On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) reacted to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s claim that school closures were the fault of Republicans and reopening schools was done by the work of Democrats and the Biden administration by stating that the claim is complete “revisionist history” because left-wing policymakers shut down schools and President Biden even encouraged school closures. Kennedy also said Biden could have used his speech on Thursday to talk about how to make up the education loss from school closures.
Kennedy said, “I mean, it’s just not true. The American people watched it.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre rudely blew off CNN White House correspondent Jeremy Diamond who insistently wanted to know what “concrete actions” President Biden intends to take to combat the MAGA “threat to democracy.”(Video) During the White House press briefing on Friday, Jean-Pierre was pummeled with questions regarding Biden’s bizarre and alarming speech, “The Continued Battle for the Soul of the Nation,” given in front of a blood-red backdrop with Marines flanking him from behind. The speech purportedly attacked supporters of former President Trump, calling them a threat to the nation. He railed that Americans must stand against “MAGA forces.”

Officials on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border searched for more victims Saturday after at least nine migrants died while trying to cross the rain-swollen Rio Grande, a dangerous border-crossing attempt in an area where the river level had risen by more than 2 feet in a single day.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Mexican officials discovered the victims near Eagle Pass, Texas, on Thursday, following days of heavy rains. U.S. officials recovered six bodies, while Mexican teams recovered three, according to a CBP statement. It is one of the deadliest drownings on the U.S.-Mexico border in recent history.

After yet another cancelled launch on Saturday, NASA's Artemis 1 rocket will not lift off during this launch period, which ends on Tuesday, likely pushing the date back to October.

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said the shuttle was sent back to the Vehicle Assembly Building 20 times before the attempted launch.

A top official at the U.S. Justice Department was a law partner with Hunter Biden’s attorney Chris Clark, raising serious concerns about potential conflicts of interest as the years-long federal probe into the president’s son has reportedly reached a critical stage.
Clark, a partner at New York-based firm Latham & Watkins, worked with Nicholas McQuaid on at least four different cases when he was also a partner at the practice, court records indicate.
The cases were high-stakes commercial litigation where the pair regularly defended clients facing multimillion-dollar lawsuits.
McQuaid was named acting head of the Justice Department’s criminal division on Jan 20, 2021 — the day President Biden was inaugurated.

CNN is facing questions from critics after the network was busted altering the lighting for President Biden’s Thursday address, softening the blood-red hues to calmer shades of pink.

There are two things the press loves more than anything. The first is obviously January 6th, which has become an absolute obsession at this point. The second thing is virtue signaling against those who question the 2020 election, even in the mildest terms. If you don’t believe that Joe Biden is the greatest president in history, elected in the most secure election ever held despite many of the rules being changed just months prior to voting, you are an “election-denier.”

President Joe Biden leads former President Donald Trump by 6 points in a 2024 hypothetical matchup, a Wall Street Journal poll found Friday.
The poll asked respondents, “Hypothetically, if the 2024 election for President were held today and the candidates were Joe Biden, the Democrat, and Donald Trump, the Republican, for whom would you vote?” Fifty percent chose Biden, while only 44 percent selected Trump. Six percent were undecided. In March, the poll had both Biden and Trump tied at 45 percent with nine percent undecided. In November, the poll had Biden leading by one point (46-45 percent) with 10 percent undecided.

I saw a feeble old man babbling about the supposed accomplishments of his failing administration and making a pathetic attempt to convince his own fellow Democrats that he deserves to be nominated as the party’s presidential candidate in 2024.

Douglas, Ariz.—The Chevy pickup truck growled like a wary pitbull as it crept along the narrow dirt road parallel to Arizona’s southern border wall fence with Mexico. Sam, the owner of a private Arizona security firm, stopped the truck and put the gear in park. “We’re on the Roosevelt Easement right now,” he says bluntly. “The federal government owns this entire road.” Something, though, was glaringly out of place on Aug. 24. Three massive irrigation gates built into the steel border wall fence were open for anyone to walk through.(Snip)“There’s another open gate “bigger than this one, down that way,” he says, pointing up the easement.

