing that I can think of grows a person up faster, and maybe the extended adolescence we've imposed on our society is one of the sources of our decadence.
For some time it's been expected that kids establish a career, and by that time we have been resisting the deluge of hormones for 10 - 15 years and formed habits that may not ideally amenable to the demands of child raising. Looking at the woke generation bred lately, it seems a question worth considering. Nature has a way of always having its way.

Where I come from, a 17 year old becoming a parent (male or female) is not a 'happy occasion' but a sign of failed parenting. Having said that not taking the unborn's life is commendable.

Hopefully the young girl is ready to be a mom. It’s easy to romanticize a baby when you’re that age. Reality is much different. But this is much preferable to the alternative.

First off this is wonderful news! Too many nowadays would've chosen abortion at the drop of a hat, and yeah, the soon to be parents are young which will make it tough for sure. Secondly, this is Lauren Boebert's son, what's she supposed to do aside from what she's already doing, rejoicing despite the not so "wonderful" circumstances. Lastly, Lauren Boebert is a representative in Congress, an actual conservative republican in Congress. The demonrats will already use this against her in any elections or what have you, but it won't have quite the bite it would if she would've tried to hide this from the public. Yeah, remember the enemedia? I'm sure they would turn a blind eye to all this!

My mother was (ahem) a guest at her parents' wedding. While she was raised with nothing but love, it was never discussed. Never. While babies are wonderful and I wish nothing but the best, I miss the days when we didn't have to publicly celebrate. Then again, she's probably getting ahead of the media.

While it's wonderful to realize how blessed we all are to have superior opinions about how other people should comport themselves in such a situation, the greater blessing for people living in this Culture of Death would be to celebrate life . . . even when it's inconvenient or untimely.

17 is not a "child". Not ideal age to have kids but that's life. I suppose the critics would rather see an abortion?

Rep. Boebert is a serious Christian and she, like Governor Sarah Palin before her, wanted to make it clear publicly her family will be welcoming a new baby into their family. They choose to love and support the little family despite the unkindness of twittering press tongues. God bless them.
I am in this powerful Congresswoman’s corner with my prayers and support as she navigates this. I pray with her the young couple will make Godly decisions about everything in the months to come.

Out come the cluckers. Always remind me of those biddies in The Music Man, led by Hermione Ginggold.
Boebert is accepting what IS with grace and love. We know that some here are perfect. When they feel a need to advertise it, it kind of poisons the well.
A new life should be exciting. I admire Boebert for her strength and humankindness.
Would you cluckers rather the child be aborted? Or hidden from view?
