Dick Cheney eviscerated Donald Trump as the greatest threat to the United States of all time in a new campaign ad for his daughter, Rep. Liz Cheney, who is facing steep primary prospects.
'In our nation’s 246 year history there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump,' Cheney said in a new clip.
The congresswoman brought out her 81-year-old former vice president dad as a last ditch effort to defy recent polling that puts her squarely behind primary rival Harriet Hageman ahead of an Aug. 16 primary.

A viral tweet is indicative of the unhinged fear that liberals dramatize when it comes to visiting red states such as Texas, Kentucky, or Florida and how unsafe one New York resident claims to feel driving through conservative America.
“My husband thinks I’m crazy because I refuse to visit or even drive THROUGH a red state because I dont feel safe. Would you drive through Kentucky or Texas with NY State license plates? Am I being obtuse?” a liberal New Yorker tweeted.
The tweet set off a ton of reactions on social media. It currently has over 9,600 likes, so either the bots are very busy or

WNBA star Brittney Griner was sentenced to nine years in prison after she was found guilty of drug possession and drug smuggling by a Russian judge on Thursday. She was also fined 1 million rubles.
Russian prosecutors asked the court to hand Griner a 9.5-year prison sentence. The defense then started its arguments. Griner faces up to 10 years in prison.
Griner offered an apology ahead of the sentencing. "I want to apologize to my teammates, my club, my fans and the city of (Yekaterinburg) for my mistake that I made and the embarrassment that I brought on them," she said. "I want to also apologize to my parents, my siblings,

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is rapidly building a reputation for herself as the high priestess of ill-preparedness.
“I would have to get back to you on that” is her typical reply to even the most elementary of questions.
She also isn't exactly an adept wordsmith. If she continues down this path, perhaps someday she may surpass Kamala Harris.
Just yesterday, Joe Biden signed an executive order that ensures access to abortion for women following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade (1973).
Biden said the order helps women travel out of state to receive abortions, ensuring that health care providers comply with federal law

President Biden blasted Russia for sentencing Brittney Griner to 9 years in a penal colony for cannabis possession and smuggling, calling the decision “unacceptable.”
“Today, American citizen Brittney Griner received a prison sentence that is one more reminder of what the world already knew: Russia is wrongfully detaining Brittney,” Biden said in a statement released by the White House.
“It’s unacceptable, and I call on Russia to release her immediately so she can be with her wife, loved ones, friends, and teammates,” he continued.

The World Health Organization declaration of Monkeypox as a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern” (PHEIC), was made by one man, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has no medical training, over the objection of the majority of his own expert committee of medical and scientific advisors. Nine of the committee members thought a PHEIC should not be declared and six supported a declaration.
“Nine and six is very, very close.(snip) I decided to act as a tie-breaker,” Tedros said(snip)
Perhaps it is the “new math” that leads to the conclusion of a “tie” with a 3-vote majority on one side? And why did Tedros decide to go with the minority

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Thursday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360 ” that the United States could not be considered a nation of laws if former President Donald Trump was not prosecuted.
CNN chief national affairs analyst Kasie Hunt said, “Some have expressed concern that prosecuting former President Trump which turned him into a martyr and potentially add to his political strength for the base that follows him pretty rabidly. Do you share that concern? Do you have any concern that the prosecution would strengthen Donald Trump’s political hand?” Cheney said, “I don’t think that it is appropriate to think about it that way because the question for us is,

Just how bad is the Biden administration and Democrat Congress's grossly misnamed "Inflation Reduction Act" of 2022?
The Wall Street Journal has a shocking lead editorial titled "The IRS is About to Go Beast Mode" about the particulars of its $80 billion expansion of the IRS, which is six times the size of the tax agency's current $12.6 billion budget:
The $80 billion is more than six times the current annual IRS budget of $12.6 billion. The money will be ladled out over nine years and comes with few strings attached. The main Democratic command is for the tax agency to bring the hammer down on taxpayers.

Senate Democrats cleared a huge hurdle Thursday night by securing Kyrsten Sinema’s support for a modified signature climate, tax and health care proposal, and will move forward on the legislation on Saturday.
The Arizona Democratic centrist announced that she’s signed off on the legislation after winning tweaks that include the removal of a narrowed loophole for taxation of certain investment income, a provision known as carried interest. In a statement, Sinema said she’s also won changes that would “protect advanced manufacturing, and boost our clean energy economy.”

Americans are no strangers to “times that try men’s souls,” to borrow a phrase from Thomas Paine. By mid-1945, the United States had been at war for three-and-a-half years, enduring the draft, separation from loved ones, mounting numbers of casualties, and rationing, with no end in sight. Many Americans were weary, not unlike our feelings now, after two-and-a-half years of privations and anguish related to the COVID-19 pandemic. That sense of anxiety and the widespread desire to return to normality brought to mind how World War II was suddenly – and to many, unexpectedly – resolved.

The Biden administration and U.S. public health officials are developing a plan to use public health emergency authorities to speed up the distribution of the monkeypox vaccine, two senior administration officials and another person with knowledge of the matter told POLITICO.
A decision memo created by the Department of Health and Human Services has circulated through U.S. health agencies and secured broad support from agency heads. The memo would call monkeypox a public health emergency, according to the two senior administration officials. White House monkeypox response coordinator Robert Fenton also supports using these authorities to speed up

Craft breweries across America have been on the front lines of businesses facing higher material costs because of inflation.
Now, many are confronting a shortage of a key ingredient: carbon dioxide, the gas that gives beer its crisp, effervescent taste.
And one brewer has already said it plans to shut down a key manufacturing plant and lay off workers as a result.
Night Shift Brewing, in Everett, Massachusetts, just outside Boston, cited the CO2 shortage as the reason it is suspending operations at its longtime facility and outsourcing to nearby locations instead.
"Come October 1, we won’t likely have jobs for many of this team," the company said in a statement on Instagram.