The White House and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre don’t care much about the truth. All they care about is saying things that sound good to help them hold onto their power, even if they have no relation to reality. Holding onto power is always the goal. So when Joe Biden had a primetime spot to talk to the American people, he didn’t talk about the concerns that are affecting the American people like inflation, as Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) observed. Instead, Biden attacked millions of Americans, dividing the country against itself to deflect from his failures, because the Democrats have nothing else to run on but hatred.

FedEx Ground's delivery system is at risk of complete collapse as the local contractors it relies upon face rising costs and without any sign that their compensation will go up any time soon. The FedEx Ground network relies upon local delivery companies to make the package and parcel dropoffs on behalf of the $54 billion multinational conglomerate.(Snip)FedEx Ground works by utilizing the services of around 6,000 small businesses that are under contract with the company in order to make doorstep deliveries. The aces at the New York Times are indignant over the “torrent” of “vitriol unleashed on federal law enforcement officials” following the Mar-a-Lago raid. It’s as if the press corps has memory-holed the last six years of FBI history.Director Christopher Wray’s Federal Bureau of Investigation isn’t looking all that different from James Comey’s FBI. The bureau again faces questions over politicized agents and questionable investigations. Mr. Comey left a foundering ship, and it’s an open question whether the current leadership has the will or wherewithal to right it.

Joe Biden’s speech at Philadelphia’s Independence Hall on Thursday was one of the most remarkable in living memory. By “remarkable,” I hasten to add that I do not mean “good.” On the contrary, it was a breathtaking act of what the psychoanalysts call “projection,” blaming others for the bad things you do yourself.
The speech itself was a malignant act of demagoguery that will have colonels and generalissimos everywhere catching their breath with envy. The neo-totalitarian stage set, replete with red lighting effects and military personal flanking the shouting, gesticulating Biden, was right out of central casting. Next time, perhaps Biden will wear epaulettes along with his signature aviators.

CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox News all refused to air Biden's prime-time speech attacking MAGA Republicans and Donald Trump because it was too 'political' and close to midterms.
People involved in negotiations over Biden's Thursday address in Philadelphia told the Washington Post the networks deemed the remarks 'political' in nature and opted not to televise it as it came two months before midterm elections.
Instead, CBS aired a rerun of Young Sheldon, NBC broadcasted a rerun of Law and Order, ABC aired its Press Your Luck game show, and Fox News, the most-watched of the cable news channels, aired its latest episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight.

After Marine veteran Lloyd Muldrow stopped an attack by an armed assailant at a Baltimore bar, police officers thanked him—and then they arrested him. Now the Good Samaritan credited with saving a man’s life faces up to a year in prison, charged with violating a city ordinance that forbids bringing handguns within 100 feet of a public building, even though he neutralized the attack without drawing his pistol. Mr. Muldrow, a North Carolina security specialist, holds a concealed weapons permit, but it was issued in Virginia, not Maryland. Even so, he has no intention of accepting a plea deal when he appears at his Oct. 31 hearing

Earlier this summer, when everything seemed to be going wrong for President Biden — his economic agenda appeared all but dead, gas prices were rising and some Democrats felt he failed to meet the moment after the Supreme Court overturned federal abortion rights — many Democrats were speaking privately of wanting a new party leader in 2024. Biden may not have faced explicit primary threats, but a handful of younger Democrats whose profile was rising seemed to be holding themselves out as more passionate, forceful leaders for the party, as governors like Gavin Newsom of California and J.B. Pritzker of Illinois spoke

Even though yours truly took a two-week hiatus from his weekly documentation of supreme stupidity, knuckleheadedness itself did not take a vacation. In fact, the phenomenon was clearly working as feverishly as ever, then switched into overdrive this week. Up until Thursday evening, the front runner for Knucklehead of the Week had been President Joe Biden’s Press Secretary, the inestimable Karine Jean-Pierre. But after Thursday’s bizarre, occult-like speech from Mr. Biden, our Commander-in-Chief sealed the deal as we bestow the honor upon him for a record sixth time. Congratulations, Mr. President, how proud you must be.

