Russia has warned Finland and Sweden against joining Nato, arguing the move would not bring stability to Europe. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that "the alliance remains a tool geared towards confrontation". It comes as US defence officials said Moscow's invasion of Ukraine has been a "massive strategic blunder" which is likely to bring Nato enlargement. US officials expect the Nordic neighbours to bid for membership of the alliance, potentially as early as June. Washington is believed to support the move which would see the Western alliance grow to 32 members. US State Department officials said last week that

Yes, #1, NATO is geared to aggression, although claiming to be "defensive". Its expansion since the collapse of the Soviet Union is a classic confrontation that has brought the world to this place. The alliance has been, since its formation, anti-communist, which has since 1992 morphed into anti-Russia. Former Warsaw Pact nations are on the border, with historical grudges against Russia, and now even former Soviet Republics and historical "neutrals" are trying to get in on the act of "defense", which gives the appearance of piling on. If one presumes Russia has exposed its weakness in Ukraine, NATO expansion becomes even more threatening. Russians don't take well to losing. Perhaps, as a result, Putin is deposed...then what? "Winning" in Ukraine can have some devastating "unintended" consequences. What's the proper American response if tactical nukes are used in desperation? Which Euros will be at the front taking casualties with the US? And what exactly would the US fight for that's in its vital national interest? (Please don't say "democracy." That's a Ukrainian cause, not ours.)

Fight for what? If you ask the Dims the US is guilty of worse than the Russians. The nyt fully supported stalin, still proudly displaying the award they received for doing so. The Dims (or whatever their global equivalent) have undoubtedly taken over nato like they have many many US institutions. What good do they plan? Preserve democracy? Like they have here (eg, censorship and mailin ballots)? I supported the iraq war only to see the dims destroy whatever good that might have come from it. Our institutions have destroyed their credibility. Which itself may be part of the Dim plan.

It there's no one to fight against, the rationale for a defensive organization disappears. Therefore, a bogey man must be created. And once created Washington has to employ various gambits to cause confrontation. Poking the bear ensures the next stage of the Brzezinski Doctrine is implemented (which basically is, in the phrase from the movie Highlander, "There can be only one."). Afterall are the Europeans too dense to see they too have been destroyed and are now vassals the US?

There is no way Russia will attack Finland and/or Sweden with a conventional force right now. Their army is paper thin and struggling in the Ukraine. A two-front war would be catastrophic for Europe and Russia. I'd love to see NATO expand not only to thwart Russia, but China would have second thoughts too. The CCP army is a paper tiger too because of their one-child policy from years ago. Don't forget India had them running back to their border not too long ago.

NATO, by the definition of its founding, should have disbanded when the Soviet Union fell. However, by that time it was too important to the New World Order - Great Reset crowd. It was already part of their orbit, and its purpose was to keep the Cold War going in order to drain American coffers. (Remember when President Trump forced NATO countries to pony-up their promised payments, and they howled?) President Putin is a Russia First leader. It is a mistake to assume he is like the old Soviets, or define him only as an old KGB man. He is much more complex than that, and his goal is a prosperous Russia with a rightful place on the world stage. The Great Reset crowd, our common enemy, is as threatened by Putin as they were by Trump. Putin is fighting the "rainbow" of "progressive" causes from finding a footing among the Russian people. NATO, and the "west" in general, have been baiting the bear and now accuse the bear of aggression. Its the same Alinsky's Rule Book that has ruined America that is now targeting Russia and Putin is fighting it. Putin hates the Marxists that ruined his country, and those same Marxists hate him for trying to make Russia great again.

SEATTLE – Seattle’s Link Light Rail is a freeloader’s paradise. There are no turnstiles, so passengers are supposed to either buy a ticket or tap their pre-paid card. But so few riders are paying, fares are currently covering just 5% of the system’s operating costs, a fraction of the 40% mark Sound Transit set as a requirement. At a recent Sound Transit Board meeting, the outgoing CEO summed up the situation. "Our fare collection system relies overwhelmingly on an honor system," Peter Rogoff said, "and our increasingly acute problem is that our riders aren’t honoring the system." By one measurement

A major Saudi government-owned broadcaster aired a sketch mocking President Joe Biden as US-Saudi relations plunge to a new low. In the comedy sketch on MBC's "Studio 22" show, which aired Monday, Biden's character appeared sleepy and forgetful, wandering offstage before being tugged back by a likeness of Vice President Kamala Harris. Biden is then seen confusing Spain and Africa, forgetting Russian President Vladimir Putin's name, and mistakenly calling Harris his "first lady." The sketch then ends with the Harris character dragging the sleeping Biden character off stage. (Snip) The Saudi government owns a majority stake in MBC and it

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland received its first measurable April snowfall in recorded history on Monday as a spring storm brought rare late-season snow elsewhere and large amounts in the Cascades. Schools across the region were closed and some areas about an hour west of Portland received up to several inches of snow.
