This legislation has been praised by President Biden, Al Gore, and other proponents of highly progressive policies. Dubbed the “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022,” Senate Democrats voted to pass this bill only 11 days after releasing its 725 pages of text. House Democrats followed suit five days later. Democrats pushed this bill so rapidly through Congress that the Congressional Budget Office estimates it won’t be able to “provide a complete cost estimate for the legislation” until more than a week after Congress passed it.

As soon as President Biden took office, the number of foreigners crossing the southern U.S. border illegally exploded. When asked about it in his first press conference in March 2021, Biden brushed it off, saying “this happens every year” and “nothing has changed.” [snip] This chart proves that everything Biden, Harris, and Mayorkas have said about tackling the border crisis were flagrant lies. The chart compares monthly “apprehensions” at the border under Biden with the average monthly apprehensions from 2012 through 2020.
A new poll finds that more than half of Americans think the U.S. is being invaded by illegal aliens flooding into the country. And they are right, no matter what President Joe Biden claims, or how diligently the mainstream press tries to cover it up.
“More than half (54%) of Americans think it’s at least somewhat true that we’re experiencing an invasion at the southern border,” according to the NPR/Ipsos poll.
That is a shocking finding, given the denials from the administration that there is a crisis at all, and the fact that the mainstream media will cover anything but the flood of illegal immigrants under Biden.
Sitting presidents usually get the benefit of the doubt from their own party. But looking ahead, President Joe Biden might have problems whipping up Democratic enthusiasm for a second term. The opposite is true for former President Donald Trump, the latest TIPP Poll shows.
For the August TIPP Poll, we asked members of both parties a similar question: “If the (Democratic/Republican) presidential primary were held today, who would you vote for?” The national poll of 1,182 registered voters was conducted online from Aug. 2-4, with a margin of error of +/-2.9 percentage points.
Americans, good natured as they are, often assume that government agencies deserve an implicit trust from the public that they’re sworn to serve, and that they will not violate that trust. This will involve the hiring of more than 87,000 new IRS agents. If past is prologue, it’s reasonable to expect this spells bad news for lower-income Americans.

No, that headline’s not a joke. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, once so popular it had its own TV show solely dedicated to its heroics, has become a hyper-politicized, jackbooted bully that no longer serves the American people or the U.S. Constitution, which its employees are sworn to protect. It has become, instead, the intelligence arm and domestic enforcer of the far left.

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Monday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that former President Donald Trump was the first president of the United States “without character.”

Gov. Kathy Hochul has a whopping 24-point lead over Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin with 11 weeks to go before Election Day, according to a new poll released Tuesday.
The incumbent Democrat had 55% support among likely voters in the poll conducted between Aug. 17 and Aug. 22 by SurveyUSA on behalf of WNYT-TV in Albany. Another 31% backed Zeldin and 14% said they were undecided.
There was some good news for Zeldin in the survey, with 33% of voters saying battling inflation was the most important issue when it comes to deciding their vote for governor. Health care and criminal justice reform were a distant second on 12% each.

When I was an undergraduate in the late 1960s, I underwent a kind of transformative experience during a classroom debate with another student that I believed I was clearly winning when the philosophy professor corrected me. He reminded me that when engaged in a philosophical debate, as opposed to the 9th grade Debating Challenge, the point is not simply to vanquish one’s opponent but to find the truth. In order to do the former one may use any means fair or foul to destroy the opponent. For the latter one must do the exact opposite and represent one’s opponent’s position in the strongest terms possible.

Wade reversal — the opening sentence of their recent op-ed published in The New York Times is, “When liberals lose at the Supreme Court — as they increasingly have over the past half-century” — two Ivy League professors laid out their claims for an America without Constitutional limitations. They suggest, “the way to seek real freedom will be to use procedures consistent with popular rule.” Of course, the piece is polished sewage: tyranny of the majority is a very real, and very dangerous threat to the individual, (perhaps they should go read Federalist 10, but they likely wouldn’t understand that either).
