Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) lamented the cost of working as a member of Congress in an Instagram post despite her substantial congressional salary. Members of Congress are required to occupy one residence in Washington, D.C., as well as one in the state from which they are representing, according to the New York Democrat. This leads to "class dynamics” within Congress and causes economic strains for those who struggle to afford two residences, she argued. “It’s insanely expensive, there is no stipend or per diem for it, and you’re not allowed to write it off even though your job forces you

I guess the BU Economics Major / bartender didn't bother to check the salary of a Representative and the cost of living in the DC area and leasing a Tesla before spending other people's money to win the seat. BTW did she graduate with loan debt and, if so, has she paid back the loan or is she waiting for "forgiveness" since she, obviously, didn't learn anything to earn the degree.

Look, there is a solution to this. A simple dorm building could be provided to those in the Congress. A room with a bathroom. A bed, desk, table, chair and small table. Basically, the college single. They would pay the average rate for a dorm room rate. A microwave and small refrigerator should be adequate. Who the hell says you need to have a "second home"? The reason: There might come a time when the incumbent president isn’t the most likely nominee the next time around, for whatever reason. And his

President Joe Biden finds himself far underwater with voters, facing foreign crises and increasingly scary inflation figures — all of which attract comparisons to America's 39th president, Jimmy Carter. Carter is perhaps the president most closely associated with high inflation, and thanks to a legacy that includes a stiff 1980 primary challenge and a decisive reelection loss to Ronald Reagan, he's a president to whom no White House Democrat wants to be compared. "High inflation and rising gas prices are economic numbers that make people nervous, which tends to bring down presidential approval ratings — all of that is similar," said Robert

CNN host John King thinks voters are being too harsh on Democrats over inflation and is calling for them to be shown “grace” as the fractured party gets slammed over skyrocketing prices and catastrophic policies. With midterms looming in November when Democrats are widely expected to get thrashed and as Americans are crushed by out-of-control inflation, it has become the overriding factor for most voters and that has Democrats terrified. The higher inflation goes, the lower President Biden’s poll numbers are and they are already at historic lows. But Biden “has lost significant ground with Catholics since his election,” reports Susan Crabtree of RealClearPolitics. Citing “findings in the latest survey of Catholic voter mood by RealClear Opinion Research in partnership with Catholic-themed television network EWTN,” Crabtree writes that now “just 47% of Catholics approve of Biden’s job performance, while 53% disapprove.” Biden remains popular with Hispanic Catholics — “Biden’s approval rating among Latino Catholics stands at an impressive 59%,” writes Crabtree — but his support among white Catholics has sharply declined and stands at a mere 36 percent.
