Republicans in the House are preparing to roll out their midterm agenda, which they hope will give voters a reason to vote for them and not just against Democrats.
The brainchild of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the “Commitment to America” will have four parts dealing with the economy, security, education/health care, and government accountability.
McCarthy’s office has indicated the Commitment to America will debut in Pittsburgh on September 19. It’s loosely based on the “Contract with American” concept created for the 1994 midterm election that was credited with helping the GOP take over both the House and Senate.

How about instead Republicans actually do something to stop creeping socialism? That would be a first.

How about “Commitment to Make America Great Again”. If they can’t support that goal, they are RINOs!

What would be really exciting is if the Republicans actually studied and understood how the money supply of the Fed actually works. This would allow them to propose much needed federal programs to rebuild crumbling US infrastructure, augment fossil fuels with carbon sequestering advanced nuclear energy generation, complete the border wall, provide federal programs to cities to eliminate homeless blight and underfunded police protection, guarantee all future funding for Social Security and Medicare, and eliminate the stupid annual "debt ceiling" shutdown game that only embarrasses the Congress.
If the Republicans actually showed new thinking and imagination rather than the zero-sum, "pay-as-you-go", "China-owns-us", trade war mentality that bogged down the first Trump term they would wipe the Democrat crime organization out of government for generations.

No more arms or money to Ukraine. The money spent on Ukraine was uncalled for. We need to take care of Americans first. Biden is bankrupting us. soon there will be no money left to pay S,S. Medicare, welfare, college loans, abortions, disability, government funded programs.
We will not send our military to fight foreign wars. We will balance budget and stop the practice of continuing resolutions. Tort Reform. We will not allow unions to put policies in place that negatively affects Americans. Unions not allowed to strike if it creates bad outcomes for Americans. Reject Obamacare.

Not bad but there doesn't seem to be much of what got Glenn Youngkin elected in purple/blue Virginia. Kevin McCarthy doesn't have the pizazz that Newt Gingrich had in 1994. Economic issues, obviously, is at the top of the list of issues but the so-called cultural issues are also vote getters. The Republicans also need to proclaim that the mismanagement of the pandemic are never to be repeated and that men are men and women are women, I also think they should promise to defund the 80,000 new IRS agents,

It better include the rule of law and school vouchers. We need to be safe and we need to get our kids to hell out of these government indoctrination camps. We need a system of private schools that have to compete with each other for students. Imagine how good those schools would be.

Hey Kevin, why haven't you and other Republicans introduce federal legislation calling for national voter ID?? You've had 19 months since Biden was installed as the phony president yet you and Mitch have done nothing. Even if it goes nowhere it is still a rallying cry to the troops that the GOP at least gives half a damn. As for your Commitment to America, will you only be committed if you take power or are you committed now? Americans are fed up with the GOP acting tough then doing nothing. We're tired of being backstabbed and shown the door. Your words are meaningless. Show commitment now!!! - not next year!!

All general platitudes. How disappointing, yet how predictable! The Contract with America listed specific issues and goals. It promised to vote on each one within the first 100 days, if I recall correctly. This statement wouldn't rouse me to get up and get a lemonade on a hot, global warming summer day.

Ignore everything they say. Look at what they do. No matter if they are in or out of power, what they do is a fat lot of nothing.
Well, they do accept donor money, so thats something. And they deficit spend and raise taxes, so thats something too. And they pass Patriot Acts and other infringements on liberty. And they do love to start endless unwinnable wars. So maybe they DO stay busy.

McCarthy IS part of the Turtle/RINO faction!!!
Just a another damn bag of tricks that sounds good, then its back to business as usual doing NOTHING but more abandonment of bedrock Republican principles they have prostituted away.
Avoiding Big Spending, Avoiding Big Government, Avoiding higher taxes and regulations on the individual have virtually been forgotten. They don't even raise a stink when the Demonrat socialist Marxists promote these things-- they fritter away in DC and WE PAY.
Mr. Newt actually delivered something. One of the reasons people liked PDJT was that he would put up a fight and call this kind of thing out, and the very people who want to raise money off of him are the same people who were the biggest back stabbers..
Except of course for those entrenched government employees who defied policy or slow walked things and are closested DEM socialists in cushy jobs where mediocre job performance would have normally gotten them fired!

Why wasn’t this done by late January 2021? All they needed to do was look at all of the EOs that TaliBiden signed on Day One and come out against them with a serious “Commitment”. Anyone with a brain and some honesty could tell that every EO was going to cause terrible damage to the country.
Too little. Too late.

Once the left calls McCarthy 'a threat to democracy' and the Commitment to America is racist supported by white supremacist it will be scrapped and never heard from again. MAGA works just fine. Brainchild and Kevin McCarthy don't belong together, brainless is more like it.

McCarthy is not my first choice as speaker. But I'm sure he'll win the seat. My worry is the senate. If the R's pick McConnell yet again, whether we have the majority or not, we are s=c=r=e=w=e=d. What an uncharismatic, uninspiring, mumbling, boring old man he is. I give him credit for NOT letting there be a vote on Garland for SCOTUS, and for shepherding thru all of Trump's judicial nominees, including SCOTUS, but that is all. #DitchMitch

Not buying it Kevin, you people hate us. Just tell the truth--about the jabs, the mass murder in hospitals, eminent collapse of the economy, the looming food shortages, the FBI false flags, the institutional vote fraud, etc...Why does the IRS need 87000 new armed agents? Why are you not combatting the lies about CO2 and nitrogen which are PLANT FOOD??!! People in grade school used to know this. How about the utter idiocy of electric cars and "green energy". I could honestly go on for days....these people are only trying to fool us again. I am so far past that.

Where is the part about eliminating anti-white racism? Or in actually educating children? Where is the part where Republicans pledge to open the pipelines and consider nuclear power? Where is the part where we pledge to manufacture our own tech chips, Rx drugs, fertilizer? Where is the commitment to stop censorship of political enemies and to disband the FBI in favor of a new agency that isn’t political? What about the two-tier “justice” system?
To me, this “commitment” is vague and with little consideration of what is bothering US instead of the Swamp.

I don't care what kind of statement they come up with now. Actions speak louder than words and their support of what's best for America has been sorely lacking. Their support of a secure southern border has been all talk and little action -- I believe they really want all that cheap labor coming across the border and don't care about how it hurts Americans and our communities. Most of them just want to take about Ukraine and any dust up they can get involved in around the world and to hell with protecting OUR own borders. When election time rolls around they are all talk and then forget about it once elected. Trump was the only one who actually kept his word when elected.
