U.S. doctors should regularly screen all adults under 65 for anxiety, an influential health guidelines group proposed Tuesday.
It's the first time the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force has recommended anxiety screening in primary care for adults without symptoms. The proposal is open for public comment until Oct. 17, but the group usually affirms its draft guidance. The recommendations are based on a review that began before the Covid-19 pandemic, evaluating studies showing potential benefits and risks from screening. Given reports of a surge in mental health problems linked with pandemic isolation and stress, the guidance is "very timely," said Lori Pbert, a task force member and co-author.

Anxiety, the heart and soul of New York City (based on the average headline printed in the New York Times), goes nationwide.

No! I am too scared to get an anxiety screening.

REALLY? You gotta be kidding me. This is like the TV shows which seem to indicate that in NYC, where so many TV shows are set, about every third person is seeing a psychiatrist, and everyone thinks that this is normal.

Sounds like another excuse for Big Pharma to make big $$$ and the government to get/mandate more of the population on meds to make it easier to control them.
I will pass on that.

Make an appointment for anxiety, get coded with an ICD-10 code related to mental health -> be on the quick list to get any guns taken away.

Its going to be a Brave New World. Aldous Huxley, like George Orwell, was really writing about the future when they thought they were writing satire.

More anxiety, more doctors visits. More doctors visits, more prescriptions. More prescriptions, more Medicare payments. More Medicare payments, more profits. More profits, more power. More power, more legislation, More legislation, more money in politicians pockets.
Rinse. Repeat.

Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
See, we don't need no stinking health care professionals. Our forefathers built and maintained and supported institutions who served the needs of society in several ways, including this.
Join in prayer with others, see if that doesn't help you anxieties

It was Thoreau who aid, in the mid-19th century, "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." At about the same time, Lincoln said, "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." I think they were both right. Anxiety is part of the human experience. You can choose whether or not to focus on it. But, today, having a "diagnosis" is a status symbol. Everybody wants to be a victim.

I'm over 65. The only thing I'm anxious about is the destruction of this nation, and American life, by the Communist retards in power in Washington.

Been dealing with anxiety all my life. You deal with it. You deal with the sources. You discover many people aren't your friends, and you should have anything to do with them. Don't need a doctor for anxiety.

Because we don't already have enough Americans on anti-anxiety medication. Let's get everyone stoned on Big Pharma anti-depressants. Let's also force the insurance companies to pay for it so our costs in that area can increase also, thus justifying the use of anti-depressants. It's one big corporate circle jerk.

Like #15, I've been dealing with anxiety all my life (60+ years). You organize your life as much as you can to minimize stress and uncertainty, and get on with it. One of the biggest cures is getting toxic people and their craziness out of your life.

Liberals and their snowflake kids will flock to these assessments just like they did for Covid testing. They just have to know if they are affected. They will be given Anxiety and depression meds and awarded social security disability payments for life. All at OUR expense of course.

This will go in your health records and be used to prevent you from owning a firearm. Right now it is acceptable for doctors to ask if you have a history of depression and if so ask if there is a firearm in your home.
