The Six Best Conservative Governors In America

Original Article

In this installment of their weekly Sunday Six conversation, PF Whalen and Parker Beauregard of The Blue State Conservative discuss six GOP governors who are leading the way in the raging battle against leftism. #6: Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin PF: Glenn Youngkin gained national attention last fall during his gubernatorial campaign against Democrat Terry McAuliffe. In a state that Joe Biden won by double-digits in 2020, McAuliffe was thought to be a shoe-in on Election Day. Virginia is a solid blue state and Youngkin needed a bold strategy if he was to achieve the unthinkable and take control in Richmond; and that’s exactly what he did.

Not only did those Governors set a great example for other Republican Governors, they also show the Residents of those States how to take back their Country! The Voters in those States backed their Governors and came out in Droves on Election Day. They made a Statement that THEY are Back! They no longer are cowering in a corner and following Biden and Fauci's mandates. They are back to Common Sense for their Family and their State! My hope is others follow and turn this country around at the Mid Terms!

Granny Ivey wasn’t mentioned. No surprise there. Not sure what she does, or who advises her. And her primary challengers are hopeless. They make it a point to talk about God (while holding a Bible), Trump, and Biden (in no particular order) and promise to “fight for me” and “uphold …….” — whatever they think we want to hear. Makes me slap nuts. Not a leader to be found. Just people who can hire slick ad agencies who know the current buzzwords and platitudes.

I hear many complaints that Gov Abbott isn't doing enough to stop illegals from entering Texas. Odd thing is those complainers want Abbott to break laws because bidet doesn't enforce them.

Not in the media spotlight like Desantis or Abbott, but here in Mississippi, governor Tate Reeves continues to impress me, and I'm pretty darn conservative.

Judicial confirmation hearings are rarely illuminating. Since the introduction of television cameras, they mostly serve as a way for senators to say what they want their constituents to hear and for judicial nominees to say as little as possible. Nothing is learned, at least not on purpose. But occasionally, we learn something by accident. At Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee asked a seemingly innocuous question: “Can you provide a definition of the word ‘woman’?”

It is painfully obvious, as was predictable, that Joe Biden’s presidency is a dumpster fire. As demonstrated by the party’s destructive callousness towards children, the elderly, and the poor during their Covid lockdown frenzy, Democrats care about none of these real-world results of their policies. But they do care about polling, and Joe Biden’s is abysmal. According to even heavily politicized polls, Biden is at least performing as badly as Donald Trump. Biden is between the third- and fifth-most ratings-underwater president ever in American history at this point in his first term.

This is how it’s done, folks. The conservative media company The Daily Wire, which was founded by Jeremy Boreing and Ben Shapiro, isn’t just lamenting Cancel Culture and talking about how problematic it is, they’re putting themselves in direct competition with it. And today’s kick-off of a new product offering should bring smiles to the faces of conservatives everywhere. For some background, last year the company Harry’s Razors pulled their ads from all Daily Wire programming. Why? Because one of the company’s top podcasters, Michael Knowles, had the audacity to assert on one of his shows that men are men and women are women.

House Democrats prosecuting political dissidents in the form of the Select Committee on Jan. 6 admitted this week the show trial investigation is all about the November midterms. On Friday, The Washington Post chronicled the committee’s next steps in a feature headlined “Jan. 6 committee faces a thorny challenge: Persuading the public to care” as Americans lose enthusiasm for severe retribution against those involved with a constitutionally protected rally 14 months ago, who are the true target of the committee’s work as opposed to perpetrators of the Capitol riot.

A recent court filing by the January 6 special select committee is giving us our first indication that Donald Trump and his lawyer may be guilty of criminal behavior. We know this is serious because it’s being reported by the New York Times – America’s paper of record. You know, those bastions of accuracy that received a Pulitzer Prize for 3 years of false reporting about the Russian collusion conspiracy. The Times is even reporting that the evidence will likely result in a criminal referral. The paper was probably tipped off by one of their reliable sources – like ahem … Adam Schiff.

