Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) lamented the cost of working as a member of Congress in an Instagram post despite her substantial congressional salary. Members of Congress are required to occupy one residence in Washington, D.C., as well as one in the state from which they are representing, according to the New York Democrat. This leads to "class dynamics” within Congress and causes economic strains for those who struggle to afford two residences, she argued. “It’s insanely expensive, there is no stipend or per diem for it, and you’re not allowed to write it off even though your job forces you

She's so wonderful, how could you not love this woman, and believe me she won't pick up a check.
No wonder everyone wants to date her. At once.

They should build dormitories and they have to live there, they could have a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchenette. Problem solved.

Has this bartender ever done anything except gripe and gritch and try to call attention to herself?
She deposed a 20-year establishment term for her first term by only having a little more than 16,000 votes.
The media worships her, but for what reason?

Sandy, you've been in Congress less than 4 years. Everyone starts out at the bottom. Give it some time, learn how to use your public office for private gain, and it won't be long before you'll be enjoying wealth on par with the Speaker.

I guess the BU Economics Major / bartender didn't bother to check the salary of a Representative and the cost of living in the DC area and leasing a Tesla before spending other people's money to win the seat.
BTW did she graduate with loan debt and, if so, has she paid back the loan or is she waiting for "forgiveness" since she, obviously, didn't learn anything to earn the degree.

Look, there is a solution to this. A simple dorm building could be provided to those in the Congress. A room with a bathroom. A bed, desk, table, chair and small table. Basically, the college single. They would pay the average rate for a dorm room rate. A microwave and small refrigerator should be adequate. Who the hell says you need to have a "second home"? Pray to God this creature never gets any real power. She is a total loser.

This is not the first time Congress has complained about the cost of living in DC. Build a congressional compound and cram them all in like the rats they are.

She can't get by on $174K. She rents in DC in the Navy Yard (expensive). In NYC, who knows where she lives as she doesn't give out her real address. She definitely has a silver spoon in her mouth.
