In the final days before what appeared to be a neck-and-neck 1980 election, Republican Ronald Reagan landed a haymaker against President Carter by asking a simple question: "Are you better off today than you were four years ago?" Americans were not, and Reagan ended up beating the incumbent Democrat in a drubbing — carrying forty-four states, taking 489 electoral votes (snip) As we near what looks like his return to battle for the 2024 election, though, a potent six-word slogan reminiscent of Reagan's rhetorical thwack is inescapable: Were you better off with Trump?

I was certainly better off before the election was stolen! Now I will likely have to sell my forever house and move to a red state. However, I would likely be better off with anyone other than the barely walking cadaver squatting in the White House!

In most respects I am treading water. In terms of freedom, buying power, and safety I am far less better off. I am currently restocking the food stash, as well as ammunition and tools, repair parts and fuel where possible. Most of that I started during the Obama years so I have a head start.

I always like Mr. Shark’s columns —thoughtful and engaging. I didn’t need to read this one to give an answer, but I’m glad I did.
And my answer to his question is a line from the article: “res ipsa loquitur.”

The last 22 years, in particular the last 14 years have forced this old man to think harder about my faith , family and our nation . The death of Rush and the loss of President Trumps leadership all at once was a bone crusher. But the last 14 MONTHS have steeled my resolve . The night mare will end. This is America and we will win.

The answer is a resounding YES ! Biden is proving to be a far worse president than Jimmy Carter. I hope the voters will remember the Democrat and MSM campaign of slandering Trump while suppressing news of Biden bad behavior that rigged the election to get Biden elected.

The sad thing is, I agree with every conclusion about the election being stolen, Trump's record of success, and the obvious answer of whether we were better off with Trump; YET, I have doubts as to whether Trump can win.
As Shurk says, ALL the winds were blowing in Trump's favor. Biden and Harris, at election time, were two of the biggest losers to run for office and have only gotten worse, dragging the Country down the drain with them in just a bit more than a year.
However, all the forces that successfully broke the 2020 election are still in place. They have largely gotten away with their actions. Only now, 6 years later, are Hillary Clintoon and the DNC being held responsible for the 2016 Russian hoax that undermined Trump and forced him to fight two attempts at impeachment. Have we considered that the reason that Trump was so aggressive, something many disliked, is because he was forced to fight against the lying and corrupt forces propping up the Clintoons. The Clintoons have gotten away with NUMEROUS illegal activities that should have had BOTH of them in jail for the rest of their life. News flash: They are still free to walk around because the same forces that stole the 2020 election have protected them and are still doing so. If anything, they have become bolder with their success, and more devious.
Worse, those forces have become more desperate because. in their boldness, they have not covered their trail as well and are being exposed. We have an idea WHO the actors were in the 2020 election. They are scared. WHAT would Trump and a transcendent Republican party do to fix the CIA and FBI? Would players like Pencil-necked Shifty and his ilk be censured and kicked out of chairmanship roles or bounced off committees that were used to foist impeachments on the Country? What laws would be passed to restrict the social media companies? What house cleaning activities would be carried out against the Deep State bureaucrats? Media is sheltered by the first amendment but they have already exposed themselves and are weaker. "Fake news" has been found to be an accurate label for most of the news organizations. The money groups that stand behind media are starting to reel them in, a la CNN. What voting protections might be established in the various states?
What will these desperate people do? Almost anything. Might they be successful again? Can the American People be conned again?
Of course, Trump would roll back and overturn the Leftist actions Biden and dems took. But dems don't really care about that, they are only paths to power and control. But the Country will care, YUGELY!

Trump WILL win in 2024 - just as he did in '16 and '20. In 2020 he lost to the combination of the Democrats and the Judiciary. (yes, I am aware of the role of the Media). The question in 2024 will be whether we can prevent the corrupt judges (and Justices) from (mis)using our own laws, our own Constitution against us. We are forewarned but are we forearmed?

Retirees on fixed incomes are taking a beating as the value of a dollar and its value gets eaten away by inflation and printing of money since nobody will loan us money to pay for profligate spending.
Our parents and grandparents who lived during the Great Depression and World War II are all but gone now, and the current demographics of the Country are being drastically changed for the WORSE with this invasion of ILLEGAL ALIENS.
Millions of persons are against this by you would never know because the media and corporations are all about CREATING and spinning what THEY want to talk about in order to break our nation using the Cloward-Piven strategy of overloading the system until it collapses.
Corporations like Black Rock are attempting to create business practices using ESG scores to ruin those who stand against this, and with the electoral coup de tat of massive cheating and the judiciary REFUSING to hear evidence to stop cases from EVEN BEING HEARD, we are in a very precarious situation.
Many of those in the last election voted for TRUMP but then again, many voted AGAINST him rather than think about the consequences of electing a phantom candidate who had to be hidden away due to the HYSTERIA created by a manufactured covid-1984 crisis
The Republican Party at the national level only seems interested in the Almighty American dollar and they are compromised, weak, and attempt to remove or discredit those who stand against their empire.
The Primary system of voting favors the RINOs and those who attempt to unseat most of them want to take their place on the gravy train trying to convince the public that elected officials are not "true conservatives" creating their own false media and marketing stories....
The "racism" and wokeness being promoted to stop any reasoned discussion of issues is about to upend the Supreme Court and even TRUMP's most recent nominees do not appear to be anchored to the Constitution.
This country has been careening off a cliff ever since NoBama was elected against McPain and re-elected via racism charges of Trayvon Martin and a weak, milquetoast Mittens Romney and his sidekick Paul Ryano.
The Elites in both parties are compromised and corrupt as they come-- take a look at Peter Schwietzer's "Secret Empires" and "Red Handed"and you will see for yourself just how screwed we are. Add in the public but media "invisible Hunter Macbook" and you will see how great the incestuous the relationship of the media to the demonrat socialist marxist young pups of their side is to keep that cadaver in at all costs.

