There’s good news that a major publisher of scientific journals is cleaning out the stable of papers whose review process appears corrupted, but the bad news is worse. Not only were these papers published in the first place, but the easily-corrupted system of peer review – which is supposed to be the quality assurance mechanism for the creation and dissemination of scientific knowledge – remains in place with no additional safeguards. A pro-life sidewalk counseling group warned members Tuesday that President Joe Biden’s Justice Department is determined to intimidate pro-life organizations, claiming that two FBI agents showed up to question a pro-life activist praying outside Planned Parenthood – St. Paul – Vandalia Health Center.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' office responded to the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of the migrants flown to Martha's Vineyard by immigration lawyers and activists by showing the migrants signed consent forms.
The lawsuit claims the flights were "a premeditated, fraudulent, and illegal scheme centered on exploiting [the migrants] for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests."
"It is opportunistic that activists would use illegal immigrants for political theater, (Snip) said DeSantis' office on Tuesday.
"The transportation of the immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard was done on a voluntary basis. The immigrants were homeless, hungry, and abandoned – and these activists didn’t care about them then,"

Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., on Tuesday announced five appointments to his new Commission on the State of Hate, and they don’t bode well for conservatives in the Golden State.
According to Newsom’s office, the commission will “assess data on hate crimes in California, provide resources for victims, and make policy recommendations to better protect civil rights.”

Members of a Vermont girls high school volleyball team have been banned from using their own locker room and now have to change in a single bathroom stall after they complained about a transgender teammate. Some teammates allege that the transgender player at Randolph Union High School made an 'inappropriate remark' to some of them while they were changing in the locker room. They now want the school to relocate the transgender player, who hasn't been named. No details of the alleged inappropriate remark have been shared. But Vermont's state law means that students can play sports and use the locker which correspond to the gender with which they identify.

This psychiatrist is knowledgeable and sensible. Parents with children who insist they are the opposite sex should follow her; she provides several resources. Among many other useful things, she says there are many, many doctors and other professionals who are upset by the way these kids are treated, with no consideration of their mental states but pushed into immediate medical measures. These quiet doctors need to get together and come out of the closet to stop the madness.
