The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation served a lawsuit on Tuesday to the owners of a bar in Miami that hosts drag shows for children.
Earlier this month, footage of a drag queen attempting to entertain a toddler while parading around topless in the R House bar in Wynwood, Florida began circulating across the internet prompting the state to launch an investigation. (Photo) The video featuring the bare-chested transgender performer and child was shared on TikTok by a user named “nononie” who gleamed over the lewd performance.

California and New York are the most popular of 15 US states where Chinese buyers are purchasing property after other countries forced them out for driving up the housing market.
Chinese investors bought $6.1billion worth of property in the US between April 2021 to April 2022, a report by The National Association of Realtors (NAR) revealed.
Florida ties with Indiana for the third hottest pick with the Chinese. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, 43, called a 'huge problem.'
'I don't think they should be able to do it. I think the problem is these companies have ties to the CCP, and it's not always apparent

House Democrats on Wednesday delayed a plan to fund the police amid infighting before midterm elections.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was unable to win enough support to fund police and has instead pushed the much needed funding off until the House returns after its August recess, Punchbowl News reported.
Establishment Democrats, such as Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), had been trying to pass the police funding for months to shore up their political vulnerabilities head of the election. But far-left Democrats, led by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), have opposed the funding of police.

Sen. Joe Manchin III has once again changed his position on a budget reconciliation package, announcing Wednesday that he and Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer have agreed to legislation that would include climate and tax provisions that two weeks ago he was not ready to support.
The duo said in a joint statement that they'd "finalized legislative text" that would lower deficits by $300 billion over a decade, devote $369.8 billion to clean energy and climate change programs and extend expanded subsidies to purchase health insurance on the 2010 health care law's exchanges for three years.
The measure would preserve the prescription drug pricing deal Manchin and Schumer had previously

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced his intention to sue CNN, one of the prime purveyors of what Trump has famously deemed “fake news,” over “repeated defamatory statements” against him, warning that he will take similar action against other media outlets as well.
The 282-page letter, addressed to CNN’s Chief Executive Officer Chris Licht as well as CNN’s executive Vice President and General Counsel David Vigilante, demands the network publish what is described as”

Former President Donald Trump should announce his election bid for 2024 on the Tuesday after Labor Day. Here’s why.
Trump is an asset—and not, as beltway insiders like to assert—a liability on the campaign trail, especially in key Senate and gubernatorial races. Donald Trump revitalized a crumbling, corporatist Republican Party and began making it his own America First party, which reinvigorated it. He turned it into a party that welcomed the working class, Hispanics, black Americans, and Asian Americans. Now these groups are voting red, or at least leaving the Democratic Party, in staggering numbers;

Imports are plummeting… should be a good thing… trade imbalance shrinks…. that lifts GDP calculations…. but the problem is…
…. Consumer Demand Has Collapsed.
The state of the U.S. economy is not as difficult as the ‘experts’ always claim. Simple business and checkbook economics always, always, tell you the future. You just have to be willing to accept things as they are, not as you would wish them to be. Let’s have an honest chat. We need it.Remember, it was November 2021, and no one was paying attention but retail hiring was negative. The month before the 2021 Christmas holiday, when historically businesses would be adding people

For about 70 years, the definition of a recession has been simple: Two straight quarters of negative GDP growth. Everyone who has taken an Economics 101 class was taught the same thing, and until recently, there has been no argument on the matter.
In fact, the only time in modern history where two-straight quarters of negative growth didn’t define a recession was at the beginning of George W. Bush’s term. In that case, a single quarter of negative growth was used as the deciding point. (Tweet)

he Federal Reserve will release its newest policy statement on Wednesday afternoon, and is expected to hike its key interest rate by three-quarters of a percentage point to battle high inflation.
As economic growth sputters, the central bank is caught in an awkward dance as it attempts to tamp down inflation with higher rates without tipping the country into a recession.
Markets will be carefully watching Fed Chair Jerome Powell's press conference at 2.30pm for signs of how aggressive the central bank is prepared to move against inflation at its next meeting in September.

U.S. officials today said they have little fear that China could attack Nancy Pelosi's plane if she flies to Taiwan as Beijing doubled down on their threat to take 'firm and strong measures' if the House speaker visits the island.
If Pelosi does travel to Taiwan, which is still an uncertainty, the U.S. military would increase its movement of forces and assets in the Indo-Pacific region, officials said.
The officials declined to provide details of their plans, but said that fighter jets, ships, surveillance assets and other military systems would likely be used to provide overlapping rings of protection for her flight to Taiwan
