President Biden urged Congress Monday to intervene to avert a "potentially crippling national rail shutdown," after multiple rail labor unions shot down an agreement brokered by the White House in September.
American consumers and virtually all industries could take a hit at the beginning of the holiday season if workers do strike as soon as Dec. 5. Congress could intervene and impose contract terms on railroad workers, which is what Mr. Biden is urging them to do. Thanks to the Railway Labor Act, passed in 1926, Congress can force workers back to their stations with a congressional resolution.

I guess he can’t do what Reagan did. Fire them all and replace with military arc. Not that the weak demented fool or his puppet masters would do it even if they could. Look for the taxpayers to have to pony up whatever they demand.

Calling on congress? Since when did he need them? And I thought he was directly engaged with his union supporters. Didn't he claim he already averted a strike before the elections? Obviously he is not in command of anything. His administration, his son, his paedophile instincts his mind his mouth, his bowels....

Since you and your cronies, Joe, are always flaunting the laws… ignoring them when you feel like it… not punishing criminals… what makes you think an act of Congress would force these workers to stay on the job? You have brought this on and it’s ALL your fault.

Biden with his bogus claim that he had a deal to stop the probable railroad strike was simply BS to get the Democrats past the midterm election.

Hopefully, Pelosi and Schumer view this as Biden's mess to clean up, not theirs.

It's so obvious. In support of democrats and BiteMe Diaper's administration, the union waited until after the midterm to pull this off. Fire them all and start hiring qualified locals and foreigners to save the country.

I believe Trump could have worked out an agreement,
After all, he worked out a bunch of difficult agreements when he was in office.
Perhaps The HairSniffer should read Trumps' book.
Then again, that raises the question...... can The HairSniffer read anything more complicated than those 'Sharpie-written' notes his handlers give him to read when before the public?
I have my doubts.

Biden, having failed at resolving the railway strike, for which he took the bows and accolades for back in September, now wants Congress to declare a "cooling off period" under the Railway Labor Act to prevent a strike from occurring---at least until January, when the Republican House can take all the blame.
Biden is a slimy POS

The Government has no real role in union negotiations unless they plan on passing a law preventing the strike. Democrats cannot afford to pi*ss of the unions. Biden is desperate.

I love it. The democrats are forced into going head-to-head with their most solid supporters and big money donors. This railroad crisis will not end well no matter which way it goes. I can foresee many of the unions and railroad workers telling Brandon to pound sand and simply call in sick every day. It will make a very interesting 2024 election, if there is one.
