Solar Plant Failures

Government planning and subsidies will make many nations the world’s green energy powers, create millions of jobs, and supercharge the economy—or so we’ve heard. Results with solar make one wonder about this statement. In recent times a number of large scale solar plants have failed world-wide and these aren’t the first failures of heavily taxpayer funded solar plants. Dozens of solar focused companies around the globe have disappeared through bankruptcy, insolvency, or just shutting their doors since 2009 when prices of solar panels plunged as competition from China increased. Solar can be useful for a small cabin in a remote area in a climate with abundant sunshine for small loads. Solar is hopelessly limited, ridiculously expensive and unreliable for large scale use.

It should be obvious to all but the demented that if solar power was such a good idea the government wouldn’t have to subsidize it-solar power would thrive in the open market with no government help. Same with EVs. It’s all unscientific crap that the government is trying to force down our throat despite all the true science against it.

If only the sun was available 24/7 then these plants would have a chance but so far no one has figured out how to make the sun shine on a the surface on the earth all the time. Maybe if they increase the price of a Kw/hr enough and outlaw all other sources of energy it will make sense.

Leftist invest in Green Energy companies,(or their family does). Leftist then vote to subsidize that industry. The Green Industries show a profit, thereby enriching the politician. And Green Industries donate to the reelection campaign of the same leftist politician. Failures, yes, but some people are succeeding.

This reminds me of all the millions of dollars Obama gave green energy companies, who subsequently went bankrupt.

The press has set the bar so low for Joe Biden that when he makes a public appearance, it is considered a triumph if he manages to stay upright. No one expects anything he says to be coherent, and blatant disregard of the facts is overlooked. But it isn’t only Slow Joe: the Democrats’ policies have run head-on into reality, and none of their leaders can comment publicly without telling whoppers. Like Nancy Pelosi, who assures us in this clip–deemed notable by The Hill, generally a Democratic Party mouthpiece–that government spending reduces the national debt and doesn’t contribute to inflation: [Tweet] This is a new contribution to economic theory

In response to plunging polls, Joe Biden wants to roll back the public health security state but keep his emergency powers. The key figure in that quest is White House advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, profiled at length in The Real Anthony Fauci, by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Fauci earned a medical degree in 1966 but in 1968 hired on with the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Fauci’s bio showed no advanced degrees in molecular biology or biochemistry, but in 1984 he became head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). According to Nobel laureate Kary Mullis, inventor of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), Fauci did not understand electron microscopy,

Ukrainian flags are flying on buildings across the country and Russian vodka is being poured into drains. Concerts are being canceled and books are flying off shelves over a cause that the vast majority of Americans would not have cared about and did not even know existed last year. In a matter of weeks everyone has come around to having a passionate opinion on the subject. And when the war in Ukraine has come and gone, some other cause will arrive to fill that void, and the outrage, blue and yellow flag waving, and all the rest of it will be gone with the vodka. Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was perfectly timed

Remember when Kamala Harris tried to explain the Russia/Ukraine conflict in layman’s terms? “Ukraine is a country in Europe,” she said. “It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine, so basically, that’s wrong.” It was hard to wrap our heads around why she gave such an airheaded explanation. I speculated that Kamala, despite being the vice president, doesn’t have the slightest idea why Russia invaded Ukraine. Could I have been wrong? Perhaps; maybe she just assumed that her audience was a bunch of four-year-olds. But now the jig is up.

But a great work of art can also interpret the context in which it is interpreted. Recently there appeared in the New York Times a reading of a poem by Auden, “Musee des Beaux Arts,” one of the most beautiful poems in English. The poem’s text in full reads as follows: "About suffering they were never wrong, The old Masters: how well they understood Its human position: how it takes place While someone else is eating or opening a window

The Walt Disney Co.’s CEO Bob Chapek has taken a knee before his LGBTQ employees, issuing a humiliating apology after some of them mutinied over the company’s refusal to condemn Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill, which would forbid the teaching of sexuality and transgender ideology to students in kindergarten through third grade. In his groveling mea culpa, Chapek said he needed to be a “stronger ally” to the company’s gay and transgender employees. He also falsely referred to the legislation as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill — a smear created by Democrats and dutifully propagated by the news media — claiming it poses a “challenge to basic human rights.”

But then there are those which really don't make any sense. For whatever reason, USA Today's Ana Faguy thought it necessary to fact-check an article from the Babylon Bee, which most people know is a satire site. The claim in question was a social media post from March 7 that "Biden Sells Alaska Back To Russia So We Can Start Drilling For Oil There Again." Faguy is blaming the Facebook account of "Being Libertarian," which mostly shares political articles and amusing memes.

Most people will need to get a fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose to be protected from the virus, the head of Pfizer said on Sunday. “It is necessary for most” people, CEO Albert Bourla said during an interview on CBS’s “Face The Nation” when asked if Americans can expect to get annual COVID booster shots every fall. The regimen of two initial doses plus a booster is not able to protect against variants and wanes too quickly in strength, Bourla conceded—making additional shots inevitable. “Right now, the protection that you’re getting from the third [shot], it is good enough—actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths—it’s not that good
