PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — A couple hundred die-hard supporters of John Fetterman’s campaign stood in the pouring rain Saturday morning in a Pittsburgh parking lot, a scene reminiscent of the former President Donald Trump supporters who stood in the rain for his rally in Greensburg in May. They were all waiting to hear him spell out the reasons why he should be the next senator from Pennsylvania. (snip)Fetterman then took the stage to the Styx 1979 hit song "Renegade," waving a Steelers' Terrible Towel. He started making his pitch to his faithful followers. “I'm overwhelmed," he said. "I'm overwhelmed. ... Franco Harris? That's pretty Western Pennsylvania, right? What's the opposite of

The only possible reason Fetterman may win is those who vote for him want their relatives freed from prison and most of those voters are from the cities of Pittsburgh, Philly, Harrisburg, & Erie.

Fetterman spends almost his entire day playing around on social media. His campaign appearance are all like the one described here - 10 minutes of spouting a phrases that give liberals tingles in their loins. It's obvious why the debate with Oz was pushed to the latest possible moment.

Fetterman's campaign is a duplicate of Biden's campaign: stay as far as possible from the people you claim to want to represent, avoid any possible confrontation by a hostile press, say nothing about important issues, lie about your opponent's positions and trust that the stupid electorate will go your way because... DEMOCRAT! It worked like a charm.

Shortly after the primaries I saw an article which stated that Fetterman's political success up until now has been based on him going around "door-to-door" getting to know, and getting known by, voters. This article describes Dr. Oz doing just that and Fetterman relying on "name recognition" and public speaking events.

Wow. If a guy with a goiter the size of an NFL football came knocking on my door, I would take cover and chamber a round (or two)...
How he ever got elected as Lt Gov of PA is a mystery.

Being a Steeler football fan, I used to like Franco......no more.
This race shouldn't be close. One of the problems here in PA is that we have a lot of RINOs in county Republican offices, and in the PA legislature who are not supporting Oz for Senator or Mastriano for Governor because the candidates they supported lost in the primaries.
That said, I think Oz and Mastriano will still make it over the line.

He may have just lost votes in the Philadelphia area by waving a Steelers towel. The Eagles are 4 and 0 and are the only undefeated team in the NFL.

And to think he still has a better than even chance at winning this senate seat.

Re #6, doesn’t look like a goiter. Goiter has to do with thyroid. Front of neck, not the back.

Any black person in PA who won't vote for Fetterman and won't vote for Oz (why? - he wears a suit, is a successful MD and said crudite?) deserves all the crime and drugs and hopelessness that their town can suffer.

#6, Fetterman's election as Lt. Gov. is not a mystery.
Here is what happened.
In Pennsylvania, the governor and lt. governor run separately.
Fetterman, mayor of a tiny municipality (1750 residents) who won the mayor's race by one vote, went after a sitting Lt. Gov. in the Pa primary, and won. No one on Pa cares who the Lt gov is, since his only duty is to chair the pardoning board.
The victory as Lt. Gov. gave him visibility, and against a weak primary field, he won the dimocrat nomination for U.S. Senator.
Oz started off slowly, and has been gaining momentum. It will be tough for Oz to win, given the electorl corruption in the Philadelphia area, but he may overcome that.

Franco Harris was a great football player who obviously took too many hits to the head. Fetterman reminds me of Uncle Fester in the Addams Family, except Uncle Fester made more sense.

It's astounding that this gargoyle is walking around and not incarcerated. Pennsylvania needs to kick Philadelphia out of the state.

Zito may be the best political reporter ever and she really knows Pennsylvania, espedially Pittsburgh. My maternal family was from the Pittsburgh area and they would never ever have voted for a crude dude like Fetterman. You have to read Zito. She reports so that you get the picture.
