Joe Manchin cast the deciding vote for the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, and it may end up costing him his political career if a new poll is to be believed. Manchin, who had originally pledged not to sign on to any new spending bill during the country’s current inflationary boom, suddenly switched his position at the end of July. The bill he negotiated, which cost nearly a trillion dollars, was full of wasteful green energy subsidies and payouts to special interests. It also represented a stabbing in the back of Republican senators who had trusted him to keep his word about reconciliation after voting for the CHIPS Act.

Any so-called Republican who trusted Joe Manchin is a fool, and should be voted out of office ASAP. What did they expect? He’s a DEMOCRAT. That means he’s a liar, a thief and a snake.

The worst crime given only a passing mention, is that once again the worthless, POS republican Senators "reached across the aisle" to the communist death democrats, and of course once again they were willing dupes. Manchin is at heart a radical communist death democrat and his previous posturing as a fiscal "moderate, should not have fooled anyone. The real story is the corrupt, quisling republicans in the Senate, led by the worthless China stooge McConnell, once again betrayed We, the People and our Country.
Never, ever trust a communist death democrat. When will these so-called republican ever learn this simple lesson. The communist death democrats are our deadly enemies and will stab us in the front and back any chance they get no matter how may lives will be lost.
Damn you to eternal hell McConnell and the rest of you republican Senators who are willing accessories to imposing a totalitarian government over us. Damn you all to Hell for your treason.

I have never voted for him, and am ready for him to be gone. Like Graham, Romney, and Murkowski he is completely unreliable. He has no real beliefs except his own enrichment. I thought he did pretty well as governor (for a democrat), and he's done a few good things as senator, but hes done just as many bad things.
I have a friend who knows him personally. He likes to drink beer and he treats the help like they are his friends rather than employees. Thats something anyway.

Joe's career-ending act as a US Senator from West Virginia was cast when he voted to impeach Donald Trump. PDT carried that state with 68% of the vote, and with all 55 counties being red. Manchin squeezed into re-election with 49% of the vote in a three way race. Accepting that, I am sure that he was pleased to help Schumer out in return for some illegal transfer into the Manchin retirement nest egg.
He was a decent governor, but he sure caught the swamp-feaver quickly when he docked his boat in DC waters.

Joe Manchin was elected WVa Secretary of State in 2001.
He will not run for elective office again. 2024 will mark 21 years of goodwill from his fellow WVa citizens flushed down the toilet with one back-stabbing vote.

Manchin is a snake, was a snake and always will be a snake. He is playing the long game now. Reelection is gone but he eyes a bigger prize, the presidency. Biden can’t run, Harris is unelectable and he sees himself as the moderate democrat. Of course the knee pad wearing chap stick using media loves him. The media will push him as the unifier”. He is not! He is another leftist tool with nice clothes.

All politicians are dishonest by common standards. But Democrats have raised that standard to exceptional levels. Manchin is no exception. For W. Virginia voters - remember the adage - fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!

My husband always said Manchin was a snake in the grass, while I thought he was a principled legislator, (except for the fact that he voted Party Line 99% of the time.) His standing firm re: energy was brave and wonderful. Until we discovered my husband was right---Manchin, all along, was just looking for the best deal for him, no matter how it added to the debt. And of course the REAL joke is that the "deal" lasted about 47 seconds, until the Democratic Progressives decided it was not going to happen., He looks, now, like an unprincipled fool.

We have learned one things about Democrats: No matter how "moderate" they appear and no matter how they throw the GOP a bone once in a while, they are at heart cowards to the Party hierarchy and to their own greed.

They control the voting machines, and will install someone they can more easily manage with either blackmail or cash.

He will retire from politics when his term is up in two years. He won't return to WV. He'll end up on some cushy "woke" corporate boards and enjoy his house boat on the Potomac. I wish the people of WV would have tossed him aside years ago. He never could be counted on to keep his word and do the right thing.

West Virginia has been ill-represented for many decades from Robert KKK Byrd to Joe Manchin, the latter being a traitor to his State, who, along with fellow Demonrats, destroyed the State's coal industry. My guess is he will retire, moving his houseboat to some obscure marina in Pensacola.
