Ukraine and the Malevolent Legacy of the

During the current Ukrainian war, the media has created a mythology that the Left was tough on Vladimir Putin’s Russia. And thus, now it simply continues its hard-nosed efforts in Ukraine.
But nothing could be further from the truth. Aside from Biden’s original panic of evacuating American diplomatic personnel from Kyiv, offering a ride out of Ukraine for the Zelenskyy government that would have effectively collapsed his nation’s resistance, and hesitation in selling Ukraine offensive weapons, there is also a prior legacy that had done a great deal of harm.
Indeed, many of America’s current difficulties in Ukraine originate from the Obama-Biden Administration’s former disastrous policies toward Russia birthed between 2009-2016.
Hanson doesn't mention the role of the U.S. State Department in staging and managing the coup in Ukraine in 2013/14 which has led to this international calamity in Ukraine/Russia and now involves the economies of most of Europe. The question for me is why did the U.S. do this in 2013/14? Whose idea was it ? Why? Who approved it? Why?

Weakness always invites aggression. This is an unalterable fact, both in personal and world affairs. Obama's efforts were motivated by one thing and one thing only: his hatred for traditional America and desire to see it torn down and replaced with his vision of "diversity, inclusion and equity" (DIE). Never forget he publicly announced this after his first election when he told us that he was going to "radically transform" this country. All the while, like the marxist, "community organizer" he is in his bones, he lied to a gullible American public which, in its naivete, sincerely wanted to believe he had their best interests at heart. Trump laid bare this charade and paid (and continues to pay) the price. Biden was elected on the same lying premise: that he was a patriotic American who wanted to see the country prosper in peace and stability, whereas, those who installed him in office and continue to control him want nothing of the sort. They are nakedly pursuing the Obama promise to "radically transform" us into a beggar nation, with them and their globalist allies on top of the pile of rubble that will remain and the rest of us groveling in chains. Dr. Hanson has provided an excellent analysis of what happened but the question remains, what are we going to do about it? Unfortunately, we may not have a choice, the die has been cast, the ship of state has been allowed to founder on the rocks and "sauve qui peut" may be our only option. Hope and pray for the best, but be prepared for the worst.

Obama’s statement ‘don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to eff things up’ is coming back to haunt the big O. Biden’s team consists of several Obama acolytes, Klain, Rice, etc. This would indicate that Obama is likely the puppeteer of the Biden administration. So now it appears that Obama is the one ‘effing things up.’ Not a good look for the great one.

We should expect the worldwide situation to deteriorate further as we have Neville Chamberlain in office. We would be better off with Wilt Chamberlain in office.

If the problem started with Obama, then the problem is still with Obama as he is the real President. Joe Biden is merely his demented puppet.

FTA: "Trump upped the Pentagon budget and controversially jawboned NATO members to increase their defense expenditures. That effort in part explains why the alliance had more confidence and resources in 2022 to oppose Russian aggression than it would have at anemic 2016 funding levels."
Incorrect, VDH. Germany still cannot field a creditable military force. Its annual defense spending is still less than that 2% committed - and will not reach that level until 2024 at earliest. And PDT was looking for double that, 4%.
The Euros have no intention and no "need" for those levels of defense investment. They don't give a damn about Russia carving off a few slices of Ukraine, so long as the gas flows. They also know that they cannot sustain their manpower as their birthrates drop precipitously and the Euro public demands greater socialism to support them comfortably. In the meantime, the US military is a much cheaper alternative for any heavy lifting. We have become 21st Century Prussians for hire - Leaders of the Free World. One must question the meaning of "free" in this context.

Biden is Obama's puppet so any words out of Biden's mouth were put there by Obama and his puppeteers in the WH. IMO if there is a problem with anything you can bet the born and raised communist is behind it.

Victoria Nuland worked for Obama and is back at the State Dept and I'm sure Vindman is weighing in on the Ukraine side.

While the corrupt Biden group was making a lot of money in Ukraine over the years, you can safely bet that other yet unidentified members of the DC “UniParty” was doing about the same. That’s why after Trump brought the Biden group corruption in Ukraine to light that the DC “UniParty” rushed to immediately impeach Trump and get him out of DC.

As usual, a precisely correct appraisal of the situation.
The Zero and Idiot Joe have absolutely effed this up for many years. I was working in Russian in 2009 when these morons wrecked our cooperative work, and Putin began pushing us out and shutting down the cooperative scientific research projects. This started souring what had been friendly relationships with their technical people, although there was always a small undercurrent of the memories of the Cold War.
Dems are entirely stupid.
And I am still appalled at what a huge load of pro Putin propaganda a wide swath of "conservatives" have bought into. Putin is and always has been a very bad guy. But he could have been more effectively dealt with if the Obama-Biden Idiocy hadn't tried trusting him and instead kept him as a "friendly adversary" who knew that any imperialist moves (like Georgia and Crimea) would be strongly opposed and punished with commercial sanctions.
And the SALT insanity only disarms the USA. The Russians massively cheat on that, and have retained a LOT stuff that the treaty says to destroy, and that we HAVE destroyed.
