Bryan Kohberger, the criminology student arrested and charged with four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary connected to the quadruple slaying of four University of Idaho students, may be signaling an intent to plead not guilty. Kohberger is currently represented by public defender Jason LaBar in Pennsylvania, who is handling the extradition order. LaBar told CNN that “Mr. Kohberger is eager to be exonerated of these charges and looks forward to resolving these matters as promptly as possible,” he said, forecasting that Kohberger intends to plead not guilty. Moscow police have been unable to disclose what evidence they have against Kohberger that led to the arrest due to pre-trial

An arrest was made Friday in the case of four murdered college students in Idaho. The suspect in the case was a grad student named Bryan Kohberger who attended a school just across the border in Washington from where the killing took place. Police tracked Kohberger as he drove across the country and then arrested him.
Authorities carefully tracked the man charged in the killings of four Idaho college students as he drove across the country around Christmas and continued surveilling him for several days before finally arresting him Friday, sources tell CNN… Authorities carefully tracked the man charged in the killings of four Idaho college students

Amidst a wasteland of absolute trash coming out of Hollywood over the last several years, Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” has become a saving grace for television watchers everywhere. It’s gritty, it’s visually stunning, it’s fun, and most of all, it’s not woke. There aren’t any explicitly leftwing narratives being shoved down the audience’s throat when you watch “Yellowstone” or its equally well-done prequels, “1883” and “1923.” In fact, there’s a rather conservative bent at times throughout the franchise, though Sheridan is loathe to allow his work to be defined along political lines. For example, the latest season of “Yellowstone” has the Duttons converting a rabid environmentalist from her misguided secular religion.

Any bets on how far into 2023 we get before someone renames the news cycle the Trump Cycle? Or how long until CNN creates CNNTRUMP+ — All Trump, All the Time? I give it until February. As the refugees who migrated to the MSM from the island in Lord of the Flies don loincloths, hoot, holler, and jump up and down around the latest bonfire, in this case, Donald Trump’s taxes, a far more intriguing question has emerged for serious politics watchers: will Trump run as a third-party candidate?

Republicans in the minority on the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee declared Friday that there had been “no legitimate legislative purpose” for the Democratic majority to release Donald Trump’s tax returns.
It was the first time Congress had ever obtained and released the federal tax returns of a private individual. Democrats claimed that they needed the returns as they considered future tax legislation. But the former president argued in court — to no avail — that Democrats were overstepping the separation of powers. On Friday, the committee released six years of Trump’s returns, from 2015 through 2020. While they revealed little that was noteworthy, other than some debatable

At long last, after years of baseless speculation and struggle sessions on cable news networks, Donald Trump’s fabled tax returns have been released, and members of the press are bubbling with excitement. In an unprecedented abuse of power, Democrats in the House of Representatives decided to seize a private citizen’s taxes and dump them out into the public for no legitimate reason whatsoever. There was no constitutional oversight role being performed (because again, Trump is not in government), and certainly, there was no legitimate investigative purpose given they had no evidence of wrongdoing related to the work of Congress.

This is either a bizarre coincidence or evidence that a Narrative™ decree has gone out.
(No, I don’t think there are actual decrees…mostly).
Yesterday I wrote a piece about Scientific American’s rather odd republishing through tweet of an article originally published in 2020. In it, the author argued that the medical establishment and our society as a whole stigmatizes obesity because Black women are the most obese demographic in America. People can be “healthy at any size,” and focusing on obesity as a health problem is racist.
Now one day later Time Magazine is promoting an article that argues that exercise has White supremacist roots.

The House Ways and Means Committee released a partially redacted version of former President Trump's tax returns Friday, completing a longtime objective of Democrats to make Trump's finances public after the former president unsuccessfully tried to stop them in court.
The financial documents cover six years of Trump's individual returns filed jointly with his wife, Melania, including his time in the White House. The document dump also includes tax forms for several of Trump's business entities that were investigated by Ways and Means Democrats, a report from the Democratic majority, and a response by Republicans on the committee.
The tax forms provide insights into the state of Trump's finances

On Thursday, text messages leaked showing that Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) had permanently banned a female staffer from her congressional office for failure to take a COVID-19 test. During the exchange, Porter went on to accuse the staffer of giving her COVID-19, refusing to let her retrieve her personal belongings in person while showing no care for the personal tragedy the staffer had been facing. It was a mask-off moment for Porter, who has grown quite the fan club among whiteboard-loving liberals who think cheap grand-standing during hearings is evidence of brilliance. But what made things even worse was who the staffer was.

We have just lived through a respiratory virus epidemic and many are wondering, Why did our government and the social media platforms block any intelligent discussion of the virus that was making its way around the globe?
In an ideal world, doctors would communicate freely about treatments for a new disease that they have tried, and how, and under what circumstances, those treatments have succeeded or failed. This is called the scientific method.
But the scientific method has not prevailed over the last few years. Instead, the public square has been dominated by government-dictated dogma that often turned out to be wrong. The result was that many people died needlessly

In Against the Great Reset, Harry Stein asks how the Left has managed to subvert the culture and trample so effectively upon the fundamental concepts of decency, equality, justice, morality, and even human biology itself, not to mention humor and modesty. The answer may be found not only in policy and power wielded from the top but also in the gradual saturation of the public mind with a vast set of implicit assumptions regarding what constitutes enlightened societal advancement. In other words, a large part of the answer is the Left’s near-absolute domination of mass popular culture — music, film, sports, news media, entertainment, and so on — all infused

Pelé, the Brazilian soccer icon who brought the World Cup trophy to his home country three times, becoming an international superstar and the highest-paid team athlete in the world at the time, has died. He was 82.
His daughter Kely Nascimento announced his death Thursday on Instagram. Pelé's health had been deteriorating as he aged. Doctors at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo said in late December that he was receiving "elevated care" related to "kidney and cardiac dysfunctions" stemming from the cancer he had been fighting for more than a year. He also had a respiratory infection, and his family said
