Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon is continuing his one-man assault on the city, and according to our sources, he has now decided that victims and families of victims of violent crimes should no longer be notified when the convict comes up for parole. They should just read it in the newspaper like everyone else. (snip) Former prosecutor and child advocate Kathleen Cady responded to Debbault:
Gascon is violating the California Constitution again. Victims have an absolute right to be notified of parole hearings (Cal Constitution Art I, Section 28((b)(15)).

Dr. John Bruchalski is an OB/GYN in Fairfax, Virginia, who cares about women and children, which is why, after undergoing a radical transformation and path to conviction, he pivoted from killing babies in the womb to saving them. Ever since he opened his own life-affirming practice more than 25 years ago, Bruchalski has saved the lives of hundreds of them. (snip) The real turning point in his decision to become a pro-life doctor, however, came after one of his colleagues (snip) gently but bluntly pointed out that he was treating unborn babies like tumors.

Retired three-star US Army Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky is a true American hero. The former fighting man earned a Silver Star for valor while serving his country in Iraq. His bravery on the battlefield is unparalleled, his dignity unmatched.
So why is Volesky today sitting at home, his reputation in tatters, his post-service career in limbo? (snip) Compare Volesky’s treatment to that of “G.I. Roe,” an active-duty medic who’s been burning up social media with an angry rant about the ditching of Roe. The woman, who posted a profane TikTok video under the name Sgt. Rahasenfratz, even suggested that she might find it difficult or impossible to fulfill her duties

A woman in Mississippi is sharing her faith in a touching way with people she encounters at work, WLOX reported Wednesday. (snip) Brenda Wilson told WLOX it is something God has commanded her to do for others, stating, “Because all things are possible through Jesus Christ.”
Wilson also said, “We have times that we have to go through, but he allows me 15 seconds with each one that I pray with. It’s like, when they leave and have tears in their eyes, I know God touched your heart.”

Comrades, the professional moonbats went to Washington today to advance the Democrat position on baby killing. UC Berkely Law School Professor, Khiara M. Bridges, claimed to be a victim of transphobic non-binary violence today while being questioned about women and abortion.
After hearing Professor Bridges speak about “people for the capacity for pregnancy” in her testimony, Senator Josh Hawley attempted to understand exactly who Ms. Bridges was talking about because the Senate Judiciary hearing was assembled to discuss the legal consequences of the recent Supreme Court Dobbs decision on abortion.

The Church of England refused to offer up a definition of a woman, arguing that recent developments required "additional care" when attempting to define the word. (snip) The comments sparked widespread criticism, with GB News personality Calvin Robinson arguing that offering a definition should not be difficult.
"The definition of ‘woman’ is not a complex moral problem," he said. "It is a scientific and biblical truth. How can you trust someone who cannot speak the truth about such basic facts?"

In a school discrimination case that could set a precedent for beleaguered parents across the country frustrated with Critical Race Theory-related issues in the classroom, a California woman is set to file suit against her child’s school district after her 7-year-old daughter was punished and humiliated for drawing a Black Lives Matter picture for her friends that also included the sentiment that “any lives” matter. (snip) Jane was forced to apologize to her friend for drawing the picture…but not privately. Jane had to deliver the apology on the playground in front of her fellow students and school staff. Vice President Kamala Harris would defeat Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a hypothetical 2024 presidential match-up, according to a new poll, but the race would be extremely close.
A poll from the Harvard University Center for American Political Studies (CAPS) has found that Harris enjoys 39 support to the Republican governor's 37 percent in a theoretical contest. (snip) The poll showed Trump defeating both Biden and Harris in hypothetical 2024 contests. Trump had 43 percent support to Biden's 40 percent, with 17 percent undecided.
In a theoretical race against Harris, Trump performed even better, garnering 45 percent to Harris' 39 percent with 16 percent of respondents undecided.

Fewer Americans than ever say that they believe that the Bible should be taken literally, while a record number of Americans now say they view the holy book as a compilation of "fables, legends, history and moral precepts recorded by man," according to a Gallup poll.
One in five Americans surveyed said the Bible is the "actual word of God, to be taken literally," about half off from the high point in 1984. The survey also shows that as fewer Americans are ranking religion as "very important," the number of those who believe the Bible came directly from God decreases.

A judge issued a temporary block to a university policy that censored three Christian students who had expressed opposition to same-sex marriage on religious grounds. (snip) According to the lawsuit, the students attended an LGBT event on campus with the intention of representing a biblical perspective on marriage and sexual ethics.
When a student asked them about their views, they offered their perspectives and gave the unnamed student a note expressing an interest in continuing the dialogue.
Instead of the conversation continuing, the three students were given “no-contact orders,” which barred them from further communication with the student that they had dialogued with.

Maryland's Governor Larry Hogan, a Republican, assessed Sunday that Donald Trump's "influence is diminishing," pointing to significant primary losses by GOP candidates endorsed by the former president.
Hogan has long been critical of Trump, with the GOP governor repeatedly clashing publicly with the ex-president throughout his White House tenure. Following the 2020 election and the pro-Trump January 6, 2021 attack against the U.S. Capitol, Hogan has condemned the former president's election lies and his efforts to subvert democracy.
