How were your elementary school teachers? If any were Satanists, you were ahead of your time.
Last month, REAL News Michigan reported that a Fort Wayne, Indiana public school instructor owned a local Satanic temple.
Per the outlet:
According to Indiana Secretary of State records, Jessica Klikas is the owner of The Satanic Temple Indiana, also known as Porta Infernum (Latin for Gate of Hell) LLC. Klikas is currently a fourth grade teacher at Haverhill Elementary School, according to a staff directory for the Southwest Allen County Schools’ district website.

Nearly every Senate Democrat voted in favor of legislation Monday which would have radically expanded abortion rights beyond even the Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade.
The Women’s Health Protection Act would have forced every state to allow abortions for any reason until at least the point of viability, generally defined at around six months into a pregnancy, and banned most restrictions on abortion up to the point of birth.
Every Republican voted against the bill, and every Democrat except Sen. Joe Manchin voted in favor, NBC News reported.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has taken center stage in regard to world events over the last week. Naturally, that means a lot of really terrible takes from way-too online individuals have gone forth. RedState covered a few of these recently (see here and here). But while it’s easy to dunk on blue-check Twitter users who obviously don’t know anything, Alexander Vindman’s nonsense stands in a category of its own.

If you’re stressed over the state of masculinity, here’s good news: A man-savvy organization is on the case.
“A Call to Men” markets itself as preparing “the next generation of manhood.” In order to fix the future, the group is hosting an art project for high schoolers and college students.
Introducing the “2022 Dismantle Patriarchy” contest.
An official webpage describes the endeavor thusly:
The Dismantle Patriarchy Contest invites young people to use visual art, music, essay, story, poetry, video or photography to envision how they might change the larger societal system of patriarchy and create an accepting society.

One of the questions asked over and over about Putin’s callous invasion of an inoffensive neighbor, an invasion that is mysteriously rationalized by an amazing number of people on the right who were apoplectic over Trudeau’s brutality with the Freedom Convoy, is what was his objective. It’s obvious that he was torqued about Ukraine flirting with EU and NATO membership, but if he wanted regime change, a few million dollars, an AstroTurfed mob, and a GRU or Spetsznaz hit squad could have accomplished that (look at how easily Putin installed his previous stooge, Yanukovych) with much less melodrama and loss of life.

One of the oddest commentaries about the Russian invasion of Ukraine is the boilerplate reaction that “borders can’t change in modern Europe” or “this does not happen in the 21st century.”
But why in the world should the 21st century be exempt from the pathologies of the past 20 centuries? Are we smarter than the Romans? More innovative than Florentines? Do we have more savvy leaders than Lincoln or Churchill? Are they more mellifluous than Demosthenes? Does anyone now remember that some 130,000 were slaughtered just 30 years ago in the former Yugoslavia, as NATO planes bombed Belgrade and nuclear America and Russia almost squared off?

“When statesmen forsake their own private conscience for the sake of their public duties, they lead their country by a short route to chaos.” —Robert Bolt, “A Man for All Seasons." Sir Thomas More’s pronouncement above correctly states the danger to a nation when our leaders don’t follow their conscience, but it is silent on the danger when men of conscience such as More are themselves silenced. A statesman died last week who did not sacrifice his conscience, and paid a price for it.

Bear Woznick is a World Champion tandem surfer, a ninja black belt, a licensed pilot, a scuba diver, a skydiver, and a member of the Catholic Sports Faith International Hall of Fame. He has ridden a bicycle from San Diego to Jacksonville, Florida. He has run with the bulls in Pamplona and dealt with another type of bull in Hollywood, appearing on Hawaii 5-0 and Clean Break. He is, in other words, not exactly the type of man that is in vogue today in our deeply confused and wrongheaded culture.

Here’s an interesting Twitter thread from someone named Riho Terras, a member of the European Parliament, posted a few hours ago. Obviously we’re not in any position to vouch for the accuracy of this thread (and some of it seems dubious), but pass it along in the interest of broad coverage:
THREAD 1/7 Intel from a Ukrainian officer about a meeting in Putin’s lair in Urals. Oligarchs convened there so no one would flee. Putin is furious, he thought that the whole war would be easy and everything would be done in 1-4 days.

The most recent development in the ongoing debate over transgender wokeism comes to us from Texas and it may light a fire that’s been coming for a long time. Governor Greg Abbott has directed various state agencies to promptly investigate instances of “transitional” medical procedures being performed on children under the state’s child abuse laws and prosecute those found to be engaged in such practices. Of course, when the Boston Globe covered this story, they chose to describe such procedures as “gender-affirming care.”

Rosie and I met close to 15 years ago. She was introduced to one of my friends and remained on the periphery of our friendship circle for a really long time. She would be in a relationship when I wasn't in one and I'd be in a relationship when she was single.
I was a wild, unruly, beer-drinking football player and she was incredibly mature, really amazing and a total babe. She had her life together and it felt like she was completely out of my league.
Then in 2012, I had a really big heartbreak.

In a video recorded on February 5 at around noon, the unidentified suspect is seen lashing out an expletive-filled rant at the victim in the fast-food restaurant's parking lot in Richmond, California. The furious woman, who seems to be working in nursing care due to the hospital scrubs that she was wearing, allegedly accused the victim of cutting in front of her in the drive-through.
The suspect's anger escalated, and she started throwing items, including a water bottle, at the other car, as the terrified mother-of-two continued recording with her three and five-year-old sons.
