What is it about the former congressman, former losing candidate for Senator, and former presidential candidate who dropped out of the race before the first primary that excites Democrats?
Sure, he’s handsome, in a rough-hewn sort of way. He speaks fairly well. And he’s got a nice, toothy smile.
Remind you of anyone?
If you guessed “John F. Kennedy,” you win a cookie. In their never-ending quest to find “the next JFK,” Democrats have tapped O’Rourke as the successor to the playboy Massachusetts senator who wowed Americans in the early 1960s.
But that’s a tough act to follow. Where Kennedy was urbane, sophisticated, and witty, O’Rourke is an angry former folk singer

The press has set the bar so low for Joe Biden that when he makes a public appearance, it is considered a triumph if he manages to stay upright. No one expects anything he says to be coherent, and blatant disregard of the facts is overlooked. But it isn’t only Slow Joe: the Democrats’ policies have run head-on into reality, and none of their leaders can comment publicly without telling whoppers.
Like Nancy Pelosi, who assures us in this clip–deemed notable by The Hill, generally a Democratic Party mouthpiece–that government spending reduces the national debt and doesn’t contribute to inflation: [Tweet] This is a new contribution to economic theory

In response to plunging polls, Joe Biden wants to roll back the public health security state but keep his emergency powers. The key figure in that quest is White House advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, profiled at length in The Real Anthony Fauci, by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Fauci earned a medical degree in 1966 but in 1968 hired on with the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Fauci’s bio showed no advanced degrees in molecular biology or biochemistry, but in 1984 he became head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
According to Nobel laureate Kary Mullis, inventor of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), Fauci did not understand electron microscopy,

Ukrainian flags are flying on buildings across the country and Russian vodka is being poured into drains. Concerts are being canceled and books are flying off shelves over a cause that the vast majority of Americans would not have cared about and did not even know existed last year.
In a matter of weeks everyone has come around to having a passionate opinion on the subject.
And when the war in Ukraine has come and gone, some other cause will arrive to fill that void, and the outrage, blue and yellow flag waving, and all the rest of it will be gone with the vodka.
Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was perfectly timed

Remember when Kamala Harris tried to explain the Russia/Ukraine conflict in layman’s terms?
“Ukraine is a country in Europe,” she said. “It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine, so basically, that’s wrong.”
It was hard to wrap our heads around why she gave such an airheaded explanation. I speculated that Kamala, despite being the vice president, doesn’t have the slightest idea why Russia invaded Ukraine. Could I have been wrong? Perhaps; maybe she just assumed that her audience was a bunch of four-year-olds.
But now the jig is up.

“A great book reads you,” W. H. Auden once wrote, meaning that you grasp the depths of a profound work of literary art the more you deepen your own sense of life. But a great work of art can also interpret the context in which it is interpreted.
Recently there appeared in the New York Times a reading of a poem by Auden, “Musee des Beaux Arts,” one of the most beautiful poems in English. The poem’s text in full reads as follows: "About suffering they were never wrong,
The old Masters: how well they understood
Its human position: how it takes place
While someone else is eating or opening a window

Government planning and subsidies will make many nations the world’s green energy powers, create millions of jobs, and supercharge the economy—or so we’ve heard. Results with solar make one wonder about this statement. In recent times a number of large scale solar plants have failed world-wide and these aren’t the first failures of heavily taxpayer funded solar plants.
Dozens of solar focused companies around the globe have disappeared through bankruptcy, insolvency, or just shutting their doors since 2009 when prices of solar panels plunged as competition from China increased. United States
Recently Crescent Dunes Solar Energy plant operators filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. After years of accusations of mismanagement and

A significant winter storm is expected to impact a large portion of eastern U.S. regions over the weekend, bringing a variety of weather threats to those areas that include heavy snowfall and severe thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said in a statement the storm system will produce weather threats over parts of the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys and the interior eastern U.S.—going as far south as Georgia—starting on Friday and continuing through Saturday night.
"Heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms [are expected] to impact the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic this weekend," the service said in the latest update, noting that the greatest snow accumulation is expected across portions of the Northeast, where totals

The Walt Disney Co.’s CEO Bob Chapek has taken a knee before his LGBTQ employees, issuing a humiliating apology after some of them mutinied over the company’s refusal to condemn Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill, which would forbid the teaching of sexuality and transgender ideology to students in kindergarten through third grade.
In his groveling mea culpa, Chapek said he needed to be a “stronger ally” to the company’s gay and transgender employees. He also falsely referred to the legislation as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill — a smear created by Democrats and dutifully propagated by the news media — claiming it poses a “challenge to basic human rights.”

Fact-checks often strikeout. Sometimes they appear to be downright malicious, as was the case with the PolitiFact fact-check on Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), as I highlighted on Sunday. But then there are those which really don't make any sense. For whatever reason, USA Today's Ana Faguy thought it necessary to fact-check an article from the Babylon Bee, which most people know is a satire site. The claim in question was a social media post from March 7 that "Biden Sells Alaska Back To Russia So We Can Start Drilling For Oil There Again."
Faguy is blaming the Facebook account of "Being Libertarian," which mostly shares political articles and amusing memes.

INDIANTOWN, Fla. -- Detectives are searching inside the Hungryland Preserve in Florida after human remains were found.
The Martin County Crime Scene Detectives searched an area inside the preserve Thursday after the remains were found near a canal filled with alligators on Wednesday.
"She was out here doing her job and she saw what she thought was an alligator in the water, in this body of water to my right, with what looked like to her to be a human arm," said Martin County Sheriff William Snyder. The sheriff said the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission then searched the area and found what the alligator was holding,

I don’t know why I bother arguing with libdolts on Facebook. These are people who struggle to fill their tanks like the rest of us. Meat is so expensive that they are feeding their kids Alpo, yet they won’t say the obvious: Biden did this on purpose. According to Soviet defector Yuri Besmenov, your bolshie sister-in-law can’t help herself. She has been successfully brainwashed and “demoralized.” She won’t accept reality. At best, she’ll post a tinfoil-hat meme in your honor and give herself a big, fat “LOLZ!!”
"Exposure to true information does not matter anymore. A person who was demoralized is unable to assess true information.