I have only one quibble with the article - I do not believe that 0bama won the 2012 election, even though Romney/Ryan were duds in retrospect. The economy was a mess in 2012 and most people vote their wallets. He should not have won. Obama stole that election, just like he stole the 2020 election for TaliBiden.

Yes, we are on a fixed incomes with my small retirement our money doesn't go as far with the rise in gasoline, food and utilities prices. Fraud Biden hates America or somebody pulling his strings does maybe Obama. I was a young married working family man in the Carter era this is worse with much more dangerous times with rampant crime. We know in a short time with Trump as President many of our woes could be fixed in two months or less if he were at the helm of the country even a democrat can't deny that. FJB

A silly question, we were all better off with President Trump. The Elite know this and what is worrisome and frightening is what they will do to remain in power. The GOP leadership and the Democrats along with Global leaders will do everything in their power to destroy America's Middle Class and usher in a "New World Order". The American people are merely cannon fodder and gristmill to them.

You're joking. This country is forever grateful to the mainstream media for delivering us, Joe Biden. Finally, we have great leadership.
Better off - No more tweets. Now we deal with World War III, the out-of-control inflation, paying unfriendly nations for oil, a crime rate that is out of control, gas prices out of control, our wide-open borders, health-care that’s no longer health-care, drug addiction with 100,000s dying from Chinese drugs. Thank you, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, MSNBC, CNN, NY Times, Washington Post, on and on.
And thank my fellow Democrat …we got the best now.
Kamala is doing a great job but Joe should have selected Maxine Walter for Vice President. And Joe should appoint Rep Hank "Guam is gonna tip over" Johnson as Secretary of State ASAP.

Let me count the ways! Under President Trump, my retirement money went farther so I was better off financially. I was better off spiritually because the rare blessing of good leadership was heaven-sent and I was openly thankful. Until the lab-created virus swam ashore, I was physically better off. I began to detest my doctor of 40 years when he suggested I take the Fauci Ouchi. I am still angry at my church for shutting our doors at the request of a Democrat mayor. Only my financial advisor can give me any hope at all about my retirement improving. Now I am stockpile food and supplies because FJB has turned me into one of those Preppers! I love Donald, and I miss lovely Melania and their hunky son.

Yes, far better off. And it was OBVIOUS that retaining the best president of my lifetime was the right choice.
Now, after just a year of this horror show, it is FAR worse than I even imagined. The Dems are a total disaster, across the board. They have wrecked and are continuing to wreck everything.

I remember that drubbing very well. I also remember how the media had to have known, but they lied through their capped teeth that it was going to be a nail biting, neck and neck election night. What they didn't expect was that Carter would take a 49 state spanking, but he also conceded at 6pm on the West coast. That cost Cali voters the chance to vote against or for that Prop 13 tax measure. Howard Jarvis was ecstatic that it passed, all thanks to Carter conceding two hours before the polls closed.
I know that people don't think about this, but I suspect that given all the Obama minions in the WH right now, this Residency has been nothing more than Obama's third term. Hence the name JoeBama. With Biden's dementia, I seriously doubt he is behind much of this stuff, he just signs or says what his handlers tell him to do.

H-m-m ... let me think.
Lower food prices, cheap $2 gasoline, low mortgage rates, best unemployment numbers in 40 years for any minority and women, winding down Afghanistan with dignity, no invasions, calmed down North Korea, border ok but getting better, 50% gain in my IRA, reasonable house prices, stock market up overall on all indices, etc. Yup. Much better off under Trump.
With regards to stealing 2022 and then 2024: Fore warned is fore armed! Let's see if the Republicans wake up enough to stop the steal as they are not the last bit concerned about 2020. If the Demo-rats can steal 2022 and retain their majorities in the House and senate then we are doomed and it makes no difference who on our side runs in 2024.

Donald Trump was the best president of my lifetime. I became wealthy and earned more trough my 401k than my salary. There was no inflation and Americans on Welfare, FoodStamps and Illegal Aliens decreased. Gasoline was cheap and young families owned homes and were happy. No wars were started, unlike now as we march into WW III with Russia on behalf of the Luciferian NATO NWO. No Paris Agreement Global Warming hoax and energy dominance with oil at $40 a barrel. We had a strong Dollar and our enemies feared US. And I liked the tweets. Trump was more than than we deserve. Thank you for MAGA.
