I guess it was just a matter of time, but doing it three days before the mid-terms seems less than ideal.
Donald Trump held a rally in Pennslyvania tonight, but as usual, the candidates running for office were an afterthought. Instead, the former president spent the majority of the time talking about himself. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s a Trump rally after all, and to be sure, they can be very entertaining. Unfortunately, instead of some of the good things he said making news, there’s currently just one clip going gangbusters on Saturday night. That would be this one where Trump engaged in friendly fire by taking

Ron DeSantis is the latest politician to fall victim to one of Trump’s famous nicknames.
In times past Trump has coined Low Energy Jeb, Sleepy Joe, Crooked Hillary, Little Marco Rubio, and the list goes on and on.
During last night’s rally in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Trump surprisingly gave Ron DeSantis the nickname “Ron DeSanctimonious”.
“We’re winning big in the Republican Party for the nomination like nobody’s ever seen before,” Trump told a crowd in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night before going down the list of other Republicans who could potentially challenge him in 2024.

Former President Barack Obama insisted Saturday that Pennsylvania Lt. Gov John Fetterman was fit to serve in the US Senate despite the lingering effects of a stroke suffered in May.
Fetterman is facing Republican opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz in a tight contest for the Keystone state’s open Senate seat.
“John’s stroke did not change who he is, it didn’t change what he cares about, it didn’t change his values, his heart, his fight,” Obama said during a rally in Pittsburgh. “It doesn’t change who he will represent when he gets to the United States Senate. He’ll represent you. And that’s what you deserve.”

United Nations human rights chief Volker Türk urged Elon Musk, Twitter's new owner and CEO, to "ensure human rights are central to the management of Twitter." The letter comes a day after the billionaire sacked half of Twitter's workforce following an announcement that the social media platform was losing more than $4 million per day. In the open letter published on Saturday, Türk wrote, "Respect for our shared human rights should set the guardrails for the platform's use and evolution."

Outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) endorsed Democrat Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) over her Republican challenger, Yesli Vega, just days before the midterm election.
Spanberger is a far-left Democrat running against Vega, former President Donald Trump’s choice to represent Virginia’s seventh congressional district.
“We don’t agree on every policy, but I am absolutely certain that Abigail is dedicated to serving this country and her constituents and defending our Constitution,” Cheney told the Washington Post. She accused Vega of “promoting conspiracy theories, denying election outcomes she disagrees with, and defending the indefensible.”
“We need our elected leaders to be honest, serious, and responsible,

The Canadian healthcare system is experiencing an acute shortage of basic painkillers, particularly acetaminophen and ibuprofen, which are commonly used to relieve pain and fever in children during flu season.
Canada’s Association of Medical Assistance in Dying Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) chose this perhaps awkward moment to roll out a webinar for healthcare professionals that advised them to offer assisted suicide to their suffering patients.
As Canada’s National Post noted, doctors around the world are normally “explicitly prohibited or strongly discouraged” from bringing up the subject of euthanasia, even in jurisdictions where assisted suicide is legal.
Beginning with a “guidance document” published in 2019, CAMAP asserted that, on the contrary,

Democrat Campaign Chief Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) encouraged New York voters struggling to afford gas prices and groceries to eat Chef Boyardee to offset the record levels of inflation seen under President Joe Biden’s administration.
“According to @spmaloney, Hudson Valley residents who are struggling to put gas in their tank and food on their table should eat Chef Boyardee,” Maloney’s Republican challenger, Mike Lawle, tweeted along with a recent clip of the Democrat discussing inflation. “I have a better idea — let’s Fire Sean Maloney and reduce inflation so that New Yorkers can afford to live here and eat what they want.” [Video]

I will always be grateful for the presidency of Donald Trump and, if he is the GOP nominee for president in 2024, I will support him. But I am very disturbed that yesterday, at an airport rally in Pennsylvania, he attacked Ron DeSantis...with one of his derisive nicknames, except that this one doesn’t even make any sense: President Reagan of blessed memory left us with a very useful 11th commandment: “Thou shalt not attack another Republican."
In today’s political environment, with the Democrat party in the hands of the radical left, and wrecking our economy, society and ability to defend ourselves, defeating them and taking control

President Biden gave a bizarre, disjointed speech in San Diego declaring that “I have my shotgun waiting for the wolf” to ward off recession while vowing to shut down coal plants across the nation and branding Afghanistan a “God-forsaken place.”
Biden appeared to basically ignore prepared remarks that were intended to address the passage of this year’s $280 billion bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act. Instead, he referred to the New York Times “Goldilocks report” in a ploy that whiffs of desperation just days before the midterm elections where the majority of Americans are laser-focused on inflation and the economy… one of the biggest weaknesses of Democrats.

Everything I’m reading and hearing about the Tuesday midterm elections is a “massive red wave.” “Panic in New York.” “Blake Masters Takes Razor Thin Lead.” “Majority of Voters Support J.D. Vance.” “Red Wave Tuesday? Final Rasmussen Poll: GOP Leads Generic Congressional Ballot by 5 Points.” “The Democrats are in Trouble.” “Hispanics Across Arizona, Florida, Texas Abandon Democrats.” (Snip)
Two things about the election Tuesday scare me. One, so many of the races are so close. Nearly all the important Senate races are neck and neck: Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Georgia, all so very tight. Why? How can Americans look at the country and not slaughter the Democrats?

Facebook parent Meta could begin large-scale layoffs as soon as Wednesday, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
The layoffs are expected to impact thousands of employees, the report said, and the move would mark the first major headcount reduction in Meta's history. At the end of September, the company reported that it had more than 87,000 employees. A Meta spokesperson declined to comment and referred CNBC to Zuckerberg's comments on the company's latest earnings call last month.

President Joe Biden has had a rough week, getting fact-checked by Twitter, delivering angry speeches while avoiding battleground states, and being forced to “moonwalk” away from his ludicrous claim that he would close coal plants all over the country. On Saturday, he was at it again, saying in a speech in Joliet, Illinois that protesters lacked mental acuity.
He was apparently triggered by the demonstrators outside the event who carried signs reading “Socialism Sucks,” “Vote Pro-Life,” and “Where’s Nancy.” His response: (Tweet/Video) I love those signs when I came in. Socialism.
Give me a break, what idiots.
Nice. That’s the way to bring the country