Two years ago this week, the United States shut down. Churches, schools and businesses went dark. Weddings, funerals, and birthdays went silent. City streets stood empty, with an eeriness closer resembling occupied Paris than the bustling hubs they’d been just days before. Two years later, as the last of the mask mandates for school children falter and crack, it’s tempting to believe our nightmare is finally over. Just as the disease is going to haunt us a long while, however, so too will the effects of how we tried to fight it.

There’s a dawning realization among Democrats that the constant infighting between progressives and moderates isn’t doing them any favors with voters. In an effort to forge some kind of unity, Dems spent the end of the week at a retreat in Philadelphia trying to come up with an approach that both sides could agree on. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, chair of the DCCC, said the key was for Democrats to talk like real people and not “sound like a jerk.” That was a not-so-veiled request for progressives to stow their far left agenda between now and November.

CNN continues to undergo massive changes coinciding with AT&T’s corporate handoff to new owner Discovery and the ouster of former company president Jeff Zucker. Zucker left, Chris Cuomo left, and sundry employees did the same as disgusting allegations of pedophilia came to light. Ratings have been in a freefall ever since Brandon was inaugurated and over-the-top, fake news about Donald Trump couldn’t be manufactured for its unthinking viewership anymore. Covid panic porn has likewise lost its luster. So, in a battle for survival, the “news” network’s owners are realizing that simply making up hysteria after hysteria might not be a viable long-term plan.

Disgraced grandma-killer, alleged sexual harasser, and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo cropped up on Sunday to blame “cancel culture” for his sins catching up to him, demanding a chance to “tell my truth.” Cuomo started the speech with a self-pitying remark that “I’ve gone through a difficult period,” complaining that “the press roasted me” and “my colleagues were ridiculed, my brother was fired.” Later in the address, he blamed “the political sharks in Albany” who “smelled blood and exploited the situation for their own political purpose.” He had the audacity to construe himself as the victim, whining “Twitter and newspaper headlines have replaced a judge and a jury.”

On Friday, the special counsel filed a response that demolished Sussmann’s legal arguments, highlighted several significant facts related to the pending charge, and revealed the ridiculousness of the defense’s attempt to hide behind the First Amendment. Here are five key takeaways from Durham’s response.

Chatter concerning the possible removal of President Joe Biden, 79, from the White House erupted online this weekend after the president on multiple occasions seemed to blurt out escalation talk regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, all in contrast with White House messaging. The Daily Wire highlighted that Biden’s seemingly off-the-cuff remarks had to quickly be addressed and walked-back by the administration. In one instance, Biden told a group of American troops in Poland that they were going to see the “backbone” and “guts” of the Ukrainian people “when you’re there,” suggesting the U.S. was putting boots on the ground in Ukraine, in contrast with White House statements and talking points.

Is the Constitution inherently racist? Brandon Hasbrouck says yes. In Boston University Law Review article “The Antiracist Constitution,” the Washington and Lee University professor alleges our nation’s founding document “serves white supremacy.” He aids his argument with George Floyd’s death, the Fugitive Slave Act, and the fact that Thomas Jefferson owned slaves. The professor points out a peculiarity: It is June 28, 1776. The Continental Congress orders that Thomas Jefferson’s draft of the Declaration of Independence “lie on the table.” … Jefferson, who enslaves hundreds of people, nonetheless includes an assertion that “all men are created equal.” Moving forward to fugitive slaves: It is September 18, 1850. Congress passes the Fugitive Slave Act…

Republicans are effectively branding the issue as widely Democrat-caused due to calls to abolish police and rhetoric against law enforcement in general. The officials tell Axios that Biden's budget proposal would require $30 billion in new spending over the next decade to expand law enforcement and increase crime prevention.

Most members of the House select committee investigating January 6 -- including chair Bennie Thompson and vice chair Liz Cheney -- believe the panel should interview her, CNN reported earlier Monday. The committee has had ongoing discussions about Ginni Thomas, and CNN reported last week that it has in its possession 29 text messages that show her pleading with then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to continue the fight to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
