Washington—A federal jury on Tuesday found former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann not guilty of lying to the FBI — finding special counsel John Durham did not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict by a jury in heavily Democratic-leaning DC, came midway through the second day of deliberations following a two-week trial on a single count of making false statements to a federal agent. Durham’s prosecution team unsuccessfully sought to prove that Sussmann deliberately lied to then-FBI general counsel James Baker by claiming not to be acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign and an internet executive when the two met in 2016.

Maybe the problem was that they failed to credit FBI as an active participant in the subversion, if not the leader. After all, people like to brag about being in The Resistance.
FTA: "The plan, prosecutor Deborah Brittain Shaw said in her opening statement, was for internet researchers to find disparaging information about Trump and Russia, leak the findings to the press and then for Sussmann to lie to the FBI to spark an investigation into the since-discredited information—all in a bid to create an “October surprise” on behalf of the Clinton campaign. “We are here because the FBI is our institution that shouldn’t be used as a political tool for anyone—not Republicans, not Democrats, not anyone,” Shaw said."

Of course, he's a GUILTY Democrat, and in DC that doesn't count. Courts are pretty useless in these extreme leftist states and DC.

Gee. What a surprise!
Can Durham ask for a change of venue in future trials (I'm thinking Alabama or West Virginia would be good venuws)?

I'm not surprised. None of the investigations (Hunter, etc.) will ever go anywhere as long as the Dems are in power. Sad that we can't trust our jucicial system anymore.

People need to understand how deep and entangling the tentacles of the Deep State/Deep Swamp are. Former higher-ups in the FBI, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Rod Rosenstein, are unadulterated swine excrements.
It is, and will always be, going after DJT to destroy the man. The Swamp Creatures know that the word "accountability" is far-fetched and illusive. As stated before, there is no need to wait until the red wave arrives in November, 2022.

FTA: “Opposition research is not illegal,” Berkowitz said. “If it were, the jails of Washington, DC, would be teeming over.”
Yeah, that's correct. But getting the FBI and an Alpha-Bits box full of three and four letter government intelligence agencies should be illegal. Crooked Hillary and her henchmen (Sussman included) used their government ties to get the government to "investigate" their opponent. Heck, even Nixon didn't do that.

Real legit.

Judge was asked to recuse, failing that move the trial, from what I understand. Judge refused either and also eliminated evidence allowed.

Congressman Matt Gaetz predicted the purpose of this trial was to inoculate the FBI and CIA from accountability this and all future investigations related to Russia Ukraine election fraud you name it etc. Sussmann walked and so it appears the Congressman was correct, and the FBI walks too.

The trial was held at a DC court, presided by an Obie-appointed judge, and several Billary donors were seated on the jury. So Durham, what alternative outcome were you expecting? A two-year investigation and nothing. Absolutely nothing. No surprise that Sussmann skated.
Now watch the wicked witch come out of the woodwork and start yapping it up about the J6 investigation on Trump.

Someone, somewhere…will see that Mr. Sussman pays for his crimes. This kind of banana republic can’t go on much longer. The fuse is lit. The only question is when the bomb goes off. And no, I’m not advocating violence, merely pointing out the obvious.

The O. J. Simpson jury was just plain racially stupid. The Sussman jury was just plain Democrat pro-corruption. i've said many times that high ranking Democrats and their parasites are immune to the laws the rest of us must obey. A change of venue would have made a difference, I know that, you know that, Durham knows that, but asking for a change of venue by a Democrat judge would have been a non-starter and a crucifixion of Durham by the MSM.

#1, is correct. We cannot survive a corrupt judicial system. Clearly, the government intends to jail any opposition to the present regime regardless of their innocence. In that same vein, they intend to absolve any democrat operative of any wrongdoing even if they are guilty. We cannot survive this kind of corruption. We will either submit or fight, and I can’t see Americans willing to give up their country to this wretched administration’s tyranny.

SOMEBODY Lied...if Sussman did not, that leaves Baker as the liar. And he did so to his agency, to the Special council, to the Grand Jury, to THIS jury, the FISA courts, dispatched agents onto the investigation based upon a Lie...If Sussman is innocent, then Baker KNEW he was working for the Clinton Campaign.

BarryNo (#13) beat me to it. My thoughts Exactly. The FIX was IN from the Beginning.
The only good to come out of this den of Filth is some of the testimony that was made under oath, may be useful in a future trial..... IF anything else ever develops. As others have said, the 'Statute of Limitations' clock is close to running out.

You know, I'm starting to like the idea of "court packing."
Next time a Republican wins the White House, maybe we should do a "packing" of the DC circuit court. Maybe 50 or 90 or so Republican-leaning judges would do the trick.
And bus in jurors from all over the country.
