How much has America changed? Well, consider moves being made at West Point.
Over the summer, Washington’s Naming Commission — comprised of four civilians and as many retired military vets — came to final conclusions regarding seven different Department of Defense “assets.” In its report, the group recommended a renaming of sites honoring Confederate General Robert E. Lee, along with Generals P.G.T. Beauregard and William Hardee.
And over the holidays, the United States Military Academy at West Point began the process of purging Lee from its hallowed halls.
As relayed by the Daily News, Superintendent Lieutenant General Steve Gilland released a December 26th statement:

At one time Lee was the commandant of West Point........................if they're going over the top PC,.........tear down the Academy altogether.

The American Taliban is alive and well. Remember when they destroyed the thousands of years old Buddha? This is what all totalitarians do.

It’s amazing that the folks who fought the Civil War are more tolerant than leftwing loon folks pushing this 158 years after the fact - they forgot President Lincoln’s stirring words: “with malice toward none, charity for all.”

And they wonder why no one wants to join the military these days, except for those who wish to get the government to pay for their tranny surgeries and medications.

Taking a page from the Soviet Union. Erase those who have fallen out of favor. Will next be erasure of photos of the Civil War commanders?

Lee was a great man, before, during and after the civil war. These pissants cannot change or erase those facts, and they diminish themselves by these actions. They cannot diminish Lee.

Recently I saw some WWII documentaries on thr invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany. One of the first things they did was to remove from the cities monuments and statues of historical Polish notables. Have the dems turned into Nazis? Yes! I cry for this country. I'm afraid that the worst is yet to come.

The service academies probably need to be restarted. But only after they restore their reverence for our nation, its founders, and the Americans who had distinguished themselves in heroic service ... just the kind of stuff that today's woke blokes have been tearing down ... just the kind of historical figure like Generals Lee, Beauregard, Hood, et al.
The knuckleheads currently heading our Defense Department and military academies have disgraced our country and damnear destroyed our military's readiness, competence, and morale.

Well well well... erasing history doesn't do much... except create a void... where similar outrages might occur. But it's woke, I'll say that. How about a plaque describing his history? That would work for me.

No wonder the US military cannot win a war. General Lee was regarded around the world as a brilliant military planner, stategist, tactician. Military academies in Europe and Asia studied him. Now West Point thinks they can learn nothing from him? Can you imagine the Chinese throwing out SunTsu and forbidding their generals to read "The Art of War?"

Our political leaders who take their wrath out on historical statues seem to have gone berserk. What else can explain such vile? Instead of building they try to tear down. History is what it is and cannot be changed by removing statues, etc..

Want a definition of communism at work? Look no further than our military leadership and especially the service academies. What they are doing comes right out of the communist playbook and they aren't even trying to hide it anymore.