Covid lockdowns did no favors to Americans’ mental health, but many psychologists are occupied by other matters. Consider the transformation of the American Psychological Association, which, over the past two years, has committed itself—and the field of psychology along with it—to identity politics.
The association’s recently released Racial Equity Action Plan is just the latest installment. The APA’s makeover appears to have accelerated during the riots in the summer of 2020. That June, the APA asked for feedback from its members as to how it might use “the power of psychology” to address the “pandemic of racism.” In April 2021, the APA released its Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Framework,

Satan: “Better to reign in Hell, then serve in Heav'n.”

Establishment Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell recently did his best to “sabotage” Republicans' chances of re-taking the Senate when he implied that the “quality” of the anti-establishment Trump-supporting Republican Senate candidates is subpar:
“I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate. Senate races are just different [because] candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome,” he said.
Similarly, when Joe Biden was on the ropes with dreadful poll numbers for his disastrous policies, the usual cast of weakling closet Democrats

Dan Rather asked this question today and it seems to be resonating with a lot of people. His comment has 34k likes so far. The replies are full of messages like this one: There’s even a #CNNIsTheNewFox hashtag circulating. The cause of the immediate outburst isn’t very clear but my best guess is that Rather was reacting to this bit of news from John Harwood: There’s even a #CNNIsTheNewFox hashtag circulating. Like millions of others, I scratched my head over what the Democrats were trying to achieve with their Nuremberg-themed show last night. But then I realized it is not a coincidence that observers labeled Biden’s speech “dark” or that the stage was literally dark. Last night’s speech was a continuation of the “Dark Brandon” campaign that I wrote about in Dork Brandon.
The Democrats have tried to claim the “Brandon” joke as their own. The White House literally has dubbed Joe Biden “Dark Brandon” and put out images of Biden as a superhero (or maybe super dictator). In that campaign, like last night, there were echoes of the German Political

Facebook just keeps finding new ways to be awful. The latest stunt is to jump into the comments section of your posts to insert some approved agitprop that stays near the top of your feed. This particular “fact” check concerns an estimate from a car dealership showing that a customer would be charged nearly $30,000 for an EV battery for his Chevy Volt. A Facebook page called Car Coach Reports, which focuses on auto news, posted a picture of the invoice on August 29. Two days later, PolitiFact waded into the comments section to add their take on the story—namely that the battery in question was for a 10-year-old vehicle

Vladimir Putin last night sparked a fresh energy war with the West as he kept Europe's gas pipeline closed after the G7 agreed an oil price cap to choke his war chest. Moscow blamed 'oil leaks' in a turbine after announcing the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which runs to Germany under the Baltic Sea, would not reopen today as planned after three days of maintenance. Sparking fears of fuel prices rising yet further, state energy firm Gazprom said the facility would remain closed indefinitely until the leaks were fixed. The announcement came hours after Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi agreed with the world's richest democracies to try and slash the Kremlin's

I’m pretty surprised to see this today. Just a few days ago I was very critical of the Washington Post for becoming the “goth teen of national newspapers” for its fixation on the death of democracy and today the editorial board has published something criticizing the tone and content of Joe Biden’s speech last night. They editorial opens by saying they agree with the idea democracy is under assault but quickly pivot to why Biden’s speech did a terrible job of addressing those concerns.
The difficult, perhaps insurmountable, challenge that Mr. Biden confronted — just eight weeks before midterm elections that will determine the future course of his presidency

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) scores for 2022 were released Thursday. The news is devastating. The decline in reading and math scores will not be corrected for years. School closures during the coronavirus pandemic that caused students to stay home and learn online is to blame.
During a White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre blamed Republicans for school closures. Sadly, I’ve come to expect very little in intelligent discourse coming from the press secretary but this was particularly bad. The pandemic began when a Republican president was in the White House but she blamed Republicans for school closures because none voted for
