Former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard announced she left the Democratic Party on Tuesday, denouncing the organization as an "elitist cabal.” Gabbard, who retired from the House of Representatives in 2021, attacked the institution in a nearly 30-minute video posted to her YouTube account. She did not announce plans to join the Republican Party or adopt any other political affiliation, however. "I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism," Gabbard said in an excerpt posted to Twitter. I hope she joins the Republican Party. She makes far more sense than any other Democrat. If the Democrats adopted her policies, they would elect their candidates by logical, sensical persuasion rather than by massive voter fraud.

I appreciate that she’s her own person, doesn’t just follow the herd. Takes strength to break like that. Whether she turns republican or not, at least she calls it like she sees it.

...as she prepares to run for President as an Independent, mucking up the works? If she does, she only hurts the Republicans.

I'm curious as to how the Rats are going to react to this, do as they should do...just shut up or, do as they always do, go on the attack and try to destroy her with an avalanche of disgusting lies? Hang on Tulsi, you're in their hate-filled gunsights.

Gabbard is the only ex-Dem I would trust as a Pubbie. Most party jumpers bring their socialist ideas with them and we already have enough, thank you.

Forgot that she 'retired' in 2021. Did the Democrats run her off? If so, she has every right and even a responsibility to leave them. They aren't her party anymore.

If only she could destroy Kamala's vice presidency as quickly as she destroyed her presidential aspirations in the first debate. I no longer have a favorite Democrat.

Tulsi and Sarah Palin should start a podcast together. They both called out their parties’ corrupt establishments and they both got chewed up and spit out for doing so.

There was a reason she identified with the democrat party maybe two reasons. She's from Hawaii a blue state, very liberal and she might be a one issue person that republicans do not stand for like abortion, but the democrats have run everything in the ground especially the 'woke' movement.

This seemed inevitable. She is clearly a patriot and an independent thinker, neither of which fits with the Demonrat party.

That was too easy because there is NO Democratic Party. They are the Communist-Marxist Party of America now and everyone knows it and will show their displeasure on November 8, 2022.

I am glad for her. I am not getting carried away about it because she is either going to run for POTUS as (I) or angling for a lucrative spot or show on FNC. She is nowhere near a MAGA patriot.

I've admired her speaking voice, general demeanor, and occasionally, her policy solutions on specific issues for quite some time, so I'm happy she chose to leave the party that probably left her years ago. To those questioning the integrity of party switchers, keep in mind Reagan, before he became the voice of conservatism, was a Hollywood democrat, switching to republican 1962 and by 1964, he was an effective supporter of Goldwater. Donald Trump has made multiple switches between the parties, the latest only 13 years ago when he was a democrat when Obama was elected and took office before switching back to the GOP. Post presidency, Trump has resisted the lure of a third party and has remained the top Republican political figure. Only time will tell whether Gabbard's switch is one of near-term political convenience or of long-term ideology.

Not buying it at all.
As Jonathan Gilliam said,
"She was raised a leftist, she politicked as a leftist, and she now uses the state of the nation (which she is partially responsible for) as a way to ingratiate herself with the right, that is very fast to welcome anyone that says they are leaving the democrat party. "

AFAIK, Reagan and Trump were ex-dems, or conservo dems, who governed as Gop's. That's an extinct possibility.
Every metric tonne of this Swamp has been created by WEF gators, and we must bear this in mind always.
Presently, America 1st/MAGA is the only credible option, it would seem, for those with no stomach for swan-diving into a
maelstrom of potential evils: murder, unconstitutionality, lawlessness, or treason.

I'd not be likely to vote for her, from what I know of her politics, but she reminds me of the sane Dems of 30 and 40 years ago that I could know were patriots and who wanted good things for the country, but had screwy political ideas on how to accomplish that.
Modern Dems hate the country, are NOT patriots and want BAD things for the country.

When dem have so poisoned the pool
that no dem can get elected dog catcher anywhere,
ambition compels them to say they're changing.
Then they run as Independent, or Republican, or Green,
to get elected and then govern
as the same demonrat they always were.
Hah, Hah, fooled you!
They even admit it: Stealth democrats.
Don't we have enough calling themselves Republicans already?

Tulsi Gabbard will now be a target for Democrats as she has left the plantation. While not joining the Republican party, she seems to be more of a Republican than some Republicans such as Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, and Adam Kinzinger. Maybe she will inspire others to get a backbone and either leave the Democrat Party or to start thinking for themselves.

Regardless of what you think of her political views, you have to admire her integrity. I doubt that she will join the Republican Party. That would not be a good fit for her, either.
